When referencing Cena "squashing" Masters and making Sabu submit, I meant that it had added to the credibility of both his finish and his status as Raw's top "unbeatable" star. It's always better to not have "Can Cena Retain?!?!?!" everyweek from JR, and instead have "He has to go THROUGH John Cena" when billing your top dog.

Scroby, I agree, that WAS Cena's MO up 'til '06. Vs. Masters and Vs. RVD, Cena dominated most of the bout. Vs. Edge and HHH, he got in a decent amount of offense. Vs. HHH, it was closer than I expected. Here we go.

The last two times I was 100% sure that the champ was dropping the title on Raw were: World Champ Triple H being forced to "wrestle in a battle royal" with the title on the line. World Champ Goldberg Vs. Triple H, late 2003 First one never happened. Second one had a dissapointing result, although Trips got it weeks later. _________ It's all over for Cena tonight, though.

    OAO Vengeance 2006 Thread

"you mean a lot of internet fans have an irrational hatred of Orton? Never!" Hey 12 posts, keep it down. Fans hate Orton because he is a plodding, boring worker, filled with restholds, a minimal moveset, a shitty finisher, a stupid father, the need to call women "cunts" repeatedly, and for ending Benoit's title reign and then having his own flop. Orton has shown absolutely ZERO consistency as a main eventer, be it as a heel or a face. He's like a junior high kid that desperately is trying to hang out with the senior from high school (Triple H), who finds him amusing. Orton is kind of Screech to H's Zack Morris. Irrational, I think not.

Has anyone else noticed that, despite still having really corny, unoriginal "disses" and mic skills, John Cena has become a consistent main eventer, being game for really good matches and looking like a credible champion? It is because of this that I hope John Cena kicks the shit out of Van Dam tonight and wins back the title. I'm a Cena workrate mark. No one expected HHH/Cena to be good at Mania, yet Cena not only delivered a good match (which HHH shined in), he had his finish put over, and really got "made" into a top player. At Backlash, the 3 wrestlers had an awesome bout, and despite "Cena is definately losing", he won again, cleanly. On Raw, Cena squashed the shit out of Masters, someone it took him 12-15 minutes to beat last Fall. At One Night Stand, Cena did the best with who he had to work with, and delivered a memorable PPV appearence to a shitty crowd and opponent. Haven't seen Vengeance. But in kayfabe mode...he made fucking SABU **submit**. ________ Cena's been rock solid in the ring, IMO, ever since his program with Edge the day after New Year's Revolution.

What happened to the UK PPVs?

Don't buy into the "One Night Only" hype. Taker/Bret is kinda slow with a shitty (but unavoidable) finish, Bulldog/HBK is OK. At least don't expect to see some blowaway show.

    State Your Unpopular Opinions

Umaga sucks. JBL repeats his lame commentary for every match and is very corny. "ECW" sucks. It's new fans and anyone who WAS a fan that still watches are all tools. Chris Benoit needs to retire. Booker T needs to retire. William Regal & Finlay need to retire. Bobby Lashley needs to stop doing the spear. Randy Orton is a horrible worker and terrible interview. Triple H is a great worker. John Cena, despite still being very corny, has become a red-hot worker during March-June 2006. Rob Van Dam's "big title win" was one of the worst botches I've ever seen.

Rate the last 5 years of the WWE

Anyone putting over 2004 as a killer year is an idiot. Seriously. Other than some great multi-man tags on Raw, the year SUCKED. The World Champion Chris Benoit worked PPV matches that weren't the main event, was made to look "lucky" during a PPV match with Triple H, couldn't even defeat EUGENE in a Raw match, lost to shitty Orton in CANADA in the SummerSlam main, went to tagging with Regal in the ultimate de-push, and finally just played second or third banana to new babyface (HA!) Randy Orton. Eddie Guerrero's title reign was even worse. Grandma Guerrero heart attack angle? Illegal mexicans "chased back to Mexico?" Getting beat by the then ultra lame JBL? Jesus. Then he resumed a steady string of mediocre matches with JBL (Smackdown cage), Angle (SummerSlam), and faced such great workers as...Luther Reigns, on PPV. The tag team division, as always, was a joke. Booker T & RVD, literally, went from tag champs to enemies overnight. Such other ridiculous teams as heel Edge & face Chris Benoit and the horrible La Resistance added to the even more tainted belts. What's the ultimate sign of lazyness and lack of creativity? No no, it's not booking a 45 minute snoozer of Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a non-title-related PPV match (though they of course did THAT!)...it's booking the challenger for the main event of SummerSlam...by HAVING A BATTLE ROYAL. Lame. Smackdown featured a good No Way Out main with Eddie taking the title. But then it lost Lesnar. Not good. Survivor Series was horrible. SummerSlam was pretty mediocre with a shitty Canadian crowd. 2004 was just as bad as the other years. Except the internet darlings (Benoit, Eddie) were seen as "players", when in fact, they were really transitional champions for the next batch of BIG TIME PLAYERS (Orton and JBL), both who failed.

    Bring Back the ECW Folder.

TNA gets its own folder. ECW has better-selling DVDs, a better timeslot, soon-to-be better attendance, more credible main-event wrestlers, and a much larger fanbase. And their profit will be 1000x more than TNA. Plus, Toy Biz didn't make their action figures. Thus, the weekend of One Night Stand '06, I would like to see Extreme Championship Wrestling become a folder in the Wrestling section once again. -Eddie

"McMahon didn't even acknowledge the WWE Title situation." In kayfabe world, Vince McMahon has absolutely NOTHING he *can* say about the WWE Title. He did mention it, and said that Paul E.'s claim that ECW now has the title is valid. Ross said it himself, "For the first time since 1963 the WWE Title is not in the WWE."

CZW "Strictly CZW" Results from 06-10-06

CZW presented "Strictly CZW" at the New Alhambra Sports & Entertainment Center in Philadelphia, PA on June 6, 2006. - Show began with "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen interrupting EdOMac's opening to put over that he'll, from this day forward, be a deserving CZW Iron Man Champion. He also had brought 6 Canadian stars who want to prove they deserve a shot in CZW. 1. Max Boyer defeated Nick Watts, Christopher Bishop, Lionel Knight, Jeff Fleury, and Matt Byson by pinning Bishop. After the match, Maven Bentley asked the crowd if they wanted the Canadians back, but the crowd seemed to react negatively. Boyer was given a mixed reaction and welcomed back, with Justice Pain getting on the mic and saying "Welcome to CZW." 2. Danny Havoc defeated Jigsaw and Hallowicked in a 3-Way Ladder Match by retrieving the envelope suspended above the ring. As a result of his win, Havoc was given any match of his choice. He asked for a match against DJ Hyde at Tournament of Death. Zandig made the following match for the opening round of TOD - Zandig Vs. Havoc Vs. Hyde. 3. Beef Wellington fought Larry Sweeney to a no-contest when BLKOUT interfered, allowed Beef to escape, and took Sweeney (claiming to be a H8 Club ally) hostage. The H8 Club came out and left Sweeney to the wolves, and setup the 8-man main event for later. Eddie Kingston was noticeably emotional and crazed on the microphone, and came off great. 4. Adam Flash & Pandora defeated LuFisto & Sexxxy Eddy after Flash hit the Last Call on LuFisto. Well-worked match by all 4 involved. Eddy missed his finisher in the corner on Pandora, coming up short and knocking himself out of the match. After the bout, LuFisto called out Chrissy Rivera and CZW Jr. Heavyweight Champion Niles Young, who had been sitting in the front row and bashing the babyfaces. LuFisto mentioned that Chrissy was jealous, since she wasn't even tall enough to suck a d*ck when standing up. Chrissy and LuFisto had a staredown before Niles jumped the hardcore women's wrestler from behind. 5. Derek Frazier pinned B-Boy clean in a competitive match with a hurancanaran and leg hook. Pandora was not by B-Boy's side, having just competed. 6. CZW IRON MAN TITLE - "Tables, Chairs, and Kaos Match" - Keven Steen retained the Iron Man Championship over DJ Hyde, Necro Butcher, and BJ Whitmer in a Tables, Chairs, & Kaos match. The Messiah started the match, but BJ Whitmer brutally attacked him about 10 minutes in with a chair and took his place. FINISH SAW STEEN DELIVER A PACKAGE PILEDRIVER off the top rope through a table onto Whitmer. WOW. Fans online and live were very receptive to this bout, an homage to the old school days of the Iron Man title. Just crazy. Afterwards, Necro said he didn't know it was a title match, and invited all of the fans out to the bar. _INTERMISSION)_ 7. Jon Dahmer pinned Ravage after delivering the "Move of 1,000 Maniacs" on the entrance rampway. About 7 minutes, and both guys looked good. Crowd was very hot, chanting for both men, who wrestled a good match. Finish was sick. - Maven Bentley summons Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli to the ring. Bentley forced Hero to defend his title against Claudio, with no dirty shenanigans or Hero will be stripped of the CZW World Title. Bentley did this to punish Hero for his sneaky win of the title th previous month. 8. Chris Hero retained the CZW World Heavyweight Championship over Claudio Castagnoli following a standing tuck moonsault. Very good match. Friendship turned into competition as both began cheating and hitting their full arsenal of maneuvers. Claudio dove through the ropes as hard as I've ever seen anyone before, and spun himself to deliver a European uppercut in mid-air, sending both men flying to the ground. Amazing. Ricola Bomb was avoided, and Hero snuck out a clean win. Afterwards, Claudio held Hero for the interfering Eddie Kingston. But Claudio set up King, and with Hero they attacked him. BLKOUT made the save. 9. The Blackout (Ruckus, Eddie Kingston, Joker, & Sabian) defeated The Forefathers of CZW (Zandig, Justice Pain, Nick Gage, & the in-ring return of LOBO) in one of the craziest brawls you'll see. Two giant panels of glass splattered into the crowd. Barbed-wire boards tore up the opponents. Sick chairshots. High-flying BLKOUT attacks. Battery on the entranceway. LOBO looked great in his return. The fans just loved this, it was hot throughout. The 6-way opener Canadians, as well as Beef and Steen, hit the ring to assist BLKOUT. Afterwards, the BLKOUT ran down the fans for supporting the "hardcore" fathers of CZW, when they bust their ass every month. They said Zandig had been holding down young talent like BLKOUT and the Canadian contigent. BLKOUT THEN CUT THE HAIR OF ZANDIG, as Hero & Claudio attempted to make the save. BLKOUT got major heat. Really good show that made amends for Best of the Best, IMO. Next shows are June 8th (New Alhambra) and June 29th (Tournament of Death, Delaware). For tickets check out www.czwrestling.com.

Quote on Flair: "he hasn't done a single different match in 10 years." He worked a great match with Edge on Raw that saw him bumping off of ladders from the ring to the floor. Oh, he does that EVERY MATCH. It was dramatic and exciting. He worked a long, different bout with Angle last summer. His cage match with Hogan at Uncensored 99 was different, and saw him change from face to heel during the course of it, plus it was well paced and their second best match ever against each other. His match against Mysterio on Nitro in March 1999 was worked differently from what he does today. That's just off the top of my head. Basically, shut up.
