Raven's had tons of matches sub-** in the last year. Hell, I'd say a majority have been there.
-
*** is pretty generous there. I thought it was pretty sloppy in parts, but whatever

Their only hope is to run another 1 cent show and win a lot of people back over again. Once you lose those paying customers, they're not going to get burned on that 9.99 again.
-
The numbers took a nosedive after Mantell took over. That much was obvious--the lack of activity here, the massive drop in feedback to the observer and the torch. When you're charging 10 bucks, you can't have a 4 month streak of bad shows. That will kill you. They need to run another 1 cent show--it's their only hope.

He works west coast indies, and has worked for Japan (Z-1) before. I know he's said he'd like to work TNA.
-
Well, Choken, their 1/10 show in Ohio probably ranks in the top 5 ROH shows ever. Hell, maybe even top 3. I would go on down, it should be fun.

I don't think American Dragon would excel in TNA. He is brilliant at matches from 15-45 minutes, but in TNA it often seems like a miracle when an X division match gets 12. Also, he is similar to DK and Chris Benoit, and not really a high flyer. Guys I want in TNA: Samoa Joe: Best heavyweight worker in the US. Oozes charisma, does great promos, and has a move that will get the crowd into him. Homicide: Perfect midcard/uppercard worker for TNA. He's not a great seller or overall worker, but he is great at building drama in matches, has some sweet dives, great moveset, and great workrate. Homicide and Smokes together in TNA would be great. Colt Cabana: The most charismatic guy on the indies. Funny as hell, and a great worker to boot. Adam Pearce: The best old school heel in the US. He can mesh Jarrett heat with fantastic old school matches. He's pretty much a heavyweight, too.

I said I don't want to see it.

As long as he doesn't muck up the current build to the title, I have no problem with it. You could siphon off one of the losers of this build to the title chase into a feud with him. I just don't want to see a DDP vs. Jeff Jarrett feud.
-
Yes, it got pushed back to June 1st.
-
I think it's worth 9.99 definitely. Probably the best 3-way ever, along with a rare Eddy indy appearance (vs. super crazy). Pick it up.
-
The first year of shows have that crappy video production quality. It all changed when the majority of ROH was sold to Silken and he updated all of the lighting and production quality.
-
3-way.
-
The greatest thing about this board is how HHH can do two things right, and his defenders will cite it endlessly as proof that he doesn't hold anyone down, despite all the crap of the last few years. In the end, he jobbed in a 3-way and lost to a rollup. To think a guy could get praise for this is amazing, but then again, it is HGH.

Gabe Sapolsky Heading To Nashville To Meet With TN
Michrome replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
Well thankfully someone did it, because I've responded to those same idiotic points on countless messageboards. Anyway, as it turns out, all TNA wants is for ROH to sign a document garaunteeing Rob is gone. This way, if it turns out he's not, they can claim they were defrauded, and won't be guilty by association. Smart, right? I can't help but wonder why they didn't just call Gabe in the first place and ASK FOR THIS. Why did they go to the talent first and just ask them to leave RoH if this was their issue? The more likely story is they asked these guys to leave, Daniels and Styles balked, the internet went nuts, people started calling fox, and they made this the issue in order to save face, because if this was really the issue the whole time, the way they dealt with it is almost as bad as RoH's PR after the RF incident. Either way, it looks like all will be fine. -
Well, I'm happy that we're done with this crap. If this is all they wanted, they should have just called ROH and asked for it in the first place instead of trying to get wrestlers to leave the promotion.

I honestly blame ECW more than TNN for the failure. What kind of morons rip the TV station running your program on your show? Further, the ECW product was awful by the time ECW got on TNN. Had they got this type of national deal in 1995, then I think they would have gained massive popularity. However, by the time they were on TV, the only appeal was the occasional *** junior match, and Tanaka vs. Awesome matches. WCW had better juniors, and who is going to stay home friday night for one hardcore cool match? The product wasn't good enough in 99 to draw fans. Right now, I think TNA will have to step it up a notch to draw a national fanbase.

Amazing. What should they do? Get a notary stamp that anyone can get in 5 minutes? It wouldn't prove a damn thing. They have followed every legal step to remove Rob in PA, but yet it's not enough. The idea that they need to follow every corporate filing law in different states, despite the fact that many are directly contradictory, has got to be the most hilarious thing I've heard all week. I guess it's worth one more try: Let's say you take a 1 week vacation to California. Should you have to get a brand new California driver's license to drive there for a week, even though you're not a permanent resident? Of course not. The different state corporate laws, much like the drivers license laws, apply to corporations whose headquarters are in that state. ROH ran a show in England too, should they hire an expert in English law to go through those corporate proceedings too? Just fascinating. -
I think they've hit a groove with this road to the gold thing. This is Dutch Mantell booking when it works--the long build to a title match that everyone will care about because it's been built up so much. Hell, they might even sell a thousand tickets for that cage match, especially if it's Raven-JJ. When the show gets on a roll, I think switching gears to bring in said guys would be a waste. They are just now recovering from the first Hogan debacle, and I don't think it's worth it to try again. They are close to the fox deal without Hogan, and frankly, they have a better chance of succeeding with hot weekly television than with Hogan there. It is commonly thought that if someone like Hogan is on the show, casuals will tune in to see him, then see the other guys, and stay weekly. As logical as this sounds, none of the companies that have rose to prominence in the US in the last 10 years have followed this route. In the WCW revival, Hogan and CO were the stars. They weren't there to draw fans to see the other guys...the other guys were just there because Hogan couldn't be on for 2 hours a show. People watched for the NWO. In the WWE, the revival was sparked by the lightning in a bottle they caught with Steve Austin, and the creative groove they got in for a year. Nearly all the guys that became huge draws were no-names just 2 years earlier, and they didn't do it by having 2 old guys on top while Steve Austin was tearing up the midcard. I don't deny the value of having someone like Sting put over AJ Styles clean in the middle of the ring, but from what I've seen, I don't think Sting will do it. Everytime Raven and AJ Styles fight, the crowd is electric. I think it's time to build to that match as a major match down the line. It's time to put the belt on Raven, and build towards Raven-Styles as the main program. Jarrett can continue in a feud with Harris on the upper midcard, or maybe Killings...who knows (or cares). There is definitely "magic" when AJ and Raven either are in a match together, or are fighting elsewhere....they should capitalize on it.

For the trillionth time, getting the papers notarized WOULDN'T PROVE A DAMN THING. It would make no difference whatsoever. Business Corporation ownership changes in PA are NOT FILED WITH THE STATE. The only ones that are are limited liability partnerships, and non-profit organizations. All business corporations only file upon creation, and not again. Good god, they even BOLD the fact that notarization isn't necessary on the fucking DOJ website. -

You're joking, right? By this logic, ROH would need to file seperate state income taxes for every show they run in a different state. The only state law they're accountable to is the one where their business is it. -
2 weeks.

Sounds like a decent show.

Keller is so uninformed when it comes to Indies. As amazing as Red is (no pun intended), there are lots of guys out there that can do every spot he can, and more. Hell, some of them can work solid singles matches too.
-
According to Wade Keller, if WWE hired Amazing Red they would add .2 to their ratings weekly because of his highspots
