This thread is much better when you skip Dave's posts and read TheMike's instead. At least he knows how to put forward a decent argument that doesn't flame-bait. All Dave does is rehash TheMike's points and then add some hypocrisy.

Unless Luger comes in and beats AJ or Sting 1-2-3, I haven't got a problem with TNA bringing in Luger. Yes, he's not going to pop a huge buyrate, and yes, he uses drugs and doesn't like jobbing, and yes, he hasn't wrestled a decent match since 1998, but he has name value, and if they feed him to AJ like I think they will, it will have been worth it. Have said that, I say we reserve our judgement to Wednesday after the PPV.

Jarrett's ladder match with Benoit at Starrcade '99 was one of the better ladder matches I've seen, and I don't think you could say that Benoit carried Jarrett through it.

I reckon it's a good idea. They keep talking about how the X-Division has no weight limits, but I think Siaki or Lynn would be the biggest guys whove been in the division. Even if he can't wrestle like a Sabin or a Lynn, there's still the opportunity for some cool styles clashing matches.

Anybody who uses the 'Austin destroys the Alliance' example is an idiot. That argument was only relevant during the time from that RAW until the Invasion PPV, when Austin was revealed to be in cahoots with the Alliance. He took them all out because THEY LET HIM. I can't believe people still use that as an example.

The EA Sports thing was just a rumour from an ign.com interview with D-Lo Brown which was reported as fact, and then promptly shut down by Mike Tenay on NWATNA.com. He said that the had numerous companies interested but an EA deal was unlikely.

Eh. The only reason he's in TNA is because of his history with Sting. Jarrett wanted to get back at Hart and Sting, so he brings in Luger. It's logical. Luger hasn't been truly over since 1998, but he won't be around long anyway. I say two weeks max. TNA has survived a year and a half even though they brought in guys like Moondog Spot, Lex Luger isn't going to do any harm. If anything, they'll get a little pop in buyrates from old WCW fans nostalgiac for a Sting/Luger confrontation.

Rick Steiner was great up until about 1998. He only REALLY started sucking when he turned heel and feuded with Sting and put attack dogs after him and then kept teaming with Sid in Nitro Main Events against Hogan and Hart and Luger.
