Oh yeah, and Pat Burrell's skills continue to go in the shitter. Guy's starting to look like last year. Not good times.

A lot of day games going today. Gamecast is in full effect in the office. Phillies took a 2-0 lead on the Marlins in the 3rd. Abreu got a 2 out single to drive in a run, then Bell was walked with the bases loaded for the other.

I still think that the best idea is to put RVD together with Heyman and turn him heel. It'll at least be something new for a change. Have him start using chairs as weapons again and give him a US title run. My 2 cents.

Regardless of why it happened, Isiah should've been on that fucking team. If you wanted the basically the best of the 80's and early 90's, Stockton didn't hold a torch to Isiah at the point. Not saying that Stockton wasn't good, he was very good, but Zeke was the man.

Dude, you're nuts. Rollins has been the Phils 4th best player this year. Polanco has been absolute shit, especially as of late. That's only the offensive side of the argument. Rollins has developed into a great fielding shortstop as well. No way does Polanco have that kind of range. And, about the Ledee/Micheals platoon, I don't think it's good enough to get the Phillies a title. Ledee has been good at the plate this year, but I don't know if he can keep it up with more appearances. He seems to be best suited in limited roles. (That being said, I went to the game last night and he was HUGE). But, not only do they not do enough at the plate, I don't think either is a good enough fielder to play center. In the last two games they've both misplayed easy outs that led to extra bases.

I have become quite fond of hold 'em and Omaha as of late. Been playing in a money game every Tuesday night for awhile now. We also have some No Limit buy in tournaments every now and again. Usually a 50 buck buy-in with 3 seven people tables. That works out well and is a shit load of fun. Edit: I thought I'd add in a particularly bad beat that I just took. They're always fun. Playing Texas Hold 'Em it's me and one other guy left at the table. I get hit with two bullets. Before the flop I've already gone all in, down a few in the chip count to the other guy, but relatively close. He flips over A-4, and I'm thinking that I'm almost a mortal lock. Of course the flop comes 5-x-2. Then he picks up his straight on the turn and I'm out of the game.

"Airline wars in Canada get silly: WestJet exec accused of hacking Air Canada database. Air Canada steals his garbage in retaliation, only to get pwned..." Is this someone from here dropping the pwned on Fark? Just curious.

I might go on a tri-state terror spree if Ed "no trade" Wade doesn't make a real trade soon. (and by that I mean getting someone better than Mike Williams at the deadline) The Phillies need a centerfielder and a starting pitcher to have a chance. Jason Micheals is lucky if he doesn't embarrass himself out in the field and the same thing with Glanville at the plate. Also, the Phillies could use some bullpen help. I throw up in my mouth every time that Roberto Horrendous comes in.

I've clearly been wasting way too much of my time in the real world. My internetting is not up to par. I didn't even really know there was an internet slang. And this is the first time I've ever typed LOL. ewww, I feel dirty now.

I hate this one as well. Like people need something tragic to happen to know that Sports are for entertainment. My other least favorite cliche is when an upset occurs and the team declares that they "shocked the world". The world doesn't care. Major bonus points when the saying occurs after a meaningless game.

I agree with NoCalMike, and would also like to point out that the documents he took were copies and the originals are still in the Archives, so the right trying to pin stuff back to Clinton doesn't seem to hold water to me.

What's the loudest band you've ever seen live.
C Dubya 04 replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
I'd have to say that the loudest show I've ever seen was the Jesus Lizard. Not particularly great, but definitely cranked up. -
Couple of things on the Sixers: I agree with everyone who is high on Willie Green and Dalembert. Both showed a lot of potential last year (especially Dalembert when he's knocking down the 10 ft. jumper). O'Brian has said that he doesn't like having a true point guard on his teams and would rather have the team play uptempo and move the ball a lot, so that probably played into the decision to move Snow. The other major factor in getting rid of Snow is that he was going to make over $30 million for the next five years, including a very high 7 million in the fifth year when his best days would be well past him. With that in mind and the emergence of Willie Green as a player, I'm behind this move.

From these, I'd say that the Heat and Nuggets are worth a look. The Heat are a top 3 team in the East, and it's kind of a toss-up there, so at 10-1 I like them. And the Nuggets have potential to be really good if things fall into place. 20-1 is a nice payout for potential.

I'd say the Lions are the best money bet. Not that they have the best chance to win it all, but it is a possibility and with those odds, worth the wager.

So, I heard "Float On" and really dug it. It has kind of a late Pixies feel to me. If I like this song, will I enjoy the rest of their cd?

Power Hour is supposed to be a shot of beer every minute for an hour. 5 beers in an hour isn't all that rediculous, but I always found when doing a power hour you don't want to wait every minute for a sip, so you drink in between. It usually ends up with the person drinking a 12 pack in an hour, which will start the night out right.

House votes to cut off aid to Saudi Arabia
C Dubya 04 replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
"Supporters of the measure also argued that with Saudi Arabia's massive wealth from ownership of one-fourth of the world's proven oil reserves, the kingdom should not need financial aid from the United States. " This I fully agree with. What have the Saudi's done for us anyways, besides harbor the terrorists who attacked here? -
Well, I guess since they're being remastered, it's time to upgrade my Bad Religion tapes to CDs.

Agreed. It didn't help that the next album they put out was a steaming pile of crap. They showed so much promise when they were on Taang records. "Hate Your Friends" was an amazing album and then it seemed like they should break through with Come on Feel, but it never happened.

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp by Zep always gets my hands moving together in a rythmic way.

Killer Queen and Under Pressure. But, you can't go wrong with the majority of Queen's stuff.

Ah cool thanks. I saw the new album for 10 bucks last night and will probably check it out.

What happened to Lisa from the show? She was in Kingpin, was rediculously hot and was a decent actress, and I haven't seen her again. What gives?
