The OAO Cancelled Shows that Should be Back Thread
C Dubya 04 replied to a topic in Television & Film
THe show they need to bring back that hasn't been mentioned is Get A Life. I think that Chris Elliot is probably available too. That was a show that was way ahead of its time. -
Warren Haynes - Live at Bonnaroo. A solo accoustic (and a couple of solo electric songs) album live from the second morning of last years Bonnaroo Festival. Incredible album.

This is a tough question. It really depends on what kind of mood I'm in and what is going on. Estranged is what I'd consider to be GnR's "best" song. It has so many levels and so much going on. Rocket Queen and Coma are probably tied with Estranged for my favorites. But, Welcome to the Jungle is my all time fav to hear at any sporting event. When that first guitar riff comes on and the whole crowd pops, you just can't beat it.

^^^^^ It seems like you've given this quite a bit of thought. I caught Anchorman on Friday night. It was fucking hilarious. The plot was pretty weak, but almost everyone was on. Steven Carrel (sp?) was surprisingly good in his role.

This poor kid was disabled in the war too. He gave up so much to support and defend this country and this is the thanks he gets? It is perfectly fine to not support the war, or the President (I in fact don't support either), but to turn your back on a kid defending this country is not right. Someone needs to start kicking some ass the next time this happens.

I HATE the wave. It is awful, and when it is done during actual play, it is 100x's worse. That being said, during inning breaks, pitching changes, or that sort of stuff, it's harmless fun. I still refuse to participate though.

I think that Lebron will be very happy to stay in Cleveland. He's from there, and they are building the team around him. He'll get max money from them eventually and it will be his team. The way that the Bulls will now always be Jordan's team, the Cavs could be the same for Lebron.

I think that our government works best with a Republican controlled Congress and a Democratic President, and thus Kerry makes a decent choice (not perfect, but when's the last time there was a perfect choice for Prez?). Neither Dems or Reps ever have 100% effective policies, or ideals, so having a true checks and balances system is something I'm strongly for.

And the NY Post is all over another story. Are they hiring the Times writers?

5 years, $65 mil for Nash is retarded. Dudes 30, is hurt every year, and I don't ever remember him playing any defense. Daniels is going to step in and make the Mavs better. It seems that the Suns were disappointed by not getting Kobe and made a quick run at someone else. I'll go out on a limb and guarantee that they regret this move within 1 year.

If Dana Carvey is still considered a comedian, I vote for him.

The Breeders. I've always enjoyed their stuff, even though I did only pick it up because of the Pixies connection.

Which discussion show is 2nd best to PTI?
C Dubya 04 replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Sports
Am I the only one who gets bored with any segment over a minute on PTI. I always flip to the Simpsons or something during 5 good minutes. -
I had seen most of the HBO episodes, and loved them. Last night I marked out hard when I saw that the shows were on OnDemand. I instantly made my girl watch half of them. She didn't complain.

This was probably Milton's least deserved win of the year (and he's had several others that were close). He gave up 7 runs in 5 IP and got the win. That's a team picking up a pitcher if I've ever seen it. On the side, David Bell has been on a roll as of late. He's starting to look worth the $4.4 we're paying him.

I'm not seeing this as a good idea. There is no stability in Iraq right now, so how can we be assured that escape attempts won't be made. Guards in the prisons could still support the old regime, and could easily facilitate an escape.

What? You think all of thier old songs sound the same. Alright. Are we talking How Could Hell Be Any Worse era? or Suffer era? or what? explain. I think you could make this same aregument for any band. I was kind of joking, but really, the majority of songs from Suffer through Generator, or Recipe were basically the same thing with different lyrics. It was a pattern that I liked though. I always felt like they did the most with Stanger than Fiction as far as branching out and going in new directions, but that was my least favorite album. I kind of stopped following them after that and haven't picked up any albums since then, so I can't really comment.

Yeah, I've got to agree that some guy didn't get your friend hooked on meth, your friend got himself hooked. Unless the dude slipped him some without him knowing. That would be an interesting way to get new customers.

I saw the tape of this, and while I don't feel sorry for the guy, how dumb is that cop. The guy is in handcuffs and he wails on him 11 times? It seems that every move police make is on camera now, so if you're a cop and pissed off, find a better way to take it out than to beat a guy in the head with your flashlight. Regardless of how much he deserves it.

Maybe he could have picked a slightly more relevant line-up. I liked most of the bands, but in all honesty, 1995 called and wants its music back.
-
That sounds hilarious. I thought that Kane's Nutter Center Rampage was when he attached the jumper cables to Shane O'Mac.
-
I like Bad Religion, especially the earlier albums, but they really only wrote one song during their first 20 or so years. It was a good song that they repeatedly wrote different words to, but it was only one song.

RRR, just to give you a little support since it seems like no one else is reading your posts, I'd say you've been spot on with everything. Accidents happen. This I agree with. Thinking for a split second that two jumbo jets flying into the WTC could possibly be an accident. This I don't agree with.

Okay, that's a little different, but I would need to see a timeline before butchering the guy. If two planes had hit, he should have run out of the room and figured out where we stood. But, you need to know what was going on before you run him down.
-
^^^ You know, I consider myself to be one of the more liberal people around, but let's be fair to the President. When the first plane hit, no one knew that it was a terrorist attack, or at least no one was clear on it. That is why the second tower wasn't evacuated. Had I been President Bush, I would have sent someone to get me more information, but I wouldn't have jumped up and went out of the room running to see what was going on. For all that he knew at that time, the plane hitting the first building was just a horrible accident.
