Well, Puff the Magic Dragon used to make me ball when I was a little kid. Now I can't think of any songs that do.

That's a pussy song. (gotta love "the Stoned Age") Back to the topic at hand, gun to my head favorite song comes down to three, "Into the Mystic" - Van Morrison, "Soulshine" - Allman Brothers or "Estranged" by GnR. They all come close to perfection for different reasons.

Somehow I managed to drag my ass out of bed at 6:30 to get down there on time to see it. It was fucking amazing to see come down. Looked like it was clockwork. Tons of people out too. Quite a display.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Music/03/1...reut/index.html Here is a link. This is sad news for me. I grew up listening to the Milkmen and feel that they are one of the truely innovative bands. I've always been hoping for a reunion tour or at least show in philly, but alas, I guess it was not to be.

That defeats the purpose of playing hard and getting a one seed. I think that whatever teams they deem the worst, should get the 16 seeds as is. 1 seeds losing in the first round isn't a good thing IMO.

Yeah, but Xavier yesterday showed that a strong backcourt can prevent the penetration of Nelson & West and shut them down quite a bit. Plus, a team with good size inside will probably give St. Joe's fits. There are a lot of teams that could beat St. Joes. But, if St. Joes is on shooting wise, they can run with anyone. It will be really interesting to see how far they can go.

I'm trying to figure out which of Sable, Torrie, Jackie & Stacy you don't consider to be horrible. But, I hope that they give the cruisers at least 15 minutes. With that many guys, you need some time to give everyone their spots.

Pixies - the whole Doolittle album. Listening to it with some Argentineans at work right now. They apparantly love the Pixies down here. Who would've guess it.

Skynard's original lead singer died in a plane crash. The band replaced him with his brother who looked and sounded the same. I guess that's not really a death that lead to the band getting better, but more of a death that didn't really change a damn thing.

I'm fairly sure that they won't be a one seed. The selection committee isn't concerned with the polls (see Gonzaga's seeding two years ago). The committee puts the teams it feels are the best in the one spots. St. Joe's would have been there had they not lost, but this loss will cost them. I didn't think that they would go to the final four, but I will be shocked if they don't at least make the sweet 16. They're not a flukey small conference team, these guys can play.
-
I see almost no chance of St. Joe's being a 1. This was the worst loss by a number 1 team to an unranked team ever, and it happened in the quarterfinals of the A 10 tourney, not even a later round. I think that St. Joe's should be a 2, but would not be shocked if they fell to a 3.

Bush selling Lincoln Bedroom to donors
C Dubya 04 replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
Well, everything else that has gone wrong during this Bush administration has been blamed on Clinton, so why stop now. Damn Clinton turned the White House into the White Hotel. -
If Franken and Garafelo are going to be the two big names, why wouldn't they put them on during drive-time hours? I think that that's when the majority of people listen to talk radio (or not, but it's when I do).

Two quick thoughts. 1) I think that this could potentially drop St. Joe's to a #3 seed. If Wake or Ga Tech or NC St. win the ACC, they could move up to a 2. Kentucky & Miss. St. are probably locks for a 1 or 2 respectively depending on who wins the SEC. Duke, Gonzaga and Stanford are all probably locks for a one seed. Pitt is going to be a one or a two and if Ok St. wins the Big 12 they'll probably get a 1 or a 2. That would be 8 teams ahead of St. Joe's dropping them to a 3. Big turn of events for them. 2) I think that the A-10 has a good shot of getting 4 teams. This should make X a lock, Dayton & St. Joe's are locks and now the tourny is wide open. If Richmond beats Dayton to get to the finals, and loses to X there, they should be in as well. A-10 is a lot more interesting after today for sure.

Does this drop St. Joe's from a 1 seed? And, I don't agree with the they need a loss theories. St. Joe's wasn't going to be overconfident, if anything going in undefeated would've help them to play more confidently (which I think they'll need). MD2020, when did you graduate?

Yeah, I don't really think that would work either, but it would be nice. Stop clogging our legal system with stupid BS. On the appeals side of things, at least the plaintiffs would be paying out the ass even more on those. The defendents wouldn't even need to be involved.
-
Does anyone think that it would be possible to work out a system where if a lawsuit was deemed to be frivilous, the plaintiff would be responsible for all costs? That would be in my mind the ideal situation, but it might make things too ambiguous. I don't think that the loser in all cases should pay the costs associated with them, but in stupid trials they should. I really hope this passes the Senate. It's not anyone else's fault if you're a fat fuck. Don't sue McDonalds, stop gorging yourself there.

I really didn't know which of the Brock threads to put this in, so I chose this one. There is NO way, I repeat NO way, that Brock will make the NFL. There are very limited positions on a team and no team would waste one for publicity or any other reason. Just because Brock is big does not mean he would be a good football player. It takes a lot more than being strong to make it, speed is almost more important in today's NFL. Plus, Brock did not play in college and has been out of college for what 4 years? That would mean that if he played high school ball, the last time he was in an organized game would have been at least 8 years ago. Football is not as easy as put on pads, run around and hit people. Could everyone please stop pretending that the NFL is a viable career option for Brock.

I sold credit cards for MBNA, but sucked at it. I would get around 8 people a day. Other's got between 20 & 30. I would give up right away if a person showed the slightest objection. Not the best hard sell technique. One guy was a total prick to me on the phone and I was having a bad day, so I programed the automatic call back feature to call him every hour. That felt pretty good to do for some reason. I got him again about 4 hours later and he sounded like he was going to blow a fuse. That was the only time I enjoyed the job.

I'd file this under "will never happen", but it would be entertaining if it did. And advantageous for Kerry to balance out his left side with a bit of the right.

I unfortunately used to telemarket for a summer. It was the worst job I have ever had, or will ever have. But, I would probably do this. It seems like easy money, if you time it right. Hell, I could do two hours during Raw every week. You really only need to half pay attention anyways.

McSorley didn't tap him on the head, he took a full swing at him and almost killed him. He probably was aiming at the shoulder, but regardless it was pretty fucked up. In non-fighting news, the Flyers beat NJ in Jersey to put a lot of distance between the teams. I am starting to believe that the Flyers might not fall apart this year in the playoffs. That's how they suck you back in, to crush the spirit once again.

The Eagles signed Dhani Jones to be the new Strongside LB. So the Giants got Emmons & The Eagles got Jones. Jones is younger, but if Emmons is healthy I think he's a much better player. The Eagles desparately need to get some help for Simmeneau (sp?). He was completely worn down by the end of last year.

I actually liked Cruel Intentions 2. I think that it was the unintentional commedy that only a bad movie that is trying to be serious can provide. Plus the lesbian stuff.

Media Draw Fire for Underage Sex Stings
C Dubya 04 replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
It is not entrapment to lure people from the internet. I actually just read an article in Rolling Stone about FBI stings that are done in this exact manner. The problem is authorities can't use the news evidence, so these stings really only embarrass the person, but can't get them in legal trouble.
