You can consider me a mark for either Hardy. Matt more so, due to the fact that he's a great wrestler. But Jeff also, due to the fact that at one point he was pretty damn good, not to mention fearless, before the sloppy drug-induced work set in.

Yes indeed, this is a good promo. As LF said, these have really pointed out WHY Clark hates Maddix - or rather, his guiding light. That being said, if Clark thrashes Maddix and Maddix renounces Todd, but then goes and beats the crap out of Clark anyway... I'd mark like a little fucking bitch. Looking forward to this one.

They both got a good reaction when they mugged Orton for the $100,000. Which was a GREAT segment, cos it showed wrestlers ACTUALLY BEING SENSIBLE. Of course, it all ended with Triple H and a 2x4 - but until then, I was loving it. Wrestling-wise? Not that I recall.

Flair's promos have seemed a bit hit-and-miss of late. When he's on form, he's REALLY on form - but there are times when he hasn't been, and it's been BAD. Foley can always be relied upon to bring goodness to the promo table even if he doesn't quite reach the peak that Flair has been known to on occasion.

He's still IC champ. I wouldn't mind really. I was always a mark for champion vs. champion matches. Mistake - if both titles are on the line then whoever wins has both belts, and so theoretically should defend both belts at once. And that means the IC title won't be going back to the midcard anytime soon. You'll get to the point where it has to be given away, like Booker T giving the US belt to Kanyon. If only the world title is on the line and the World champ wins, you've accomplished nothing. If the IC champ wins, you have the same situation outlined above. And if neither belt is on the line and the world champ wins, you've still accomplished nothing. And if the IC champ wins, then he's gonna want a title shot, and so you're back in the same situation. Keep the World and IC divisions separate.

If anyone remembers the girl who mugged a Girl Scout for her uniform during the Toxxic/IL all-show brawl, then ambushed and kissed Toxxic later - the story I'm doing is Jet was working in the local indys, turned up to the show looking for work, saw Toxxic and IL fighting, quite fancied Toxxic and snogged him, then he found her after the show and they got together. Next show she was driving the car that whisked Toxxic and Liston to safety after they beat Dace and Danny.

Some good imagery in there, although it's a little muddled. I did like the attempt to sow discord between Landon and Todd. Oh, and while we're talking about beating people - remind me to give you a pasting when you've finished with Landon, cos that one pinfall loss of mine is starting to rankle and needs avenging...

Yeah, but if I changed my argument from thread to thread I wouldn't have an argument. I keep saying the same thing because I think it's true, and because you have yet to field an argument of your own that convinces me I am wrong. I wasn't. If that's true, then the same shit applies about the Dudleys. But quite apart from all that, I wouldn't mind seeing them leave anyway. Basically, I tried to explain my argument in a different way (without changing the argument itself) because I find it difficult to believe that you can't see my point. Either I can't do that well enough, or you just don't want to be convinced. How do you not get this? Austin Stunnered a woman after having highly public charges over domestic abuse. Not just a woman, but a non-wrestling woman (OK, Stacy's been in what, 3 non bra-and-panty matches since being in the WWE? Coach has been in more, and i wouldn't call him a wrestler). If he'd attacked Jazz or Victoria that'd be different - they're seen as wrestlers. Even worse - THIS WAS DURING A PERIOD WHERE AUSTIN COULDN'T TOUCH ANYONE. He had to be PHYSICALLY PROVOKED to lay a finger on anyone. And each week, someone would do just that (accidentally) and he'd whoop them. STACY NEVER TOUCHED HIM. She just didn't want to drink beer. And somehow, a woman not wanting to drink beer has the same effect as physcially provoking him because Austin Stunnered her AND JR LOVED IT. If there had been any continuity, Austin would have been "fired" for that little exchange. But he wasn't, and the next week Stacy came out and drank the beer. Is it really true that you can't see the wrongness of this situation? The WWE, like virtually all narratives, works on the basis that the good guy always wins in the end. Austin here HAS to be seen as the "bad guy" (attacking a non-combatant without provocation when he'd have needed provocation to be able to attack anyone else, up to and including the top guys on the roster who would be seen as being able to defend themselves), but there was NEVER the payoff. Instead, he is portrayed as being in the right. If it had been a wrestler who hadn't had recent domestic abuse charges, it would have been better. If the wrestler who'd done it had later been "fired", beaten up or some sort of payback, it would have been better. Even if Stacy hadn't come out the next week, smiled and drunk the beer it would have been better. I'm well aware that this is fictional, but there's a difference between, say, two wrestlers who are both known to be trained professionals tearing each other up in a deathmatch, and portraying the assault of a defenceless person as a good, applaudable act. And no, I don't think the Dudleys should have been allowed to get away with it either. But unless I'm wrong, they were at least villified by the announcers. If they weren't they should have been, and all this applies to them too.

You mean the same recognition of talent that brought us Nathan Jones? Er, no. I think I'll stick to choosing who I like and think is good based on my own judgement, rather than thsoe of the WWE.
