I could care less if the Pats beat the Colts. And really, the field would have turned to shit anyways, so it's no biggy, I just don't think it was good sportsmanship. And, saying the Jets have a chance to get to the Super Bowl is like saying half of this board has a chance to bang a really hot bitch tonight. Theoretically it could happen, but realistically, it won't. This week the Eagles go back to making the rest of the NFC their little bitches. The end.

You do what you need to do to win, especially in the playoffs. And uh...in case you forget, the Patriots are also playing on that field. It's not like the Patriots will be invincible, they could easy be slipping or falling at inopportune moments as well. If the NFL doesn't make issue of it though then why can't the Pats do that? I'm sure other teams would do the same tactic if they felt it would give them a better chance of winning. Sports isn't about being fair, it's about winning and when playoff time hits, winning is the number one goal. Sports is about winning fairly. Period. And the argument that the Patriots are playing on the field holds no water either, why else would they specifically have done it? A slow turf makes it much harder for an offensive player to get separation. A fast turf makes it easier for a quick receiver to get separation, thus why teams like the Colts and the Rams fare better indoors.

Jimmy Fallon is a crime against comedy and humanity in general. So, good for him to have never played with Barbies (on air), but bad for him for ever laughing his way through what used to be a quality tv show. And not to get too involved in this debate about whether or not this girl can play the drums, did I read that she plays the same set list every night????? How could you possibly do that and not become horribly bored?

What town do you live in Al? I'm getting married in Frackville and having the reception near Hazleton. We planned for September to avoid such situations as you are dealing with.

I think that the Eagles will survive the Vikings, primarily due to Vikings mistakes. Something like 28 to 17, where it is a lot closer than an 11 point margin. I've got no clue about the Atlanta/Rams game. The thing that I expect there is that one team will lose by poor play rather than a team winning by playing well. Pittsburgh should be able to handle the Jets again in a tough physical match-up. I think that the Jets are probably pretty spent physically and emotionally right now after 2 straight overtime games. I still think that NE will have Indy's number. Especially with the dirty trick of not covering the field for the whole week. Why people make a fuss about Randy Moss's backside and not about the Patriots using underhanded tactics to try and win a game, is beyond me.

The lots will probably start to fill up around 9, but I agree with you about the getting to drunk to enjoy the game thing. It's always amazing to me when guys spend a ton of cash to go to a game, then proceed to get smashed and miss the majority of it. I'd recommend getting down there around 10. That gives you time to get set up and enjoy yourself, but not tire yourself out. I'd also suggest that you stop by the WIP tent. There's usually a nice size crowd there, and more entertainment then just sitting around drinking.

Chad Johnson was on a roll last year. The "Dear NFL, Please Don't Fine Me" sign was my favorite.

I had this thought this morning while listening to the morning shows while driving to work. I was wondering if other cities football fans are as rapid as they are here in the Philly area. This comes about after listening to people willing to try and eat the most testicles to win tickets. Not just "you eat some testicles, you win tickets", they actually had to beat out other testicle eaters, so you could basically eat a bunch of balls and get shit. Also a man declared on sports radio, that if he had to die for the Eagles to win this week, so be it and it was worth it. My question to people in other areas, is it like this there? I mean, this isn't even the championship game or Super Bowl yet.

Actually, Bruce is still putting out some good music. "Circus on the moon" is quite strong.

The Descendents - No All Short sweet and to the point.

On the Sports Reporters this weekend, he went on and on about how Herm Edwards was smart to let the kicker try on 3rd down so that if he missed he'd get another chance. Um problem is that the kicker wouldn't. Easy rule that the dumbass should know.

Well, recently I seem to be adding more and more teams to my NFL hate list (especially the Packers lately, mainly due to the overhype and praise of Favre. He's not the second coming tv folks.) But for my whole life ever Sunday I was raised to root for two teams, The Eagles and whoever was playing the Cowboys. Whoever is playing the Giants has been added to that list, so I'd say that I hate those two teams. I almost get as much pleasure watching them lose as I get watching the Eagles win. And it doesn't matter how good or bad they are.

I think that John Abraham (Jets D Line, I was kind of drawing a blank for some reason) is a prime example of this. He basically said before the last playoff game that he could have made it back out to play, but decided with free agency coming up he didn't want to risk getting hurt worse. That is not an athlete who wants to win above all else.

Just wanted to mention the 2 Radiohead songs I love that were not mentioned, "Like Spinning Plates" and "Lucky". Of course some of you should instantly disregard this post because I have to admit I enjoyed Pablo Honey when it came out.

76ers, Flyers (whoops, forgot that hockey's gone), Phillies and Eagles. Not to hard to figure out the pattern there. It's been passed down to me from 3 generations of fans, and I got stuck with the heartbreak. Which also, I've got to say is why I take offense to "bandwagon" Eagles fans right now. I don't feel that you can really know what it's like to root for this team unless you sat through the early 80's, the Buddy resurrection and the awful 90s. That's where you earned your wings, so to speak.

This paragraph sounds a little ridiculous. You could basically say that about any game ever. All Oklahoma needed against USC was a turnover for a touchdown and then an onside kick returned for a touchdown and then another touchdown and then it was only a 10 point game, so they would just need another touchdown to only need one more to win. The Colt's D definitely played softer in the second half because of the lead. It's almost impossible for a team not to.

Aaron Carter almost killed by flying mattress

Whatever happened to those guys anyway? Spontaneous combustion? -
I thought that Sheldon played as good as if not better than Lito as well, but he didn't have that signature play (ie Lito's Pick Six against Carolina) to get the recognition. Regardless, they both played a lot better than I expected.

Sadly, yes. And glad he wasn't seriously hurt. I dislike the kid as a singer but I don't want him dead or anything. Bitten by a goat on the nuts...sure! Killed? No way. This is just a song called "saturday night" right, not a Bay City Rollers cover? I think that Ned's Atomic Dustbin put that baby to rest a few years ago. -
Call me a traditionalist, but why in the hell couldn't they have just sent the USC and OU marching bands out there? USC has one of the best bands in the country. They would be much more entertaining than the next teeny bobber flavor of the week. Or have dogs catching frisbees. Everyone loves that.

Hood, you forgot that last year Delaware handed Navy (a bowl team) one of it's four losses. And this year Northeastern beat Rutgers in Jersey the week after Rutgers topped MSU. Which also lead to the greatest quote of the year by a Northeastern player when asked about the importance of the win. He said "well it's good to win a game, but it's not like it was U Mass or anything." That one is not going in the Rutgers media guide for next year.

As a Delaware Alum, I follow 1 AA very closely (even had my heart broken by the 21 point lead that UDel blew in the playoffs this year). Thanks for posting this.

Alright, I gotta ask, why no love for Steve Garvey ever anywhere? I don't know how old you are Al, but Phillies fans should never forget him for 77 & 78.

I really liked that 6 of 18 users found his review of Micheal W Smith's album to be helpful.
