Yes, but it was terrible. None of the Super 8 matches were really very good at all. I didn't think it was possible for someone to have less charisma than Chad Collyer, but Chance pulls it off. It looked like he was taking a wrestling technique test, and trying to get an A, instead of, you know, putting a good match together. Part of the reason 2003 Super 8 wasn't even close to the Super 8 of year's past was his advancement.

Yes yes, I'm the big RoH fan, but hear this out. Both feds would definitely benefit from something like this. Do it in april, over the period Danielson will likely be in town, and you could form this RoH team: Danielson, Homicide, and The Briscoes. Doing this would accomplish everything TNA wants, and offset any adverse effects of a taped show. All of the smart marks who read the tapings would still watch the show because Danielson-Juvi, or Danielson-Lynn would rock the fucking house, as would some of the other matches. In terms of money and buyrates, TNA benefits. In terms of getting its name out to more people, RoH benefits. TNA could win once, RoH could win once, and nobody loses anything. What factors would keep something like this from happening?

If he's really f'n good, I've clearly seen the wrong stuff. His RoH work was awful, as were his Super 8 matches. I haven't seen anything since that though, so tell me what I need to see.

Someone send their feedback a link of this thread.

I think that may be a little too simplistic. Many people are willing to pay for any wrestling--the fact that TNA gets buys with how bad the shows are is proof of this.
-
RoH does benefit more--but TNA will also benefit. So they can decide whether they want to forego a benefit just because RoH will get more, or go through with it.
-
You act as if TNA has a ton to offer RoH. If some fans in Nashville find out what RoH is, so what? RoH still doesn't have TV, and runs 2 house shows a month in the northeast. I'd venture to guess that outside of the Nashville fans, most tna watchers have heard of RoH. Also, you act as though short-term buys aren't a big deal for TNA.

This is not new.

TCinDC, they gain a lot. The fear on a taped week is that all of their internet Smark fans will not buy the show, because they know the results in advance. However, if the show had matches like American Dragon vs. Jerry Lynn, what smark wouldn't want to see that? You offset the problem of having it taped by appealing to workrate fans that never buy TNA.

The Eddy-Brock segment from Smackdown gained a whopping 746,000 viewers, by far the highest gain on the show. Lesnar's interviews used to get minimal gains, but with Eddy, they're doing huge ratings. Eddy is safe as can be.

I haven't seen a good Christian singles match in forever, no reason to believe I'll see one at Mania.

Chavo being in the battle royale makes no sense. I'd have thought they would have the winner face him immediately.

I really think this would be great. TNA has no problem plugging RoH all over their site, as BPS said, so why not? I can assure you that RoH has no intention of running Tenessee, so there is no threat as far as that goes. You have to keep a few things in mind, though. None of the guys working for both promotions, with the exception of midcard guys, like Lynn and Sabin, can be in it. Gabe isn't about to blow AmDrag vs. Punk for TNA in a 7 minute match...no fucking way. The team I came up with is exactly what you had though, BPS: American Dragon Homicide Jay Briscoe Mark Briscoe Put this group up against: Jerry Lynn Chris Sabin America's Most Wanted This_would_rule.

Who needs CZW and XPW, yuck Anyway, it would be better to keep it company exclusive so they can continue to do this with different companies for months.
-
Wait...ohmigod...do you mean to tell me that Benoit-Shawn, with nothing on the line, and 1 week of hype, did just as well in the ratings as HHH-Shawn did with 2 weeks of hype and the world title on the line? BURY THE EVIDENCE STAT.
-
Just as a comment on last week--I agreed with most of it, but I think you massively overrated the main event.
-
I love the idea of all these shows with great matches for the taped ones...assures a lot of internet buys, even though you'd usually lose out on those with a taped show. One of the few smart things TNA has done in the last year, honestly. Now we just need to get Team Japan, Team RoH, etc in there. This could end up being a really fun interpromotional gig.

Honestly, I think Angle is winning the belt at Mania, and Eddy will start his legitimate chase that everyone bitched for a few days ago. Clearly, Eddy is money, and the win over Brock cements him as a main eventer, it's now time to make the fans die to see Eddy get the belt back in a long chase.

There are far too many better junior workers in the US than Sonjay for him to be let in. His selling is really, really sporadic. In fact, the *majority* of his matches I've seen of his have had very mediocre, or poor selling. If the ECWA Super 8 wants to get back the prestige it had after 2001, it needs to shy away from booking spot guys.

None of the PPVS listed compare to J-day 2000. The best WWE ironman match ever, a cool submission match, a fun 3-way, a real fun opener...blows away the cards mentioned above. The fact that vengeance is being touted as having multiple **** matches REALLY makes me wonder where the fuck standards have gone.

Oh, I think Teddy will be more than OVER...the reaction will be huge. Half of the fans will boo the crap out of him, about 30% will try to be louder and cheer for him, while the remaining 20% of casuals will not know what to do. Honestly, if Teddy starts having **** matches, I'm all for having him in RoH.
-
But who in their right mind will pay 29.95, the price they want to charge, for 2 hours and 40 minutes when they get 1 hour and 40 minutes for 10? Especially when the planned card includes Jarrett vs. Savage and Chyna vs. Jonny Fairplay, it will do less buys than the Wednesday show. At this point, the show is in such a funk booking-wise that they should focus on getting their Wednesday shows back together before worrying about a Sunday.
-
They are still providing the **** matches in spades, along with the angles, so who cares?
-
I never really liked their matches too much, they were always so formulaic. Start with a couple gymnastic sessions, and move right to the big spots and kick spots. I've never seen one that I would consider in the upper tier of Juniors matches.

Oh god, nothing more annoying than the anti-smark AA meetings moved onto message board posts. I swear I'm not a smark, I really enjoy it guys! It makes me a real fan to appreciate bad wrestling! Other than No Way Out 2001 and WM X-7, WWE hasn't put on a better PPV than J-Day 2000 since it happened.
