How can someone POSSIBLY argue Michaels over Benoit without seeing Benoit's Japan stuff? This is the kind of idiotic shit that kills this board. Let me try the equivalent: "Flair is clearly the better worker. Every Flair match with the same guy as Shawn has been worse. Flair vs. Austin from Raw was worse than Shawn-Austin, Flair-HHH is worse than Shawn-HHH, Flair/Bret wasn't as good as Shawn/Bret, and Shawn/Jericho was way better than Flair Jericho. Oh, and I've never seen anything Ric Flair did before 1991."
-
Shawn has been a ratings killer since Summerslam 02. All of the numbers show it, but nobody wants to believe it.
-
The Flair segment is the best in the history of Nitro. There's some stuff being left off that was really key, but oh well.
-
Huh? In 2001, which was his best year, he had FANTASTIC TV matches with Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and Booker T. He was in all sorts of great tag main events in the first 3 months of the year, and was almost always in the TV MoTN. What are you talking about?

Who cares if Goldberg won't job? He doesn't have to job. Build up unstoppable undefeated Goldberg, have him plow through Jarrett, and go completely undefeated until another star is created truly worth putting over Berg. If he refuses, just release him.
-
Another silly point is saying no-one is a draw. Eddy and Rey are big house show draws, and Eddy has been a big ratings draw too. There are still people that draw, just less of them.
-
Saying Goldberg is not a draw anymore is silly. He still does incredible merchandise sales, did great ratings as champ, and did a better-than-expected buyrate against Hunter in September. Goldberg is more of a draw than Nash, Hall, and Savage combined. Who else can honestly say they've pinned Rock, Hogan, Hunter, Jericho, Shawn, Page, Sting, Nash....Getting Goldberg would be worth more than getting all of these other clowns. Zach arnold made some good points about him the other day: A huge problem TNA has had is getting In Demand to show confidence in the show, and advertise it. If they do the big 3 hour PPV, and have Goldberg on it, In Demand would probably actually advertise for it.

I've never really bought into Knoble being as good as he's pimped to be. For being someone with mat skills that so many people pimp, he's really yet to have an awesome, blowaway TV match. Matt Hardy, Chavo, Eddy, and Tajiri all had better TV matches with Rey.....I'm still yet to be shown by Knoble that he's at that level too.
-
I wouldn't say "a hell of a lot more." Clearly you haven't seen all of Chavo's stuff. I'll take Chavo on the mat over Knoble 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

There was no interpreting done here. You can't possibly believe that the Massachussetts state constitution, a document that refers to the "great legislator of the universe", and speaks of the "duty" of everyone to worship god, was meant to provide for gay marriage. I'm sure John Adams, the very religious man who wrote it, would be shocked to find out that he really intended for gay marriage to be legal in Massachussetts. Give me a break.

I just hope it's Spanky as the mystery opponent--that would be cool.

What has TNA done in the last 6 months to earn anybody's benefit of the doubt? I root for TNA's survival, because without them, AJ, Daniels, and Punk would be in Japan all the time, and I wouldn't get to see them. The day that panda pulls the plug has to be looming, though.
-
Oh, give me a break. Tons of promotions all over the world did this before the thought of creating TNA ever came into the mind of Jerry Jarrett.
-
I don't see why Benoit-Flair not getting a rating would lead to Michaels getting the spot. Michaels is yet to draw anything since Summerslam 02.
-
I pretty much agree with your card TDCC, but I would have the Sabin/Juvi 3rd match for the X title, since a Michael Shane match is not what you want to show off your X division with. Replace Juvi in the 6 man with Jack Evans, and you're set.
-
He's not going to get over being the # 2 babyface to Shawn. Shawn needs to turn heel at the contract signing next week.
-
Oh cmon, plenty of the best Junior matches of all time have had lots of groundwork in them. If it means more matches like Knoble-Rey from SD, I'm all for it. Building with early matwork all the way into the big spots at the end makes them mean more, and will lead to better matches. 15-20 minutes of Rey and Chavo is all good.
-
The crowd reacting doesn't mean it's working. The crowd gave Hogan a 10 minute standing ovation, and it didn't draw any rating at all. Let's wait and see if Taker is still a ratings killer when he comes back.
-
Oh, I don't know, treating him like a low card jobbed since late 2000 hasn't really helped much, now has it? There's only so many times you can make the guy out to be a loser before fans believe it. He needs to pin Hunter in a tag pronto, because the guy is just a loser who never wins to the fans.
-
Rico only has a future if they repackage him. I'm looking forward to Van Dam hitting the indies later this year, I want to see if he can hang with the new kids.
-
I'd be all for a Killings push, wrestling guys like AJ and Punk would only help him improve. Alluding to your question above, I don't see why it has to be Killings OR Punk...why can't it be both? A monster face push for Killings, and a monster heel push for Punk?
-
I think saying Taker had a great 2003 is a bit silly. He had one real good match all year (vs. Angle), and everything else was bad-decent. I haven't had such a good laugh since I saw people creaming themselves over the craptastic Chain On A Pole match at No Mercy.

The ode to WM X thing is not happening. HHH does not have the endurance to do it, he was gassed at the Rumble after 23 minutes of laying around.
-
Of course, that won't work, because fans will see Benoit as a loser because he blew his chance again. How many times must HHH do this until people see that he kills their heat in the first month, justifying more wins for him down the line?
-
Given Shawn's track record of matches with guys smaller than him, I don't think Benoit-HBK is going to come close to what a lot of us have in mind.
