Kind of. They've been hyping Vito's "undefeated streak" since doing the dress-wearing gimmick. So I don't understand why would they setup a potential match between a rookie with a good gimmick who can talk and Vito? I think that Vito's eventually going to be transitioned into a 'bodyguard" gimmick for MVP once he does a few jobs. Also, anyone notice Vito's gotten really skinny looking? -

Thanks for the lineup, GS. WOW...Finlay/Rey, a Kennedy title defense, Champs+tits/Freebirds+titles, Lashley/Regal stiffness, MIZ/HARDY, Tatanka sick chops, and a World Title match. That's awesome. Wonder what MVP will be doing tonight? And NO VITO! Every segment looks like it will be good to very good. -

I encourage people to watch Smackdown!, as even on an "off night" like last week, it was enjoyable. I'm gonna watch as much as I can tonight, and can totally name 10 people off the top of my head that are fun to watch: 1- Sylvester Terkay 2- Kendrick & London 3- The Pitbulls 4- Stevens & James 5- Finlay 6- Mr. Kennedy 7- Bobby Lashley 8- King Booker 9- Gregory Helms 10- Matt Hardy 11- The Miz Shit, even friggin' TATANKA looked awesome last week. I'm not "offended" by Vicki/Chavo/Rey like the lame hypocritical rest of the IWC, I'm just not interested in Chavo Guerrero, whose career ran its course in 2001, I believe. Or Rey, who has done everything possible in his career. Or a non-attractive woman who obviously isn't a wrestling-business personality. Boring. Batista looks like shit, wrestles like shit, and botched the table spot last week. I hate him. King Booker, though, totally owns him in every possible way each time they're in each other's way, so I watch it. WATCH SMACKDOWN! As opposed to ECW/Raw, where Jeff Hardy & CM Punk have been the only non-stale, watchable acts on two awful shows filled with McMahons, gay acts, wrestlers half-assing their tired, sloppy, stale acts (RVD/Sabu, Sandman, Spirit Squad, DX, Pig Show), or young wrestlers who aren't ready for their positions not even having good matches (Nitro, Orton, Knox). _______________ Stuff I want to happen: The Fabulous Freebirds double-DDT either the Pitbulls or Kendrick/London straight to hell again. Hell, let the 'birds win the belts tonight and have the two better working teams kill each other trying to get them. Kennedy defends the title against Finley or Lashley, DQ ending. After last week's "HOW DID THIS SUCK?" boring trainwreck, Kennedy needs a good bout to kick off the title reign. Bring the stiffness. Booker pins Batista. Please. Not clean, but Booker needs some credibility to go with his flawless comedy (both subtle and intentional). More Helms/Hardy goodness. Tag match. Elevate some younger guys. MIZ cheating to win. (Sounds like all he has is an interview, though). ....HOORAH! And finally, let Terkay backhand some poor jobber to hell. -
With all due respect Leena, you'll never be made a moderator because you had a mental breakdown/disappeared as a simple poster, much less someone with "power" & responsibility. Plus you're asking way too much.

Byrnes is SO safe. I'm convinced of it after seeing SportsCenter like 3 times tonight. Watch that foot.

For Bob Barron! The Duff Sisters' shit-fest "Material Girls" has moved into an 8-way tie for the 2nd worst movie of all-time, according to IMDB. It shares its horrid script and acting with such winners as "From Justin to Kelly", "Santa With Muscles", "Baby Geniuses 2", "Going Overboard", "Phat Girlz", "Zoom", and "3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain". Two Hogan stinkers! "Oh no, not even our multiple acting coaches for a Disney TV show of all things could help us! WAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like, we sure suck sis!" "No no I need u to b popular, OMG, what will my sister's, I mean my 7th Heaven fans think?" Look out Troll 2, you're next! -
Eric Byrnes looked kinda safe on the final out of the no-hitter. ESPN refuses thus far to show a slow-mo or up close play of him over the bag. I'm sure Woody Paige or Michael Wilbon will be all over it tomorrow.

IMO, it is Cena's best title defense. The Jericho match at SummerSlam was great, but this gets more people in I guess, plus the crowd is super-hot for Cena, unlike SummerSlam where it was split. The focus was to put Cena over on the DVD, I guess.

Ventura's commentary is intact on WM 2, Orndorff/Hogan, WM 3, The Main Event Hulk/Andre (yes!), WM 5 so far. I'm sure he's on 6 as well. All this stuff's been commercially released before the lawsuit. Ventura as "I TOLD YOU HULK WOULD LOSE!" and Vince, ironically, as the "HULK'S BEEN SCREWED!" commentators are great.
-
Well, what WOULD Jesse be on? Warrior/Hulk's been released a 1,000 times (if he even did that show) Savage/Hogan I'll check Andre/Hulk Main Event I'll check Hogan/Andre's been out a 1,000 times Hogan/Orndorff was already released Hogan/Bundy (WHYYYY IS THIS ON HERE???) I'll check

I got history of the title for 20 bucks at Best Buy. It has the ending spot for every single WWE Title change ever, in timeline format. Hosted by JR who pretends he remembers things. Awesome. Old stuff of course, but I never saw Christian/Cena/Jericho. the crowd is nuclear. The match is great. _____ Jim Ross does color commentary for Koloff/Morales. When the crowd boo's it's a horrible fake REALLY loud "BOOO!" they inserted then it gets relatively real (I think?). Ross gives some cool background info., including about the curfew. Wow, if that's the real crowd going apeshit for Pedro's win, that's insane. It's a positive riot. Bruno/Kowalshi is Vince McMahon commentating alone (sounds even younger than 80's) Sammartino's pretty muscular but then when Graham gets introduced it's like "Sit down, kid...". Wow. McMahon commentary. They totally don't have Savage/Flair from Hershey, title change #2 on full video. It never aired on TV or video (I'm pretty sure about the video thing), it was only in clips on Mean Gene's "UPDATE!" clip on Superstars, and during the timeline the brief clip they show of Savage passing out in the figure four is Gene talking in the UPDATE segment. Wow, if true, why would they not have that? Young Greg Valentine has Brien Kendrick's face and facial move-selling. When Valentine is half-way out of the cage door, Backlund pulling him in by the leg. Heenan: "As far as I'm concerned the man is out of the ring." Whoever Heenan is doing commentary with, he's so cocky and condescending, it's hilarious. Backlund/Slaughter is just Gorilla. I know it's been on a bunch of DVDs but damn is Sheik/Hogan still awesome and the crowd is nuts. But on one hand - man, Bret/HBK takes up like 3 other matches combined that coulda been here. It BELONGS here, but it's just been released SO many times. A lot of repeats on this set. Andre/Hogan Main Event!

"Screaming like an Indian" has to become a popular phrase. Please. -
"Ladies and gentlemen, give your money to the Telethon! Here to sing 'Everyday of the Week' are the smash group Jade!" About Wonder Years. I'll never forgive Cooper for sleeping around on Kevin that one (two-parter?) episode where I think she was a lifeguard and he saw her with some dude on the beach. Anyone remember this? I think I might have some of the facts wrong.

I expect Outback Jack to take an RKO.

OAO ECW TV Day 91 Thread - September/5th/2006.
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
"in the sports thread, NFL Week 1 was opened up a week before the season officially kicks off" Eh, less than 5 days before, actually. And football, which is a billion times more popular than wrestling, has only one thread to discuss stuff so it NEEDS constant threads being made all the time. It doesn't have its own folder like WWE. But now, about these WWE/ECW TV threads, I agree, let's end this stuff. Post the thread on the day of. No one gives a flying turd who starts the thread first, so stop making it 2 days early and taking up space on the board. -
Venkman: Blame Pearl Jam, who released "Vs." as an album in '93 and warped an entire generation's brain. Also, the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) is changing their name to "Versus" in less than a month.

Things I hope happen: 1) Jeff gets the title off Nitro. 2) Umaga squashes a well-known ROH wrestler. 3) Foley added to Unforgiven "Hell in a Cell" match. 4) Orton has to put someone over and has another tantrum. 5) Defying Raw logic, there's a good wrestling match. 6) No intelligence-insulting McMahon/DX garbage. They can have storyline development, just don't drop nets, poop, or other nonsense. 7) Mickie James is on TV. 8) Maria (where has she been?) is on TV.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Phillies are currently looking for the pet monkey that likes to hang on their back, it wears an Astros jersey and answers to "Loss".

"A Psicosis/Helms feud for the Cruiserweight Title would be off the chart" Having seen Psicosis stink up the joint live at One Night Stand 2005 and look really sloppy throughout his Smackdown! run, I have to respectfully decline. I'd rather Helms' reign not be tarnished with such a program. -
This weekend signalled the end of the Phillies' Wild Card hopes, IMO, unless the Marlins and Padres get bad soon. The Phillies are perfectly mediocre. Can't win games they should. Shits bullpen and an on-again, off-again offense. Ryan Howard was the friggin' man today. But with 10 against the white-hot Marlins, an awfullly tired bunch of pitchers and worst relief pitchers in the league playing a good Astros team, we're in big trouble.
-
to quote someone from yesterday's posting about TODAY: VICTORINO!!!!!!!! DOUBLE PLAY!!!!! And oh yeah: FIFTHY for Ryan Howard! I'm upset we don't get Myers/Rocket tomorrow
-
Just got home from Game 1 after travelling back & forth in the rain from Deptford and Philly throughout the day. Once again a big KISS MY ASS to Arthur Rhodes for his brilliant 9th inning. God I pray we can salvage a split.

Just let the Phillies play some baseball, god of drizzles.

I know Agassi got a lot of flack and groans for returning. But I've also seen him in a great comeback win on Monday and a freakin' EPIC match in the 2nd round that was one of the best matches I've ever seen. He's my favorite player of all time in a sport that I loved playing in high school. I'm looking forward to him tyring to beat the German in Round 3in 6 hours.
