The key is doing a Wrestlemania that isn't chalk filled with dream matches involving old stars against each other, but rather those stars against the young guys. A feud with The Rock would do as much for John Cena as this feud with Foley is doing for Orton. Who benefits from Kane-Taker? Kane had one last chance to be a draw, and that was right after he lost his mask. He was drawing ratings and crowd interest, but the WWE killed it via the Shane feud. Wrestlemania XX needs to get people excited about the future, with a few doses of nostalgia. This is the main reason I would go crazy if the Raw main event is made a 3-way...nobody benefits. Shawn *should* be jobbing to Jericho in a rematch from last year at Mania, but lord knows that ain't happening.

Well, they might give a fuck if they get these guys over as a fun tag team before rushing this feud.
-
No one gives a fuck about them because they're booked as a joke. Their matches are the shortest, they never have any reason to be fighting, and they're being grounded as of late. On top of all of this, Vince kills any draw of the cruisers by having them face The Big Show, and making a joke out of the whole thing. There's a reason New Japan keeps their junior and heavyweights apart. If Oscar De La Hoya ever fought Lennox Lewis, and got his ass whipped, his drawing power would be way, way down. This is exactly what has happened with cruiserweights in America. They're treated as "cute little foriegners", and nothing more.

PWG ''Taste The Radness'' Feb 22 Santa Ana CA
Michrome replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
This card looks fucking sick. -
Hostile City Showdown 95 Hands Down for me. The best ECW match ever, by far (Guerrero-Malenko), an early taste of ECW's hottest feud (Raven-Tommy), and a sick main event brawl with Cactus and Funk. This show was the shit.

Really, was it on the line last year?
-
After downloading the show, I agree with you on everything until...the main event. God this was fucking terrible, it was an abortion of wrestling, just a pathetic joke. Horrible punches, business-exposing work....I never want to see Eric Watts wrestle again. I think Keller was leanient on it with -*
-
God what a fucking tool.

It's great that they brought Benoit over to carry these two lumps to a good match and be overshadowed at the same time. Can HHH even climb a ladder? Fuck the WWE, this better not be true.

I love around the horn, it's usually pretty damn funny. Didn't catch it today, though.

They would stop losing money, which is step 1 before making money. They would be able to build up shows on free tv, and could make the shows downloadable online for those that don't have the Sunshine network. It would build to one event per month that could even be 14.99 for 3 hours, and would at least garauntee people good matches and major events.
-
I think they should do a monthly PPV for 9.99, and make the sunshine network show their primary one.
-
Halfway through downloading now, will give thoughts later.

Answer to above: Angle vs. Lesnar is absolutely dead as can be as a draw.

After reading the review from Keller, it looks like we may have a contender for Worst NWA:TNA show ever.
-
Hey, that could be a good match.

Anyone wanna give us live results? :-D

John Cena's popularity didn't take off until September, the last month counted here, and neither did his merchandise. Billy Gunn was rarely on Smackdown, and surely got some curiosity viewers for his few big return matches. Gail Kim has had how many matches on Raw? Of course Kevin Nash is a bigger draw than Booker T, Booker has been made to look like a chump. Plus, Nash was in the main event from may-August in this, while Booker was not. Charlie Haas was thrown into multiple tag main events and tag title matches, the match with Kidman and Rey, and the matches with Eddy and Tajiri did very well in the ratings. If you use your brain, you can think most of these out.
-
I'm pretty sure he's accounting for individual matches. If Moore is out with Hardy, he doesn't get the points.
-
The Vince and Steph numbers are high because they've been established as the most important characters in the company. When one comes out, you can be sure to find out what's going to be happening on the show, and maybe what is going to happen on the PPV. They rarely have a segment without something of consequence happening.
-
If you actually read the numbers, you have to think about some of them. Some people, like Zach Gowen and Maven, didn't have very many TV appearances, and when they did it usually involved one of those huge ratings draws that pumps the numbers up. For example, Zach was involved in multiple Vince/Steph interview segments that usually draw 600,000 viewers or more, he was in that thing with Brock Lesnar, etc. Maven also experienced a similar effect, being thrown into 3 or 4 big evolution major tags that heavily inflated his numbers. The guys to judge are guys that are on every show, and guys who are always in the main event vs. guys who are in the midcard. The idea that "nobody is drawing right now" is a total copout. Clearly, Mick Foley is drawing, and so is Steve Austin. Why are two non-wrestlers drawing so much? Frankly, it's because WWE hasn't created any stars close to that level since they retired. Guys like Guerrero and Mysterio are two of the biggest ticket-movers WWE has right now in terms of house shows and live events, another bit of ammunition against the "small guys can't draw" crowd.
