But if it comes to that we could even restart the JL. Quite apart from that, if we had a larger roster and the shows were divided it'd make booking easier, as you'd have a clearer idea of who should be booked and who wouldn't need to. Besides, it might get us more tag teams. Lord knows that'd be a plan. What do people think about one person being able to write a tag team? So say, me being able to write as TKO for tag matches, maybe using TORU as my main character and KOJI used for singles matches to build to a specific tag match? Bruce could do the same with the Blank Brothers, and I dunno, people could introduce a partner, or train up a manager or something...

Bruce, I stand for tradition. You are the despicable new wave... no, in fact you're nu-wave, and therefore must be shunned. Fie on you for renaming one of our titles, heathen!
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not Axis! Please God, can we have someone with a character rather than Longdogger Pete without the "bid'ness"?
-
I love it. Landon is so amazingly self-centred it's hilarious, to the point where I still can't understand how he was ever a face (although to be fair, i think I used that argument in character once or twice).

The proposed schedule: I can see this working, BUT it's kinda limiting in some ways. For example, Jimmy The Doom is not a technical wrestler - he's a comedy brawler, really. But he's challenging for the International Title at Battleground, where it is held by Dub-Cee, the most cruiserweighty cruiserweight since Andrea Montgomery. So whoever wins, you're going to have a definitely not-technico champion defending on the technical show, and do we really want all technicals fighting for the title? Sometimes the mix, such as technical Hawke vs cruiserweight WC, is what makes a title match interesting. Obviously for the Cruiserweight Title things are a little different because you can ONLY have Cruisers, but at the same time JJ Johnson's AJPW style is VERY different from WC's (again used because he's the most obvious flip-floppy cruiserweight). And the Hardcore Title? Sure, Bruce was a hardcore brawler and Amy's a brawler, but the second-longest reign of all time went to that man WC. What about Judge's anti-hardcore reign? I know I really enjoyed writing Toxxic in Hardcore because he didn't use classic hardcore weapons, he brought out weird shit like waterpistols and stuff, but he's definitely not a Hardcore wrestler so under this system probably wouldn't go near the title. At the same time, I can see the logic if you are going to use it more as a fallback for wrestlers without their own agenda rather than limiting people in angles. The fed being fun: I was struggling for a while with Amy due to the fact that I deliberately made her very unpolished - she's a sloppy brawler and not much more, which doesn't give me that much scope to work with. However that's my doing, not yours, and now she's firmly in the Hardcore division that's less of a limitation. The word limits are generally fine, i haven't noticed a massive increase, but then when I'm on I tend to write a lot anyway. Sure, we're having the usual semi-flamewars on the board, but if it isn't Drea and Blank it'd be me and Frisco, or Spike and WC/Johnny, or whoever narks Muzz when he's in a bad mood, or whoever and whoever and whoever. It happens. Newbs: I'm stumped. I think the most recent DEFINITE n00b we have is Michael Cross (still not quite convinced about Grendel, but we'll see) and that's just poor, because before him it was... who? Given that Coyote and Avery are as close to being certainly Pete and Sydney Sky as they reasonably can be I think it's probably Akira. And that's going back TIME. How did everyone discover the fed themselves? Maybe that's the way forward. I noticed it through Dace Night's signature on these boards (i'd seen it before in sigs, but his photoshopped picture of the Trinity made me go "what's that?" and then I learned about the fed). Let's find out how everyone else found out, then maybe see if we can get more people the same way?

Some of us like that sort of thing.

That's OK Dub-Cee - I can understand how it'd be difficult to see someone as gifted as me arrive and not come to the conclusion that I'd done it all before... *wanders off, banging head into any and all surrounding objects, including low-flying planes*

Promo: “Emotive Words and False Analog”

Makes sense to me. -
We need Manson to join this thread, cos he wrote Manson/Spike and that pwns us all.

Promo: “Emotive Words and False Analog”

Damn it. I do all that work to make Spike a face and that bloody Zyon goes and sends him mental again. If you want something done properly... *applies eyeliner, spikes hair* -
Now THIS is a quality promo. While Skull is gold, Sly is better in a wrestling way.

Landon Maddix vs Annie Eclectic. Mousetrap match, roughly this time in 2004. Landon won.

Seriously? People want Mak? I mean I guess, apart from the fact that Spike crippled him and everything and that sort of emnity shouldn't really be around unless it's for an angle... but I dunno, doesn't anyone else have trouble writing Mak as being enthusiastic for anything? Sure he's got good knowledge and all, but he just seems too calm and laid-back to be a proper shill guy. And like I've said before, I feel that since *we* effectively call the action, we need over-the-top characters as commentators.
-
Hey, if we're talking animals just call in the ELK.

*sighs* Bruce, if you want to re-read this thread you might notice that it was J3 and Drea who first made 'snippy' comments to you, whether or not they meant them seriously. Landon simply stated *his* view on the World Title situation (just as you say you did), and pointed out that your comment about people having an attention span of two weeks is not justified in his case, because the feud between Landon and Toxxic (and now Landon and Amy) has been going on since this time last year in degrees. Also, your comment about him 'not slapping a match together in forever' wasn't exactly charitable, was it? And let's face it, on two occasions when you were meant to have faced IL you have produced nothing, and you didn't get much in for Crimson Tide. Now I know as far as IL's concerned you've been playing it as Bruce avoiding him (and done pretty well at it), but from the other comments you've made on the board I've been reading it as you've intended to write a match, but haven't. I could be wrong in that interpretation; if I'm not, you're on pretty shaky ground to call someone down for no-showing. In conclusion; generally as far as the SWF goes, tournaments don't work all that well. I think one a year with the Cold Front Classic is fine. Otherwise, as Drea said, they just get intrusive (see Lottery, Lethal). Maybe this is a RP-background as opposed to a match-writing background thing, I dunno. But I really don't think that the World Title can be left off a PPV, especially when we have two Number One Contenders who can readily fight for it.

I can't believe I'm getting that over as a catchphrase, innit.

Landon Maddix’s hotel room Roughly 5am, 4/13/06 Landon Maddix and Megan Skye are still up, and both of them have alcohol in their hands. Both are also still clothed, but the atmosphere in the hotel room is definitely one of celebration. After all, Landon now has a World Title shot, Megan is reunited with her most successful client, and Landon has someone to do the thinking for him. Things are good. *click* And then the key turns in the lock, and the room door opens. Both Megan and Landon look around, and upon seeing the new arrival Megan (being as already noted, rather brighter than Landon) rolls off the bed and hides on the other side. “What the fuck is goin’ on ‘ere, Landon you cunt!?” “Hey, Amy,” Landon says, looking confused at his girlfriend’s rather aggressive greeting, “nice work with Bruce, you really-” “Eh? Eh?” Amy says storming into the room and bending down to glower into Landon’s eyes (Landon thinks about looking down her top, but something in his alcohol-befuddled brain tells him it wouldn’t be a smart move). “I really what, Landon? Got me arse kicked? Ended up in fuckin’ hospital? Well I guess you wouldn’t know that would yer, cos it ain’t like you bovvered checking! Nah man, you were here with that slut over there!” the Punk-Rock Princess finishes pointing a finger at Megan Skye, who ducks lower in the hope that someone will make the mad English girl go away. “Hey, Amy, c’mon,” Landon protests, “it isn’t like that! Megan’s just agreed to become my manager again, that’s all! She’s got me a World Title match!” Landon looks up at his girlfriend, thinks he detects a slight softening and tries for pity. “I thought you’d be happy for me…” *SLAP!* “Yer did, did yer?” Amy fumes, “well I’ll tell you what right… I’M NOT!” And with that cutting retort, Amy turns around and practically flounces out of the room. “Amy! Where are you going?” Landon asks. “Know what? I’m goin’ to stay in the room of someone who actually gave a shit about how I was an’ came down to the hospital to check on me,” Amy tells him, spinning back around, “an’ someone who has a car and who’ll be givin’ me a lift to the next show, cos I sure ain’t travelling with you! An’ since I ain’t had no sleep tonight I’m gonna be sleepin’ in this morning, so don’t bother comin’ knocking for me, ya get me?” “Who…?” Landon asks weakly. “Sean Davis!” Amy snaps. She goes to close the door, then reopens it slightly, “an’ just so you know, since he’s 6’5 and 280lbs, he tends to book rooms with a double bed!” *SLAM!* Landon stares at the door for a few moments, while Megan re-emerges from the other side of the bed. “She’ll be over it by the morning…” Landon says to himself. Megan, being as already discussed the sensible one, says nothing.

I have to agree with the suggestion that with one show until the PPV, a tournament would be pointless as we already have two contenders who've been granted World Title matches. However, I don't think Bruce made his suggestion with himself in mind.

Amy Stephens vs Megan Skye, but that'll be made clear on Smarkdown.
-
Make it happen.
-
You do that.

I was going to ask how Sacred could commentate when he's never said more than about three words in any promo I can remember. Not cos he can't, just because he's never seemed to want to waste oxygen on anyone else. Sacred and JJ Johnson for the announce team!

I'm thinking that Landon vs Johnson for the World Title, the vacant World Title, is going to be some good shit. I also think that kudos should go to Muzz, believe it or not. Yes, he's vacated the title with no chance for built to the PPV. BUT, he did so in a way that fits with his character, and makes sense. Instead of no-showing the main event of a PPV he bows out early which at least gives us a competitive match. And one day, maybe he'll become World Champion when he actually has time to write As for my match, given that Bruce is so much bigger and tougher than Amy that was the only way I could figure that she could beat him in that environment, and Sarah had offered Sean's services. I will however say this; that was the hardest work I've put into a match for a LONG time, probably since Toxxic vs Pretzler at Ground Zero last year. The amount of effort I put in to try and drag a boring, run-of-the-mill brawl up to a decent level just by writing the prose better was... draining. And Bruce, the only reason I had to do that was because I knew that you could more than likely pull out a much better actual match than me in that environment. I also want to know what Zyon is smoking, cos I swear his matches get weirder every time.
-
Easily - if you can look beyond the "inside the box" view that the world title match is by default the top match and look at storylines that have been built up and are at a critical point You just got beat by a girl. Again. Therefore your chances of main-eventing are slim to none

Well, if anyone wants something shoved in Wrestling Panda I can do that too.
