So was Soriano to the M's not true after all?

Chase got his hit and was taken out of the game for the Phils. 32 in a row and only has to look next to him for the Phil with a longer streak.

So from following the trade rumors I've really decided that basically the ESPN experts will make up a huge rumor so that they can later shoot it down. I think they just call random people and say "give me the names of two baseball players" and then use that as their source for the trade rumors.

Why do old people love casinos so much anyways?

The place I go to in Delaware is filled with old people. Its also only slots..and horse racing. Maryland tried to get slots but the dumb democrats wont allow it, so Im forced to take my meager spare change fund jar savings up to Delaware every couple of months. Delaware Park right? I love that place. We used to go most weekends during the summer I lived down there. We'd hit it up for the horse races in the early afternoon. There were hot chicks there, you just had to push through the old ladies to find them.

A Mr. Perfect dvd has to include footage of him making half court basketball shots.

Stephen A. is an idiot. He doesn't know shit about shit which is why he screams.

Actually, with the salary cap considerations it would be hard to ever have a deal like the Barkley deal again (where you trade your superstar for a crap platter that doesn't help). As long as they don't take on any terrible salaries in the process and can clear money to make a run in a year or two, they will be better off in the long run.

I'm really enjoying the new Clemente biography and recommend it to everyone, not just baseball fans.

I don't think he should be the casualty, I think that he has to be. For the reasons you mentioned. There is no way that any team would trade for Webber. Green, Korver and Dalembert's contracts make them almost untradeable. And the way the team stands right now they are around a 35 to 40 win team with no way of improving. I love watching Allen Iverson play basketball, and feel lucky to have been able to see him countless times (including the run to the finals where I got to see some of the greatest individual basketball live), but sometimes you have to get worse to get better and he is really the only thing that they can move. Now, also I think that the Sixers MUST have someone who is not Billy King making the decisions, but that's neither here nor there. The situation that King put the team in is an impossible one.

Play blackjack. Make sure you really read up on the rules before you go. Double down when you have 11 and never take a card if the dealer has less than 6 showing and you have more than 11 in your hand. Also, tip the drink girl well the first time and ask her to keep bringing them. This way you don't have to wait to be empty to get a new one and you get a drink everytime she comes around instead of drink, order, drink, etc.

The reason you would give him away is to flat out start over. Get some contracts that will go away, be terrible for a year and wind up with a good spot in next year's draft that's going to be incredible. I'm a Sixers fan and I'd much rather have seen them do that then suffer through another average to bad season.

PM'd my emergencies. I'll take Seattle again.

Here's who the Phils should trade. 1. Aaron Rowand Hustle enhances his real value. Shane Victorino is ready to step in, Michael Bourn could be a future option. 2. David Dellucci Miscast as a pinch hitter, needs regular playing time with his ability. 3. Cory Lidle/Jon Lieber Starters are highly coveted. Scott Mathieson is as good as Lidle right now. 4. Rheal Cormier 3rd best relief ERA despite middling peripherals. 5. Arthur Rhodes Free agent after the season. The Phillies should only deal Burrell or Abreu if the right deal comes along. It would be a mistake to cut either, especially Abreu, just to cut salary. Lieberthal's gone after the season. I could see Bell coming back for one year if the Phils don't sign Aubrey Huff. Aaron Fultz I think will return, as will Randy Wolf. Arthur Rhodes, Cory Lidle, Ryan Franklin and Mike Lieberthal are gone. With the Phillies ownership group (whoever this may consist of) setting a dollar limit, why do you think that Burrell should be kept? To me the team could easily use his money better if they can get someone to agree to pick up his salary. Now a quick question. I have no basis on this, but to me it seems the Phillies have too many left handed hitters in their line-up. Are there any statistics on what the best mix of lefty vs. righty hitters is? Basing this on 27 years of watching baseball, I feel that a left handed hitter does worse against a left handed pitcher for some reason than a righty vs. a righty.

I think of that as a great piece to ride a horse to.

Well, my cat threw up all over my bed today. That's not acceptable. -
Yeah, I agree. They need Locke to go back to being kind of mysterious. Like the countdown really affected him.

The Devils victory parades in the Meadowlands parking lot were always the saddest things around.

The whole internet/baseball trade rumors thing is pretty annoying. Who in the world would believe the Yankee would trade A-Rod & Cabrera for Abreu, Burrell, Bell and Gordon?

I'm in. Sounds like a must see movie to me.

I thought it was Life O'Reilly. Then you were mistaken.

WP's inclusion of We Built this City got a chuckle from me. Good show, Mr. Mystery Gimick.
