Windy works hard at being this retarded, let's remember.

Alex Shelley in TNA. OK, he's not getting the BEST reactions, partially because he's a heel. But he's getting the best reactions of the 'no-namers', and yet when was the last time he won a match? You could turn him on Nash, have him as a wise-cracking Jericho-style face and he'd be insanely over, but you won't see that push done. No thanks, we'll push Chris Sabin.

What the heck is that supposed to mean? Anyway, Akira, are you going to help me with this one? Anything you want it to mean, big boy.
-
Can't help you here, as I've never taken a break as such, just changed characters.
-
I believe you.

Good God. Johnny? Zyon, are you alive or am I flying solo on this one?

The OAO Official SWF 2006 Party Birthday Thread

It's a smart move, marketing/brand-awareness wise. These guys are "comodities" and the easier it is for fans to recognize them, the better. I can see that argument certainly, but then there's the 'rip-off' argument which would suggest that for all its claim of being 'the new face of professional wrestling', TNA hires the same people and gives them cheap rips of their previous themes. Now, granted, Waterproof Blonde and Powerman 3000 (3000? 5000? Hell, I can't remember) aren't exactly big name bands, and Powerman WhateverNumber do seem to have a deal with WWE where they do a lot of music... but that's almost worse. It's like TNA can't even afford to licence the music from small, shitty bands. It's the question of which is better: Do you utilise recognition of another company's product as much as possible to try and push your own, leaving yourself open to the possibility of being seen as a cheap imitation, or do you attempt to create your own image as far as possible but in the process have to start more 'from scratch'?

...which is exactly what the roster plit was meant to avoid, right? So that we essentially had twice the 'room' for people to break out and become stars. Looks like they've figured that they'll never get enough new stars (can't imagine why, with people like Taker and DX hanging around for years and taking up the main event) and are starting to drift back towards one big roster? I thought they fired Boogeyman. Guess that lasted a long time.

Regal turned on Booker? Awesome. Wish I'd been paying more attention to Smackdown now.

Ok, as someone who gets TNA on something like a week-and-a-half delay... who the hell is that with Nash? It looks like some unholy mix of Scott Hall and Terry Taylor...

To be fair, I think it's the guitars of Disposable Teens cunningly mixed with the drums from Beautiful People. But it probably works because those two songs DO sound very similar in part.

I thought so.

I've suggested ample ways to write the character. It's not that difficult unless you're being a cock and trying to make fun of my bitching from about two weeks ago. Which, hilariously enough, is exactly what I'm doing. Besides, the issue wasn't with me not being able to write your character, your problem was that while facing a character who was physically inferior to you in every way but still wrestles a fairly high-flying gameplan, you struggled to write a competitive match. I just wondered if you'd still find it difficult to write a competitive match given that you're facing a wrestler who is physically inferior to you in every way and wrestles a fairly high-flying gameplan but also happens to be World Champion.

Book Johnny against TKO.

I'd just like to point out that as Ultimo Phantasmo is stronger, faster and tougher than Toxxic, I look forward to being on the receiving end of a semi-squash from Mr. Silent Presence

I say we try Tom's idea of wife-swapping.

I want in on character swapping, so I vote we push the tag title match back past A2A.

OK, so how about we move Storm to Saturday? No-one wants to write for Storm because we all have work or school or whatever. Plus, as can be seen from last night's show, even those people who say they'll write for Storm sometimes won't, and out of a fed of something like 15 (allegedly) active writers, I'm the only one who promo'd. A move to saturday could give everyone at least one day to get SOMETHING in. Now,the opposing argument would be that it splits the weekend in half, and no-one would be able to get enough done on the Saturday to get a show in for Storm, and no-one would be able to get enough done on the Sunday (what with potential late cards and all) to write for Lockdown, so we could end up with two shows of bugger all instead of one. However, I feel that this is a suggestion that needs making as from my (rare) conversations on AIM with Raynor I know that the lack of availibility to be booked for Storm makes it difficult for even our happy pranking Head of CC to turn his frown upside down. This would turn Lockdown into the 'four-day writing show'. HOWEVER, another option presents itself, which is to move Storm to Saturday AND Lockdown to Thursday, keeping Smarkdown on the Monday. The reason being, Smarkdown becomes the one show with two weekend days to write for, but is also the show with only four days to write. So the weekend is broken up - you have one writing day out of the weekend for each of the shows with five days to write, and for the show with less writing time you get both days of the weekend to write. What do we think?

Shelley all the way. The man's probably the best wrestler on the roster (not quite the all-round goodness of Styles, but in terms of wrestling innovation he's the best) and he's absolute gold on the mic.

That baby looks so different to all other babies I've seen. I mean, I've seen some babies, but that baby... well, she's definitely a baby. Yup. No doubt about it, a baby is what she is. *with Divefire on the 'running from children' front*

Best. Card. EVER.

So is that where the 'Sandman' came from? Because he was a surfer, and therefore associated with sand? I mean, I'm sure I've seen a picture of him from mid-90s wearing a Neil Gaiman Sandman T-shirt, and I sort of figured that the gimmick and name always came from the 'sleep' Sandman idea rather than anything else. But it looks like I was wrong in the worst way.

[FELONIES!] I forsee many, many segments with Toxxic and Janus taking it in turns with Johnny. [/FELONIES!]

I forsee many, many segments with Toxxic and Janus taking it in turns to try and get Johnny to admit his sexuality.
