I will be SO PISSED if MLW books Hero vs. Dragon. They will ruin it by putting it in front of a crowd that will likely chant "boring", and will probably give it only 15 minutes max, although it needs at least 35. This match needs to happen in IWA:MS or RoH. PWG would be "eh", but I could deal with it. And yes, Gabe said Hero is not coming into Roh.
-
I thought it would happen, but Gabe pretty decisively shot it down. Then again, he shot down a surprise at 12/27 too. I'd love it, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. Stryker-Hero has happened before, too.

Dave asks him what TNA needs to succeed and he says....they need TV. Well, isn't that insightful and great. Sigh, wish there had been time for calls to ask him if there's any chance of them getting that, or at least ask some other interesting questions.

The best ever was the 2/3 falls double dog collar match that was essentially a bloody angle, that ended with the Pitbulls winning the belts and 911 chokeslamming fonz.

Xavier-Daniels from BFSE is fabulous, most underrated match this year. Also, Stryker-Whitmer is solid from 8/16

Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4
Michrome replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in The WWE Folder
It matters because there's a distinction between good, great, and perfection. -
Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4

The match was a joke....the MMA-style moves were SO out of place, unlike the Angle match, where it seemed like UT was trying to beat Angle at his own game. The lack of use of chain killed the whole match, because no nearfall was believable until the chain got involved. It was way too long, plodding as hell, and had a horrible ending. -

Brock-UT was horrible IMO. Yeah, I didnt understand his ironman rating either, he complained about the parts that sucked and then gave it a great rating. Huh? -
Way off, the crowds are 75% papered most of the time, I don't think theyve sold more than 600 tickets in the last year.

Smackdown Crew Happy About Iraq and other WWE news

Haha....booking himself to kiss Trish, a brilliant man! -
HHH-Edge...AWESOME. Edge was just busting into the Smackdown! ME scene near the end there, and he will be red hot upon return.

TNA barely even tries to play the game of acting like its real. Most of their fans are internet fans, and most of the live crowd craps on Michael Shane every time. The Hardy Boys were voted tag team of the year by WWE fans in 2000 despite having a horrible win/loss record, fans look at the entertainment factor, not wins/losses. Your view of marks is condescending....most of my friends are marks, but all of them that are over 7 years old know it's fake, and don't judge things by the outcome.

Everything I've read says there was barely any reaction at all.

God damn, some of this looks really good. I think Hero can drag something great out of Collyer, and I KNOW he can do something great with the shitty M-Dogg 20, since I saw them have a near **** match. 1/9 looks amazing, 1/10 looks OKAY...

Do Meltzer, Keller, Scherer, etc. have day jobs?
Michrome replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Meltz does just fine. He was doing better when he had the daily radio show, but he still makes pretty good money. Also figure in, on top of those sales, tons of one-time sales of special issues, advertising, wrestling gold dvds, etc. Scherer: I don't know. Keller: I don't know. Mitchell is a teacher during the day. -
His comments about Eddy-Dean are laughable. HCS is better than anything Raven has ever done by miles and miles. Remember Benoit-Malenko from HW 96? It was GREAT, and the fact that the inbred biker idiots only wanted to see Hogan should not make their performance any less noteworthy. 6/3/94 is the best men's singles match ever in front of that Japanese crowd or in front of the HW 96 crowd. It just doesn't matter. By the way, isn't the drop toehold to a chair a highspot? What makes that any better than a tope con hilo? Raven's matches have been disgustingly formulaic for years, he has no business talking others down for being spotty. He's far more spotty than CM Punk or Chris Daniels.

It's a new year, so what can be done on 1/7 to get the year off to a real good start? Well, first of all, the odds are that they're going to book Sting-Jarrett for the title along with Ultimate X. We'll also finally get to see CM Punk get some mike time, which should be great if he lights up that crowd of worthless alcoholics. The show looks promising. However, what can be done to reverse the current path of boredome on the show? Ever since the 1 cent show, things have been going downhill, they should take these 2 weeks to stop the bleeding. * Give CM Punk a microphone and 10 minutes and let him become the biggest draw TNA has. The crowd will be ready to riot by the time he's done. A long, drawn out feud with turns, bloody matches, and the eventual win for Raven to get his blowoff with JJ will DRAW. * Get the title off of Shane now. Put the title on Chris Daniels, who already has an issue with Low Ki. With Sabin, Skipper, Ki, Daniels, and Shane all intertwined, we could have some great matches. * Let AJ and Dlo chase after the tag titles. Everybody is sick of the damn AMW chase, and god knows Styles won't be getting the title. * Bring in some guys while cutting loose some others. Guys like Samoa Joe and Chris Hero would get way over in a hurry, and so would Colt Cabana. Why does Abyss have a job while Joe doesn't? * How about we get a babyface commisioner who wasn't a jobber on WCW Worldwide? Erik Watts is a JOKE. Get this clown off the screen. Hire Steamboat or something. Hell, do we NEED commisioners? Can't they be different than WWE and have wrestlers handling things themselves? Have pre-set matches made by the board of directors, and grudge matches can be made through challenges. * One last thing. We need to have circumstances on the show, once every 2 or 3 weeks where a big match is made at the beginning of the show in some kind of interview and then HAPPENS on the same show. There HAS to be some sort of unpredictability. If fans think something big might happen, they will buy the show even if the preview looks lame. As it is now, I only buy shows if the preview looks great.

I was thinking the same thing Mike, but I also have been thinking the same thing about panda throwing their money away. A video game would be a big deal.

The same argument could be made against Michael Shane.

Isn't this just Todd Martin's list? Guerrera-Sabin as a MoTY is insane.

IWA Mid-South Winter Wars 2003 Results
Michrome replied to Phoenix Fury Legdrop's topic in General Wrestling
Just to get an idea, how was Hero/Styles compared to, say, Styles/London? The knee was worked in that match too and with Hero being arguably better than London, I can see it maybe being better. -
4/12 absolutely blows away 3/1. Where, may I ask, is the psychology not *perfect*? London's selling of the leg put's Steamboat's selling to shame, the story is incredibly deep, they build off of prior matches, and every big move in the match is built to. This match was perfect.
