The PWG brackets have been released, and the press release is actually their least funny one yet, you can read it at their website. One notable thing is that the next show will be in Santa Ana...thank god I didn't decide to fly down. Im just going to name the teams here: Top side: Phoenix Star/Zokre vs. Chris Bosh and Quicksilver (I hate Chris Bosh...please let Star and Zokre win) Scott Lost/Joey Ryan vs. M-Dogg 20/Jardi Frantz (Will range from terrible to bad) Havana Pitbulls vs. Hardcore Kidd/Alkatrazz (This will suck) SuDrag/AmDrag vs. Johnny Storm/Excalibur (Meh, I dislike Johnny Storm a lot, and have mixed feelings on excalibur, could be a good asskicking.) Bottom side: Hero/Punk vs. Daniels/Messiah (Daniels and Messiah is a funny pairing, but Hero and Punk go over. Could be good if Messiah gets in a car accident on his way to the show.) Thomasellis vs. Apollo/Sara Del Ray (Why god, why?) Ballards vs. Joe/Puma (Weak mystery team, but oh well. I think the Ballards will win here) B-Boy/Homicide vs. Disco Machine and Rising Son (Should be a fun match) Also scheduled for the first night is Frankie Kazarian vs. Adam Pearce for the PWG title. Overall, the first night looks like ass, but since it's being released as a 2-tape/dvd set when it comes out, they want to have the final matches be the best. On night 2 we will likely get Havana Pitbulls vs. Double Dragons (Drool), Cide/B-Boy vs. Hero/Punk (Awesome), and possibly Double Dragons vs. Hero/Punk (Kickass..). Night 2 should rock, night 1 looks meh.

Uhm...if this is true, Ill go buy tickets when its confirmed.

Having seen Styles-Hero, I still think London-Styles was better, and Styles-Dragon from 11/1 is about on par with the Hero one.

Mark Henry is the star of Raw. Every week he finds a way to make his matches entertaining, and man is he badass. All hail 2004's Raw wrestler of the year, Mark Henry. By the way, the main event was fucking awful.
-
Austin the heel sheriff in promos against John Cena the babyface would probably grab my attention. I honestly think the next evolution of Austin's character is to have him get drunk with power, and "realize" how wrong he was in 98 and 99. As a heel, he could put over some faces.

Almost all of the Punk-Hero matches are gold. Homicide-Hero is Cide's best non-brawl ever. By the way, Acid-Cide from 9/6 is a lot better than Wrestlerave, so check that out.

That's what I get for coming home drunk and posting the review without spellcheck. Anyway, I just made a grammar run and edited most of it, sorry about that.

A Shocker appearance would get a buy out of me. Fuck Shocker vs. some TNA guy, just bring him up with Ultimo Guerrero and let them have a match, I'll be there.
-
I am nearly sure it was a work. Daniels will be gone until 3/13 with Japan commitments, and they did this to help explain the absence. If this was real, we'd know by now.
-
You guys think there's any chance London makes the rumble?
-
We'll see how they build it. I want Rudo Eddy vs. Babyface Angle, I think that'd rule. Would probably be MoTN, too. I will go to No Way Out if the card is good, and if Eddy-Angle is on, I'm there.

I honestly think you try to misunderstand posts. That's really my only explanation. He's a borderline jobber in TNA because the people running the promotion are FUCKING MORONS. You can't just stick someone who you've never given any character development time to into a match with the number one babyface in the company and have anyone believe it. If Maven faced The Rock at Wrestlemania, would it draw any money? No. The attempt to make up for their bad booking of him by putting him in a stable with an evil manager isn't going to do jack shit for him, just like joining evolution wouldn't do jack shit for Maven. Give him some mic time (god knows Jarrett and Watts got no reaction for 20 minutes), let him establish why he truly hates Raven, and let the fans know WHO CM Punk is. Just some random guy carrying out the plot of James Mitchell is not good enough.

Backstage incident between Corina/Hart
Michrome replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in General Wrestling
The Danielson thing was a work of course. The fact that Teddy Hart went over Bryan Danielson is enough for me to boycott MLW. Teddy Fucking Hart over American Dragon? That's ridiculous. -
That's pretty much a laughable statement. Check out the Wrestlerave one, by far the promo of the year. His promo at 8/16 was amazing, and the one on Funk at 9/20 was sick too. He takes crowds unwilling to boo heels and makes them boo the everloving shit out of him just with promos. He doesn't cheat or pull bullshit, his character alone gains heat. He carried Raven's worthless ass to feud of the year in RoH, with amazing promo show after show while Raven contributed jack shit in terms of mic-work and wrestling. The way to push him isn't by aligning him with some manager to speak for him. The fact that he's an undercarder is a moot point because the morons at TNA put him in that position. OK, so he's an undercarder right now...what does that prove other than the fact that the people running TNA have their heads up their ass? I'm not implying Raven is holding Punk down, but if Raven is going to be inserting friends into all of his feuds, then he should lose creative control over his programs. I don't pay 10 bucks to see Raven play with his friends. What TNA (and you) don't seem to get is that the fans have to have an emotional connection with characters to care about their matches. It does nothing for CM Punk if he gets booed because Mitchell is his manager, just like it did nothing for Test getting cheered because Stacy was his valet. When said manager leaves, what's left? Why oh why was the crowd so silent for the first match of this feud after a major turn on the last show? Partly because the TNA crowds are always dead lately, but also because Punk and Dinero have been treated as complete jobbers and aren't going to be taken seriously unless they're given a chance to develop characters. Acting as hired assasins of some sort is not going to do it.

I enjoyed it Laz, keep it up.
-
It's still dumbfounding that he didn't get a major in-ring promo segment to explain himself after his turn was the major thing of the last show. The guy has the best mic skills in the U.S. right now outside of The Rock, and they're giving him a damn manager. The Raven-Punk feud has clearly been established as second to the Raven-Jim Mitchell feud, which is pathetic. I can't wait for 2 months from now when the big blowoff to this whole thing is another Raven-Jim Mitchell match, and Punk/Dinero are jobbing in 4 minute openers.
-
Thank god we now have a spokesperson for CM Punk.
-
Did Punk get a lot of talking time?
-
Oh, I'm sorry, I was just basing my prediction on how fucking horrible TNA was in 2003. When they drop the ball on the feud Wednesday, I'll accept your apologies.

How about this one Gosh, I'm such a nerdy fantasy booker: Benoit fights his way from number 1 all the way to the end of the Rumble, and wins it. The next Smackdown! Paul Heyman reveals that a contract he signed before the Rumble makes it impossible for Benoit to ever get a shot at Brock again. Benoit goes on the path of rage following the decision, and "quits", but Heyman won't let him because his contract is iron clad. In response to this, Benoit beats Heyman into a bloody pulp, and appeals the decision to the board. The board states that while Heyman's contract is iron clad, the contract of the winner to get a title shot at WM is iron clad too, so Benoit has been traded to Raw, where he will face HHH for the title at Wrestlemania. He has been traded for Bill Goldberg, who will face Kurt Angle, John Cena, and Eddy Guerrero in a 4-way at No Way Out for a shot at Lesnar at WM. Goldberg wins, duh, but now here's the twist. The night after No Way Out, on Raw, they build to a "huge announcement" at the end of the show....the winners of the two title matches face each other, on the same night, in a title vs. title main event to unify the belts.
-
I'm kind of annoyed that Punk isn't getting extended mic time to explain his turn. A match already? Somehow I think this will just be a side feud to Raven's feud with JJ.
-
3LK's new single is supposed to make me want this show?
-
With Nash's contract up with WWE, and Scott Hall floating around, does anyone think for a second that TNA isn't scrambling to get them to show up as the NWO to restart the angle? COULD it work? It might get them some curiosity buys :/

Guys like Chris Hero and Bryan Danielson don't shine in 3-ways or 4-ways because those matches are inherently spotfests and Hero/Danielson excel at building to moves, telling a story, etc.
