Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
"The same thing I despise about you (Hogan), is what I despise about Bret Hart. You..stood for some moral fibre...that in your real life.. did not exist. Yet you stood in judgemnet, of me." Speaking the truth, eliciting a negative reaction from the fans while they deep down know the heel is right, boy that Shawn Michaels sure has "lost it" hasn't he? Bret should've went in the HoF after guys like Bruno and Savage. He's only going in now because he sold out again for more MONNNNNNEYYYYY for his DVD, and now can get a little more MONNNNNNNEYYYY for the HoF appearence fee and put WWE behind him once and for all, because he cares nothing about the fans that supported him all those years. So get get your fucking plaque and be gone from a great weekend. Go pop in a DVD of your shitty "greatest matches", including a slow, boring, directionless, botch-fest with Hakushi that your mark supporters wet themselves over. Michaels was always the better mic worker and better worker. He was more explosive, could have DIFFERENT kind of matches with different guys, bumped better, and despite his own shitty backstage maneueverings, kept his character on-screen and his issues off-TV. -
Smackdown! sounds awesome. I just wished MNM, after being such strong main event factors in tags and six-mans for months, woulda been rewarded with a WM 22 match.

Great. Styles in WWE sucks. As do Lawler & Coachman. -
Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania

"Is it ironic that Michaels would refuse to job to two of the three biggest draws in wrestling history?" Hmmm, he's put over washed-up Hogan. He's put over washed-up Flair. And he's put over Austin. He never worked Bruno. He never worked Rock. But never refused to put them over. He even put over The Road Warriors and passed that torch in tag wrestling. -

Actually, it's silly Canadian marks and other Bret fans that can't "let Montreal die", not educated realists who know what they're talking about like me. Bret threatened multiple times to fly to WCW. Bret's a rude, egotistical, liar - even his DVD showed this as he did to me first-hand when he signed the thing. Quote: "And as for your retarded comment about Bret disrespecting Eddie by leaving the show, Vince and company have pissed on Eddie's memory much worse than Bret walking off a stage would do to it." I'm glad my comment was so "retarded" that you failed to deny Bret would do it, and shifted the argument onto Vince for some reason. And yeah, Vince sure has pissed on Eddie's legacy by making his death a storyline behind a WM World Title bout, featuring him as one of the top 2 hyped HoF ceremony inductees, creating a huge emotional speech for him on Sat. Night at the HoF for his friends/family to do, paying tribute to him with two unique broadcasts, and donating T-shirt sales to his family among other donations. Oh wow. Orton's FICTIONAL CHARACTER said some bad things to another FICTIONAL CHARACTER who overcomes the odds and fights much bigger people. He's a fucking heel. It's pro wrestling. Get over it, conservative. -
"who is going to bet on Cena winning the match against Triple H?" I am. I personally think Trips has much more to gain by having a great match with Cena SOMEHOW, a massive bladejob ensues, the crowd gets into it, and Cena retains and shocks the world. Will that happen? NO. But Triple H, IMO, believes it will. Plus, Cena/HHH is the main event...and it ain't gonna end with Triple H as champ, killing the crowd's memories, like in 2000. Trips will win it at Backlash, IMO, and regret the choice.

Thanks for all your input, much appreciated. Later.

When did Fit Finlay use that ridiculous 3rd theme, "Belfast" ? It's the most insane song for a wrestler I've ever heard.
-
Finlay could only be cooler if he had his awesome WCW entrance music.

Again, Bret is WRONG. Shawn is a CONTRACTED EMPLOYEE. Bret took his greedy ass to WCW for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. It was a bad choice. Shawn is on good terms with WWE and has every right to be at the HoF and pay respect to the legends there. Bret being a selfish, greedy prick, not willing to do the right thing for business, and eagerness to have more MONNNNNEY is the reason Vince said "fuck you" and had him lose his little title belt. And now, 9 years later...Bret is once again causing more trouble for Shawn because of Bret's own selfish actions. How dare Bret cause a fucking scene at a tribute where Eddie Guerrero would be honored. What's, he gonna walk off stage? -
I DVR-ed Raw to watch 24. I don't want spoilers, but I gotta huge paper to finish and little time to watch the show. Can someone give me any funny stuff to watch for, points to fast forward through that are boring, or positive praise about anyone's promos/matches to look for? I'll have like 30 min to watch before I gotta get some sleep. Edit: Oh and any funny botches and blown spots, too.

Hawk calling Shelton Benjamin "super over" was funny. But I DO like your comparisons. The match will be fine. Last year's MITB wasn't even that memorable. I had a hard time recalling Jericho was even in it, and now I remember it was HIS idea.

I like the fact that they have a seperate numbering system for "Death" and "Suicide", actually. 'Cause Heaven don't take no quitters. -

I think Bret is an arrogant mark for himself that was a complete dick at a signing I met him at. It doesn't surprise me to see him once again put himself over the good of the business and the fans. Fuck Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero is the 2006 HoF MVP to me. He's a better wrestler anyway, more likeable as a face, a better heel, and actually battled through a lot more trouble QUIETLY then Bret has publicly cried about on websites, newspapers, DVDs, and WWA PPVs. Go the fuck home if you see Michaels. Michaels isn't a saint, but at least he'll entertain the fans that paid to see him...something he was always better at doing than you. -
Quote: "the MitB match is a complete disaster" - Finlay (WM 22) is MUCH fresher than 2005 "every match is the same" Benoit (WM 21), and will have just as many exciting moments or actions as Benoit did in MITB1. Benoit's the man, but I felt him being lumped into MITB was a major step down and he was an awkward entrant. Finlay is over and a kickass heel. Call it a Push. - Shelton's been in the ring with styles that don't mesh with his in standard wrestling matches. He was in last year's. Push. - RVD (WM 22) is a better performer and a better "spectacle match" bumper than Christian (WM 21) and can excite the crowd more than Christian's WM 21 character could. Plus a large portion of the crowds want Van Dam to win a title shot, as evidenced by the reactions to him at RUMBLE 06 and RAW (RVD/HHH/Show). Van Dam's a much bigger star than Christian was at this time last year. +1 - Matt Hardy (WM 22) and Kane (WM 21) both suck. PUSH. Kane's a slightly better worker, but Hardy will bump more, so call it even. - Flair (WM 22) and Edge (WM 21) are about even. While Edge is a better wrestler, both really about the same to a ladder match. Edge's spinal surgery had limited his "big bumps", and ironically his biggest bump since returning was one WITH Flair in January. Flair will get the crowd going better than Edge can at that point last year. Both of these guys really don't belong in any MITB bout, I'd call it even. Flair will bring THE BLOOD, though. - Lashley's my pick to win the thing. Raw had the MITB holder all year last year, and this would certainly erase the shitty "big time event performances" that Lashley has had (Rumble, World Title battle royal, Survivor Series). He'll bring excitement and crowd pops, plus fun brawls with Finlay. Jericho? In 2005, Jericho was still ultra stale. I'd take Lashley today over better worker yet stale babyface '05 Jericho. At least he has a future. While the 2006 MITB doesn't "BLOW AWAY" last years, there is MUCH more intrigue with guys like Lashley, Finlay, and RVD, and no evidence that it will SUCK or is a complete disaster. Your argument is the complete disaster.

O'Haire and Jindrak are boring, bland, useless dumps of "talent" that were exposed when they came to the 'E. O'Haire's GIMMICK and LOOK were refreshing with the Devil's Advocate character...but he was just terrible in the ring. Jindrak is a slightly better worker, but had no interview skills, looked like random OVW callup #19, and I've yet to see a match with him I liked, except the Nitro Battle Royal where the Thrillers won their first tag straps, just because I like flippy gimmicky battle royals personally. _____ Quote: (on Mickie Vs. Trish at Mania) "this still isn't something that can make an entire card" That's why I listed it with like 7 other things.
-
Perhaps Bret, at WM 22, will "shoot" on WWE and lead an invasion of "REAL" talent that has been "screwed" in the past by being fired, including Bret Hart, Henry O. Godwinn, Test, Kenzo Suzuki, Shannon Moore, and Hiroko. Bret - WWE Champ Test & Kenzo - Tag Champs H.O.G. - The "muscle" or "Sid role" Moore - the trampoline act Hiroko - the valet WE NEVER SAW IT COMING.

Um... WrestleMania's gonna be a good show, why does it need saving? - Two main events with non-predictable outcomes (personally, I think Cena and Rey take it), - a should-be-entertaining HBK/McMahon match (lots of possibilities...and Michaels has had nothing but very good WM matches since his return) - The finish of the awesome Trish/Mickie feud - MITB 2 has a diverse lineup and a more prestigious. Flair will bleed, RVD will kick, Finlay will hit Lashley with things, Hardy will bump, and Shelton will hopefully get on his game. - Taker's been good lately. Henry takes a good beating and is a decent monster heel. - Carlito & Masters are entertaining personalities (whiny Tony Montana and dumb oafy I'm the leader!), they may be a very poor man's Owen & Bulldog but I'll take it...and I'm rooting for them. - The Hall of Fame. I agree it's not worth $50. So go to a bar and watch it. Invite friends over. RAW has been all filler anyway. Mania will be fine.

Norton worked Japan long before Fire & Ice.
-
S_D, no need to act a fool and look stupid.
-
No one has ever broken the Masterlock. Masters has released it, and also, on occassion, never fully applied it. No one, including Shawn Michaels, has ever broken it. The announcers have even make a point to stress this during each of Masters matches this month. Tonight on Raw, there's a "Masterlock Challenge" with the Big Show. Which means Masters will probably work him over with a chair.

Teeth like Mr. Ed that Ames fellow had, and his brother. Dig the "ball throw" on 17, though.

Wow, you're like a stupider version of Billy Packer.

I was rooting for Memphis and LSU because I just spent like 14 days in Memphis, TN (311 Day, Raw, Beale St.) and Louisiana (St Pat's Day, left and went to GA instead). Oh, well. 1 out of 2 isn't bad. I'm not a UCLA fan at all, so I'll be pulling for LSU. Although Princeton/UCLA from 96 (i think?) is my favorite tourney game ever, with those backdoor bounce passes just ruling and Princeton pulling the shocker late at night. Remember this? Today I'm routing hardcore for Nova, of course. And I can't wait to see both the GMU home crowd and the "average fan" hate on UCONN. Can a miracle happen?

Let us not forget when Al tries to get a tattoo. Carol can't talk her out of by mentioning what happens when tattoos go bad...but she can by SHOWING her. Everyone hug.
