    Taliban apologizes for bomb

I think that I read this differently then the rest of you. I took this to mean that they were sorry for hitting the wrong people. They intended to attack American soldiers and thus were not appologizing for the bombing, but rather for not hitting their target. Either way their assholes. And who is the guy who's appologizing. If he's making statements, why doesn't someone just off the fucker.

OK, they've done off the deep end

I'm not going to pretend that Democrats don't mudsling, but it's pretty rediculus to pretend that no Repubican politicians have made negative remarks about the other party. It happens all the time, and it goes both ways.

    Bad News for Eagle Fans

I don't see why people say the Packers are hot right now. Seattle took them to overtime in GB, and considering how bad the Seahawks were on the road that says a lot. Plus, if the Seahawks receivers could catch the fuckin ball it would've been a different outcome. Before that Green Bay beat a Denver team that started a team that would lose Arena games and a bunch of nobodies. They haven't beaten a good team since before the last Eagles game. I'm not even a little bit worried about the Packers right now. And I don't want to hear any of this team of destiny crap. It's football, not the battle of the Gods or anything.

    Beavis & Butt-Head

That was gold, but my favorite video sequence was when they were watching some rap group's video (can't remember who, long time ago) that was set in the snow. Butthead: I didn't know there were black people in Alaska. Beavis: Yeah, they sit around the fire and say 'pass the 40 of hot cocco, biaaaaaaaatch.'

    Tug McGraw passes away

I don't think that many people outside of the NY/Philly areas understand how important Tug was to the people of these cities. I don't know a single person in Philly who doesn't have fond memories of the Tugger, and that includes people who weren't even born in 1980 when he threw "the pitch". There really aren't many athletes who were loved by both cities, as NY & Philly are very different places, but McGraw was. He was truely a person who lived his life to the fullest and will most definitely be remembered as the perfect example of what it means to be a great human. RIP Tug.

    Sell me on a Democrat

Well, I seem to be the oddity on this board in that I support neither Dean or Bush. I am a big fan of John Edwards, but I don't feel he has enough seasoning to make a legitimate canidate. I think that he would be best served to leave the race now and focus his energy on the Senate. Come back in 2008 with a base of supporters already and really make a run. It's hard to give a brief description of anyone running, but I encourage you to check out this link. http://www.johnedwards2004.com/issues.asp I'm a fan of his tax ideas (especially on income from investments), his policies regarding Policemen (which seem to try to get back towards what Clinton did) and his policies that focus on the environment. I also really like that Edwards gives some details to his ideas, instead of simply bashing Bush and offering no solution.

    Ska Punk genre

I used to be a huge fan of early Mighty Mighty Bosstones stuff. They kind of started to suck IMO a few years ago, but their first few albums were really solid. Less than Jake are alright by me too. Now a question..... Does anyone know which ska band did a cover of the Bumble Bee tuna song? It's still stuck in my head from my first year of college about 8 years ago.

    Who's #1

I think that as of right now a split is right. I have no idea who would win if USC played LSU. I think it would have been nice to see, but we won't so no sense bitching about it. As the season ended, there were two teams that deserve to be number one (that made less sense after I typed it). Also, I disagree with people who say there should be a game after the BCS championship to decide the overall winner. That would've worked perfectly this year, but look at last year. It would've made no sense to have OSU play anyone else after beating Miami. The problem is that they keep trying to come up with solutions because of something that happened the year before, instead of looking at an overall best system.

    For those who like Bush...

I defy you to find one political commentator on either side who doesn't use sources friendly to his/her own argument. Franken at least does his research, and quite thoroughly. I agree. Franken's books seem to be the most substantiated of the lot. People are very quick to call a source biased when it goes against what they've always believed. It's easier than looking at the facts and admitting you might have been wrong.

    Favorite Athlete of the Past?

Mike Schmidt. The greatest all around 3rd baseman to play the game. Randal Cunningham. The guy was Mike Vick before there was a Mike Vick. And he was unstoppable in tecmo bowl. Some of his plays are still the most incredible things to watch. Also, I was a big Jerome Brown fan. The ESPN clips of him before this Monday's game got my eyes a little misty. He would've gone down as one of the greatest ever.

    Pro Bowl Rosters Announced

How the fuck can anyone justify putting Warren Sapp in the pro bowl. He's nothing more than a mouth and a distraction. I'm going to get a good laugh next year at whatever team is dumb enough to pick up his contract.

What college are you/did you attend?

Graduate of the University of Delaware in 2000. Tonight we go for the National Championship in football (yeah it's 1AA, but at least we have a playoff system). And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Raven went to UDel.

    Enola Gay plane

I don't get why people protest these kinds of things. Whether you agree with what happened or not, the plane was part of an amazingly significant historical event and should be on display. I wish the museum hadn't shied away from putting together a description of the Hiroshima bombing. Ignoring it won't make protestors go away, and it's ignoring the significance of the plane.

    Halliburton gets more contracts

I don't think that there is any concrete evidence yet that Haliburton is crooked and it's unfair to call them such. But I also do not support giving no-bid contracts to any company. And I really don't think that they should be awarded another no-bid contract if there is some doubt that they are doing the best possible job. Crooked or not, it's their responsibility as a company to make sure that they (and in turn the US government) are not being overcharged for oil from Kuwait.

WWE News: Steiner, Val, The Rock, Edge, More

I think it would've been better to have Foley start the match and then quit in the middle. If they had had his family there, he could have seen them in the crowd and then walked out. I think it is a bad idea to build up a match that people want and then deliver nothing, even if it is a good idea for an angle. Although, I have to admit that I only read the recap and didn't see the show.

    Club Boxes or Luxury Boxes

How are the prices at the bar? Not cheap. I think that they're the same as at the regular places on the concourse, but on the plus side, you don't have to wait or miss any of the game. I think that in some boxes they have food out as well. Cheesesteaks and such for free.

    NFL Playoff Predictions

I think that KC will lose their first round game. They'll probably play either Tenn. or Indy. If they play Indy, I see them giving up about 500 yards of offense and 40 some points. New England vs. Philly is my very very biased pick. I'm extremely Eaglecentric in my NFL mind.

    Club Boxes or Luxury Boxes

I sat in the club box seats for a Sixers game. There wasn't much pampering, but if you're a drinker, there is a bar right in the "box" part. The seats are then down in front of the box. They're good seats too.

    The Heisman trophy........

I have no problem with White winning this award. He put up incredible numbers in a tough conference on a winning football team. The argument that he didn't have a great game doesn't hold up with me. Show me any of the players that had a great game in every game of the season. Larry Fitzgerald (sp?) certainly didn't. He had a chance to showcase his talent in a huge game against Miami, and did nothing except for catching a meaningless touchdown at the end of the game.

    Saddam possibly captured

Given his meek surrender, don't we know now that that wouldn't have squared with his psychology? And in that case, is it still so hard to believe that he wouldn't have used any WMDs he possessed? If not, isn't it obvious that the mere fact that he didn't use WMDs doesn't say anything, anything at all, about whether or not he possessed them? I disagree with you on this. I think that the fact that he didn't use them increases the likelyhood of him not possessing WMDs. And his meek surrender was after 7 months of hiding out. You can't really say that that is an accurate representation of his mental state when the war was ongoing and the Iraqi's still occupied Baghdad. If I'm wrong, good. I hope that we do find WMDs, I'm just not convinced that they're there to be found. If we find them it makes our position with the war seem more just to the rest of the world and the weapons would stay out of the hands of terrorists.

    Saddam possibly captured

Yeah, but I don't think he'd put that much thought into it. Plus, even without using anything, he has to know he's pretty much screwed. I would have expected Saddam to try to go out with a bang and use everything he had to try to do as much damage as possible.

    Gay marriage

Eh, I'm all for gay marriages. It's none of my business anyways I figure and if it makes some people's lives happier then what the hell, go for it. I've never really understood why there's such a backlash against homosexuals anyways. I don't see how they cause any harm to anyone, and everyone should really just mind their own business and move on with their lives.

    Saddam possibly captured

Well, a lot of us believed that he buried them when it became evident that a US attack was inevitable. We've found buried trailers, buried planes, buried everything in Iraq. Tons of place in the desert to bury stuff, so why not WMDs? I just feel that if Saddam had had available WMD's he would have used them on us when the war started. I'll be really surprised if any turn up. But, I still feel that this is an amazing job by the troops overseas and I feel much better about things now that this tyrant has been captured.

    Saddam possibly captured

It's really mind blowing that some people refuse to accept that this is a good thing. Saddam is one of the worst leaders in the history of the world. He was responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. The fact that he was captured is of extreme historical significance and truely a great day for the rest of the world. I would never vote for Bush. I don't think this thread is the place to get into that. But if Bush gets elected because he made this country a safer place by getting rid of Saddam (and probably Bin Laden, whom I believe to be dead), I don't think it's too bad of a thing. On a side note, I don't know how people expect to find WMDs. The Iraqis could not manage to get Saddam out of the country, I don't see how they could have possibly smuggled weapons out.
