That sucks, he's done a lot of good for animal life, especially at his zoo in Queensland.

That is absolutely sensational.

Routh was on Leno, Bosworth was on Conan too. Might have been the same night, not sure.

If they're putting the Jarrett vs #1 Contender match on the following PPV, that seems to indicate to me that Joe is going to win the 4-Way? Having your hottest star win his title shot the same night he cashes it in would be a fun storyline, but it doesn't make good financial sense. If people know for sure that it's Joe vs Jarrett for the World Title at the next PPV, they're going to get way more buys.

Not at all. Especially because of the completely blatant Gitmo parallel they went for. Totally takes the reader out of the story, which means you stop giving a shit about Speedball. Not that anybody ever really gave a shit about Speedball, but you get my drift.

I also got back into comics recently, been catching up on the last few years of Marvel thanks to the wonder of torrents, and Civil War is easily the most interesting crossover I've read. I've always found Marvel is at its best when it keeps things simple. I hate when the X-Men deal with the astral plane, or the Shi'ar. I hate when Dr Strange guest stars and a storyline devolves into magic shit. It's why Civil War works, it's about the nature of the characters first and foremost. As for some specific stuff about some recent releases... I'm also loving the seeds of conflict in the Fantastic Four. As for the X-Books, the Apocolypse arc in X-Men was ok, I thought it was over too quick, and I thought Gambit's explanation for becoming a Horsemen was piss-weak. Uncanny and X-Men are just so... bleh. I hated the Psyclock/Jamie story, I hate the teams and the only good thing about those books has been Mystique and Juggernaut, and he went off to Excalibur. Astonishing and New X-Men, on the other hand, have rocked my socks. They've been on a completely different level to the main X-Books. New X-Men had a few too many deaths, but the series definitely needed a shake-up. As to why I just bitched about X-Men in a Civil War thread, I have no idea. Back to the War, I'm also really enjoying Civil War:Frontline. The change of perspective is awesome, it's one of those books that makes the universe seem so much more realistic. They're reporters, but they don't have superpowers! It's cutting-edge shit! One criticism of Civil War I've found is that they make everything too blatant. Long-winded dialogue about the complexities of civil liberties, weird mini-stories comparing Iron Man to Julius Caesar. We get it. Freedom vs security. We understood the explanation to House of M, we can figure out anything.

This might have been discussed already, because Kurt Angle's physical condition is one of the most fascinating things about wrestling these days, but what's with Kurt's voice? If you listen to a promo from 2000 and compare it to the backstage one he cut on the last ECW show, it's night and day. And it's not just that his voice has gotten more gravel-y over the years, he's developed this weird lisp kind of thing, like he can't control the saliva coming out of his mouth. Has anybody else noticed this, or am I insane?

Randy Marsh training in The Losing Edge episode of South Park. It can't be topped. -

That was awesome.

Hurley (saw Dave), Jack (saw his Dad), Kate and Sawyer (saw Kate's Horse) have all seen something they're not meant to on the Island, maybe that is the connection? And I'm pretty sure Sawyer has shot/killed a few less people than Kate, so if we're talking about scales of goodness, he's well above her.

It was on the flight manifest that Hurley shared with Locke. Considering The Others had a list of names when they raided the tail section's camp, mere hours after the flight crashed, you'd imagine they'd know plenty about who was on board. As for next week's preview:

This thread looks empty without Arn Anderson's 'my spot' retirement speech from 1997. It's infamous for the nWo spoof the next week, but it was awesome in itself.

I agree, it seems way too odd that Libby would be holding a cushion when she was shot. Obviously a cushion (or blankets?) isn't going to stop a bullet, but it has to serve some function. And we still need a bit of closure on Hurley/Libby. Of course, that might be what they want us to think.

You cook crumpets under a grill until they turn golden brown, then you put on pantloads of butter and honey. Then you rub them against your chest and scream.

I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, but based on what I remember reading following the Raven/Jarrett I weekly Pay Per View, it was the first TNA PPV to break even with something like 30,000 buys. Right now, TNA PPV's are in the range of 40-50k, so you'd think they would be making some kind of profit on them at least. Things like the video game deal, the international TV rights, the merchandising and the DVDs would also rake in some cash, but I don't know if it would offset the costs of the weekly TV, or even the monthly wages and production bill.

Isaac was based near Uluru, or Ayer's Rock, in the Northern Territory of Australia.

257. Jon Lovitz and his incredibly dirty jokes. 258. How Conan says 'John Lovitz' -
Don't know how long this webspace will last, but check out this clip from the start of episode 12. More specifically, check out the expression on Logan's face when Bill says 'Christopher Henderson'. Pretty sweet foreshadowing.

Nah, that was just a different coloured version of the Oceanic Airlines logo.

I'm aware that most people here think this 'news' is bullshit, but have Brown and Styles really signed with the WWE? I only ask because no-one's gone either 'what? That's not true!' or 'yeah we knew this'. It's just confusing grammar. Siaki was the only one who signed with the WWE, the rest just had issues with their contracts that were ultimately resolved.
