Of course the correct way to promounce Golucester from the original is with a really bad south west english accent. SO think like a Pirate (the Piratical Aaaaaaar comes from that area) and repeat GLAAAAR-STIR GLAAAAR-STIR GLAAAAR-STIR Also for those about to visit the UK... Leicester is pronounced "LESS-ster" Worcester is pronounced "WOO-ster" Southwell in Nottinghamshire is pronounced "SUTH-ALL" and Derby is pronounced "Away in a manger no crib for a bed, the little lord Jesus looked up and he said, We hate DAR-bee and We hate DAR-bee. We hate DAR-bee and We hate DAR-bee. We hate DAR-bee and We hate DAR-bee, We are the DAR-bee haters, sheep sheep sheepshaggers AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Not by people who come from it. I met one yesterday. You ignorant sod, Card.

Flesher falls down on the head-drop no-sell and the removal from the mods list, and I think it's fair to say that if Flesher is being autojobbed we're all up shit creek. (not because he's being autojobbed to Landon on this occasion, just the notion of him being autojobbed in general)

Z is marking! *dies of shock* It's like 2004 again!

You got my AIM. Let's bang, boy. That said, if 'banging out some ideas' consists of contriving a convoluted storyline which hinges on you (and possibly fellow no-show artists) returning and writing consistently to World Title level, allow me to laugh at you now in front of these witnesses and save us all some time and effort until you prove that it is possible. Regardless of the fact that you CAN be an amazing writer, and your style was a large inspiration for my own, I'm not going to organise the fed around someone whose last notable contribution was in mid-2004. Just want to get that clear.

So, did 83% of the posters in this thread stop reading the original post before this part of the story? I think the discussion is revolving along the lines of what happens when USA come back to renew the deal in 2008 and offer Vince far below what he's prepared to take, he takes his ball and leaves (or tries to), rather than an out-and-out cancelling.
-
I'm going with the hope that Vince was looking for Jericho signs and seeing if there were any Y2J chants as a gauge for whether bringing him back would be good for business, and if so how good and how he should do it. Like hitting Matt Hardy's music during that Edge/Lita segment when Hardy wasn't with the company, to see if people would pop for a return based around that angle.

See, it was never MEANT to be a nasty joke. I originally conceived it due to the fact that a heavy binge on alcohol can result in Toxic Shock Syndrome, and it fitted with Toxxic's straight-edge character and my tendency to name moves after him or the results of alcohol/drugs (Sobering Thought, Detoxx, Toxxic Shock Syndrome, Hangover etc). The whole tampon thing didn't really dawn on me until Tom (Tom? Or maybe Landon) started making the crowd hold signs with Toxxic's face on a tampon.

SWF Favorite Writer(s)? Tom. Silent, when he bothered. Janus. Sacred. Favorite Match(es)? Silent beating Danny. Janus's Mall Brawl. Favorite Promo(s)? The Uncle Filthy Show! Favorite Character(s)? Janus. Uncle Filthy. Favorite Spot(s)? The culmination of Landon's Mousetrap match. Favorite Move Names? Rage Unleashed. Demonstar Driver. The Oh God Oh Jesus Jack's Not Breathing I Think Your Boy Tommy Sold Us Some Bad Shit Legdrop (changed to It Won't Play In Peoria). Sacred's Spanish Inquisition (no-one expects the Spanish Inquisition!) Favorite Stipulation(s)? The Crimson Tide Match Least Favorite Stipulation(s)? Strap. Match. *shakes fist at Janus* Favorite Match(es) and Promo(s) (Written by you)? (forgot to add this one) Uh... in terms of enjoyment, Calvinball II was amazingly fun to write. In terms of what I feel were really good matches, beating Tom at Genesis last year and beating Danny at From The Fire, I think they were good. As for promos, I liked my 'Ancient History' series. And the in-ring promo where I turned back to heel early this year. Hell, I've done a load of in-ring promos that I like, mainly because I enjoy taking the 'Toxxic take' on things and seeing how far I can twist reality while still keeping it a vaguely feasible viewpoint. Dream Matches? Revolution Zero (Toxxic, JJ Johnson, Scott Pretzler, Austin Sly and The Fabulous Jakey) vs Wild & Dangerous, Spike Jenkins, Dace Night and Janus. WARGAMES. Dream Angles? I really liked the idea of the Clangle, but that was not to be because it would have involved too many people. Funny Moment(s)? Being linked to the 'Mike Van Siclen Goes To School' chat thread. Fondest Memories? Couldn't say. Any Regrets? That Card never stuck around for us to really do TKO like we wanted. I've became most friendly with...? Tom, Dace, Card. I go to watch wrestling at Card's, anyhow. Wrestling Favorite Federation? God. Uh... Shimmer? Seriously, WWE's crap, TNA's getting worse and I'm not keeping up with ROH. So maybe NOAH. Favorite Worker? Alex Shelley. Or KENTA. Least Favorite Worker? Someone like Hogan is the easy choice. But in terms of people who are actually meant to be able to work, Angle. Boring as hell, and an egomaniac to boot. Favorite Match(es)? KENTAfuji vs Kanemaru & Ricky Martin. Tag team wrestling at its finest. Favorite Stipulation? Couldn't say, you can normally find some way to fuck it up. Dream Matches? KENTA vs Shelley If I worked for a company it'd be... no idea. My style of wrestling would be... managing. I'm a talker, not a fighter. Face or heel? I make a much better heel. Dream Matches (that includes you)? Pass Personal Name? Mike Age? 25 Single? Married Biggest Turn On? The on switch Biggest Turn Off? The off switch Religious? No Favorite book(s)? Too many to choose. I'll settle for all of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher Favorite movie(s)? No idea. Favorite actor/actress? Christopher Lee Favorite bands? Rise Against, Bad Religion, The Wildhearts, Strung Out, Nine Inch Nails Favorite song(s)? 'Survive' by Rise Against, which was my wedding song. you may know it from Smackdown vs Raw '07 Most Recent Accomplishment? Continuing to make a difference to the homeless. Most Recent Failure? I was late to work this morning. My biggest flaw... is failing to think up funny ways to end these things I like my... women like I like my coffee: in a plastic cup. Future Goal(s)? GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! Do you write outside the SWF (if so, what do you write)? Yes. Other stuff. Heroes? Is a good TV show. I would love to meet... Eddie Izzard Hardest moment of my life... finishing this Greatest moment of my life... Dunno. Doing something. Would you want to be famous? If I had money as well. Favorite swear word? What a stupid question. You childish prick. Favorite food? My wife's chocolate orange cake. What would you want God to say if you want to Heaven? THERE IS NO GOD What would you want the Devil to say if you were in Hell? THERE IS NO DEVIL

Well, I think that's the first time I've seen Viscera compared to Vader... except in a "this guy's nowhere near as good as Vader" way. Incidentally, and TheFranchise might be with me on this one, did anyone else think when they first saw 'Big Daddy V' written down that there had been a string of Big Daddy wrestlers starting with Shirley Crabtree, and this was the fifth? It's probably not something you'd get unless you watched Saturday afternoon wrestling in the 80s in Britain...

OK, so currently we've got Dace and Johnny offering to mark, while me and Landon might help out if there's no-one else around. Is anyone else going to volunteer their services? Does anyone have a problem with us marking matches whilst writing at the same time?
-
I think I'm correct in saying that you have to climb out of the prison to win the Punjabi Prison match? Does anyone know if Khali can even climb over it?
-
We'll go on the poll results that are there when Genesis goes up.
-
OK, Landon and I were trying to decide what dates we're going to set as shows after Genesis. One of the first things we thought about is what day of the week shows were going to be. But of course, with no rigid schedule that doesn't matter so much. One thing that I am damn set on, is that I want a show on Hallowe'en, which is of course Wed 31st Oct and exactly three weeks from Genesis. So, here's the question: Do we have our first post-genesis show as Hallowe'en, giving people a monster three weeks to digest PPV results, rest, get motivated to write again and then write; or do we have two shows with a week-and-a-half break, so one on the 20th, say, then the Hallowe'en show on the 31st? One option obviously gives us more time, but will everyone lose motivation? The other is closer to our current schedule... but is that a problem, if we assume that a show may be a little late or something? You should still have an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of a solid week's writing time though.

That's the idea. Either just documenting 'non-camera' events in our guys' lives, or actual promos regarding the fed.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Toxxic replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Looks like they got embarrassed about the poll and took it down. unless you can't see it once you've voted on it. Went back this morning and it's gone. -
Define 'great'. In terms of being a consummate ring technician who knew holds, counterholds and so on, and performed the moves he did crisply and cleanly then no, the Rock wasn't great (is that a Sharpshooter or an ankle massage? Was that a belly-to-belly or did you just fall backwards and throw your arms in the air? Call that a urinage? Cos I call it you falling forwards). In terms of being able to work the crowd, understand heat, when to make the face comeback and put on matches that (sorry for the pun) electrified the arena then yes, he was great.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Toxxic replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
They can do that leave one pod empty and everybody wondering who he is going to be and when that wrestler is suppose to come out have Jericho's music come on You could do that. Or you could do something which doesn't ruin what little point there is to an Elimination Chamber (i.e. everyone starts in there, you remain in there until you are eliminated). -
Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Toxxic replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Mystery man doesn't work in an EC. Because either they come out to go into a chamber and then sit around doing nothing for a while, or they come out and compete first, which doesn't have the same impact either. A mystery man needs to come out and start kicking arse straight away, without having to wait or having his impact diminished by newer, fresher wrestlers emerging later (the same thing isn't quite true of a Royal Rumble because it's a slightly less focused environment). -
Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Toxxic replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Well if I can't have Jericho, I'd take a Jeff Hardy win. -
Well, I think this thread can now be closed. Cena's title reign came to an end at the hands of... ...his own pectoral muscle. HUSTLE LOYALTY RESPECT

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Toxxic replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
I put my vote in for Val, up to 46.39% Maybe once, just once, they'll run with someone who isn't Triple H and bring Jericho back, then have him beat Orton for the title. It wouldn't get as much of a reaction as if he'd gone over Cena, but hey, I'm sure it'll work. Have Orton set up for the concussion kick but Jericho catches his leg and turns him into the Walls of Jericho... tapout, explosion, roof gets blown off, Jericho wins the World Title and world peace breaks out. Or something. -
ECW 10.2.07 (Vince McMahon McMahon to make WWE Title announcment)
Toxxic replied to Hawk 34's topic in The WWE Folder
But no Jericho. And IT WILL BE JERICHO, AND HE WILL WIN! (I wish) -
Yeah, but otherwise you've got the problem of going into the thing without knowing what's recently happened to your guy. I think the best way to do it would be on one show we do the CFC Battle Royale to decide rankings. Then we have a gap of a month before the next show (or maybe a smaller card inbetween featuring non-CFC wrestlers) which gives the eight qualifers in the CFC time to write a small first match (say 4k), get that marked, do a slightly longer semi-final (say 4.5k), get that marked and then finish with the final (5k - it'll be the third match the wrestlers have had in one evening, so they wouldn't be producing a half-hour showpiece anyway).
