    OAO 10/25 Impact Thread

I REALLY hated the Mike Tenay "it's obvious!" deal. No, it wasn't obvious. Nash was at ringside. Sting hit Nash. Nash then WENT to interject himself, Sting went to attack him and as a result allowed Angle to hit his finisher (cleanly) and then get the three count (cleanly). How many screwy Jarrett titles wins/defences did Tenay sit through without doing what he did there? Surely if they're going to do a 'Mike Tenay grows a pair' storyline they could have picked something that was a slightly more fucking obvious miscarriage of justice?

    PROMO: Erase / Rewind

Aussie expression? No, no. British expression. The Aussies nicked it from us. Which is after all, why they're Aussies. Damn kleptomaniac convicts, yeah. *adjusts stiff upper lip, drinks tea, loses badly at any and all competitive sports. Often to Australians*

Sorry Fury, but you're the Raven of the WWE. (yes, think of what Raven was in WWE before you take that as too much of a compliment ) But good-natured mickey-taking aside, I think it's a good promo. The first-person is always an interesting change of pace to what the rest of us do, and it's a nice little idea.

No. He's not one of the better workers technically. Hardy is a heat machine, due to a) the girls cheer for him, b) the goths cheer for him and c) he has a reputation for doing mental stuff, which covers for the fact that he's not as suicidal now as he used to be. In terms of knowing when to make his face comeback, he's got a good understanding of it. You can do worse.

I'm liking this. Although the prospect of Chris Fury being in an SWF game at this stage is laughable sir, laughable. Gotta move with the times!

Kibagami's getting into the spirit of things. Shame on the rest of you.
  8. The SWF rolls on, but after losing its TV deal and half the roster not even bothering to turn up for the biggest show of the year, where do we go from here? Answer: California! Money is tight, so the venues are getting smaller because we don't have the cash to splash anymore without those lucrative advertising deals. Expect a slightly more intimate vibe - more of a TNA feel than the big-arena WWE style we've been used to. However, the surroundings may change but some things stay the same, and we've got some scores to be settled! NOTE: Due to a prior commitment, Landon won't actually be in California for the show itself. Co-commissioner Megan Skye will therefore be in charge for the night. Please bear this in mind for any and all promos you might want to write, hint hint. ------------------- (7pm PST, 10pm EST; some ungodly time in the morning GMT) (Send all promos/marked matches to: ME, King Cucaracha) ------------------- ==================== TAG TITLE MATCH Revolution Zero© vs. Wild & Dangerous It was an eventful Genesis for three of these men - Austin Sly missed his plane and so the scheduled match against Chris Raynor never took place, but Wildchild defeated The Fabulous Jakey to deprive Revolution Zero of the SWF World Cruiserweight Title and become the first five-time World Cruiserweight Champion in SWF history. El Luchadore Magnifico, the legendary five-time Light-Heavyweight Champion, was on hand to provide congratulations… but the Bahaman Bomber’s thunder was partially stolen later on in the night when Toxxic defeated Johnny Dangerous to become the first ever five-time SWF World Heavyweight Champion! The Dance of Titles continues tonight, as Wild & Dangerous try to recover the belts that they lost to Sly and Toxxic courtesy of a Demonstar Driver and the Shooting Sly Press and Johnny looks for some measure of revenge on the man who has ruined his October again… Word Limit: 6000 Rules: Standard tag. With tag ropes, naturlich. Send to: Ace309 ==================== NEW BLOOD TITLE Michael Alexander© vs. Leon Sharpe The Mad Scientist Of The Mat beat off the challenge of Luke-O and succeeded in capturing the New Blood Title from Fulminatus at Genesis; the Dynamo of Destruction is taking an indefinite hiatus from in-ring action, but that doesn't mean that the challenges will stop for Alexander. No, tonight he goes head-to-head with the much larger Leon Sharpe. New Blood? Well, Sharpe never got bumped from the SJL so technically he’s an SWF rookie, and his press department have fought long and hard to get the name ‘Sharpe’ associated with ‘new blood’ in the minds of viewers and therefore voters. Meanwhile Alexander is aware that by the rules of the New Blood Title, if he successfully defends it three times he automatically gains a free title shot at whatever belt he may choose… even the World Title. Word Limit: 5000 Rules: Standard singles Send to: Toxxic ==================== Tag Team Grudge Match Chris Raynor and -TBA- vs. Tom Flesher and The Fabulous Jakey As Commissioner of the SWF, Tom Flesher took great delight in using his power to play with the lives of his enemies. One of those most tormented was Chris Raynor. In going against Tom's wishes in his career path, Raynor earned Tom's wrath. And he paid for it numerous times. It was only after Tom had orchestrated a loss of the long-forgotten Stables Title to Revolution Zero that Raynor finally found a tag team partner to watch his back, Landon Maddix. Unfortunately for Raynor, Landon is no longer in active SWF competition. Fortunately for Raynor, he's now Commissioner and has contacts. Thus, a new replacement partner will be found for the four-time World Tag Team Champion as he takes on two enemies; the orchestrator and one of the three 'executioners' if you will. Word Limit: 5500 Rules: Standard tag match. TAG ROPES ARE NOT JUST FOR SHOW! Send to: Muzz ==================== NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH Jay Hawke vs. ??? Jay Hawke's done a lot in his SWF career. He's ruled the International Title division, challenged for the World Title, been a part of a forgotten stable, championed his own match stipulation in the company. But has he ever faced The Question Mark Man!? Well, probably. Let's face it, The QMM is one of the SWF's longest and richest traditions. And, as another wrestler comes into the SWF with his identity kept a secret from the world, the question is just who will it be this time and will he uphold the honour of QMMs of old, in a No Disqualifications Match no less? And how will Jay Hawke cope in a match that dis-advantages him not knowing who his opponent will even be? Word Limit: 5000 Rules: No disqualifications. Pins must be in the ring though. Send to: Mr. S£im Citrus ==================== HALLOWE’EN HARDCORE Dace Night vs. Insane Luchador We had high hopes for these two in their respective matches at Genesis - hopes that were unfortunately dashed. Both men get a chance to redeem themselves here, but whose instinct for blood and violence will reign supreme? Word limit: 4500 Rules: Both men must come in trick-or-treat gear - your choice as to what. Any and all weapons are allowed. Around the ringside area are a number of suitable props, including an apple bobbing tub (which might be useful for partial drowning), and anything else you can come up with. To win you must throw your opponent into the coffin that is positioned where the entrance ramp meets the ringside area and slam the lid shut. Send to: Toxxic ==================== $10,000 LADDER MATCH JJ Johnson vs. Luke-O Remember JJ Johnson? One of the standout rookies of 2005, he leapt to prominence and challenged for the World Title a couple of times. However, JJ became the poster child for the Heimlich Manouvre by choking again and again in the big time, instead of choking his opponent as he doubtless intended to. JJ hasn’t been seen in these parts since early this year, but he’s back and with the same fire for competition as ever. Commissioner Maddix, a former teammate of JJ as well as a former opponent, has put him into a ladder match against newcomer Luke-O. A ladder match with a difference… will the rookie prevail, or will JJ get back into his winning ways and show the fed what he’s come to do? Word limit: 4500 Rules: Hanging above the ring is a briefcase with (allegedly) $10,000 inside. That’s a tidy chunk of change, and a suitable motivating factor to climb up given that Maddix didn’t want to put either a title or a title shot at the top of the ladder, seeing as how JJ isn’t the most reliable person when it comes to turning up for subsequent shows. (KC- Ouch!) The first person to climb the ladder and unhook the briefcase gets the cash, simple as. Send to: King Cucaracha ==================== Christian Fury vs. Craig McLennan Christian Fury gets the traditional welcome back - a warm-up against one of our old friends. Let's knock off some of that ringrust, shall we? Word limit: 3500 Rules: Standard singles Send to: King Cucaracha EDIT: Main card complete! Anyone who may still want a match who isn't booked, PM me and we'll see what we can arrange. For those who haven't started writing... what are you waiting for!? You have until next Wednesday, with the show to be up some time Thursday. Much as me and Toxxic would love to be up at 3 in the morning to mark and to post the show, that just isn't going to happen. This should go without saying obviously but PLEASE show up. Everybody on the card has given some sort of verbal commitment to us and the majority have had a good week already to have gotten yourself up for writing, so I'm hoping for great things for this one.

    e-feds

I'm actually now in charge (well, co-charge with King Cucaracha) of the SWF, and throw my lot in with Luke-O, Geedorah and JHawk in saying that you should try us out. Also, if anyone comes down and checks us out I'd like to point out that although (at time of writing) I am World Champion I won the belt BEFORE I ended up in charge, so it's not an abuse-of-power issue. And I'm currently trying to figure out what to do with it...

    Best sell jobs in wrestling?

A fair point. I don't remember much of the tag team wrestling from when I was young but even so most of it I'd have seen would have been after the Morton/Gibson partnership. And these days it's bizarre to even consider a North American tag match without the 'hot' tag. You can pull it off, but not often.

The OAO Discussion For Raw (10/22)

What does CM in CM Punk Stand for? The world may never know either of them. Chick Magnet. When he was much younger Punk was in a backyard fed, and was in a tag team called the Chick Magnets. He kept the initials. ...don't ask me where I found that out, but I think it's legit and from Punk himself.

    Poll about the World Title

Fair enough, I thought I'd throw the idea out and see what people thought of it.
  14. Right, I've had an idea. Brace yourselves. I was considering (CONSIDERING) taking Toxx to another fed, some RP fed with a lot of members, and taking the SWF Title with me. Then laying out an open challenge for any of them to step up and fight me for it in their fed, by their (RP) rules. The condition being that if one of them beats me, they have to come back to the SWF and defend it here under our rules. We've all seen people move between e-feds in order to try and drum up interest for their own - most recently, Rex and Rad Hazard came here. These ventures never work out because there's no incentive. I'm happy here in my fed, why should I join yours? Unless you're disaffected or the workload is less over there you're unlikely to jump for the hell of it, and our workload (until now) was always going to be heavier. Here, the incentive is winning the World Title. A World Title that we can document the history of, all seven years of it. Granted e-feds mean shit, but that's pretty impressive for an e-fed still. However, should someone beat me for it and take the title, the fact that they'd come here to defend it might drum up a little interest in the place they're from. Who knows, we might get someone who's interested in the concept come over here and stay. Or even some sort of InVasion angle, at a real wild outside push. And of course, seeing as how we all have a lesser workload now, there's nothing to say we couldn't invade the other way. Let me know. If everyone thinks it's a shit idea, I'll say no more about it. At least they can't keep the belt (*cough*BrockLesnar*cough*) since a no-show always loses, that's one advantage of e-fed land. But I thought it might be worth at least suggesting.

    Poll about the World Title

You read Genesis, right? Most of this roster doesn't show anyway, and we know that - what's the harm in trying to get some people in who MIGHT show? The sad fact is that if everyone on this roster wrote when they were booked we'd be fine. But they don't, so we aren't. I mean, a load of people couldn't be bothered to write for the biggest show of the year with WELL over a week to do it in. So really, unless this new schedule turns things around drastically, I'd like to take my chances.

Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta

So was the injury to Christy legit or a work? I'd have considered it a work usually, but that was Kong in there...

    TNA Talent May Leave

Angle might be all for putting over young talent, but guess who hasn't been out of the World Title picture since he arrived? And guess who he just lost the belt to? Yup, the oldest wrestler active with the company.

    RAW thread for 10/15

Burn. So how would they make it a MMA match, for the sake of argument? Put a cage on it? Bring in an octagon? I mean, what can MMA fighters do (movewise) that wrestlers aren't (theoretically) allowed to do? Punches sure, but no-one except ROH's Pure division respects that. Make them fight in rounds? Put gloves on them? Or admit that wrestling is a work and MMA is a shoot, then run with a worked MMA match like Big Show vs Akebono's sumo bout?

    SWF GENES-S

I figured you'd have written Johnny. I suspect Jakey did as well, but the trouble is that leaves us with you,me, WC, Jakey, Alexander and Landon writing so that's six people writing on the biggest PPV of the year (Luke-O says he didn't write but promises to for Hallowe'en, very busy apparently).

Full Raw spoilers from the UK

Now Regal doesn't wrestle anymore there's simply NO point watching a WWE show in England. At least when Regal came out the crowd cheered him above and beyond anyone else, no matter how he was being portrayed the rest of the time.

    SWF GENES-S

To be fair, Akira has made it clear to me that he has no interest in being booked anyway. I guess we'll see how everyone else does. Maybe it's time for a new poll - does anyone actually WANT this place to keep running?
  24. Toxxic

    SWF GENES-S

That's a good sign. Four days late on the biggest show of the year, and we still hardly had anyone writing. So we got the three title matches and the non-competitive Landon/Tom match. This fills me with confidence for the future. However, congratulations to Wildchild and Michael Alexander, and many thanks to Tom and Raynor for their time at the top in keeping this place running.

    WWE/USA network update

When TWC lost TNA to Bravo 2 the only good thing it really had left was ROH (if you can stand seeing half a show at a time) and NOAH (the continuity of which I don't know about, and just enjoy the wrestling). I mean, I did change from ntl to Sky to get The Wrestling Channel, but that was a couple of years ago when they had TNA on and showed less shitty MMA. (I'm not saying MMA is shitty. But the stuff they show is shitty).
