    Box Office Weekend Numbers

Since She's the Man's plot has been done over and over and over again, it has a right to be bashed. More unoriginal garbage with unfunny "teen starz" that can't hold a candle to their successors, and I'm glad it made such little money.

    V for Vendetta

V for Vendetta was the best "comic book roots" film I have ever seen.

The OAO RAW Thread for March 20, 2006

I just got home from a trip to Memphis, TN. What a craphole that place was. Easily the worst looking major city I've ever seen, and this includes Camden, NJ. Interesting note, I found two cool places to eat there: "Cactus Jack's" and "Meng's Chinese" Oh and I have no interest in this Raw.

    311 Day 2006

I'm attending 311 Day 2006, on (duh) 3/11, and I'm really excited. I purchased the 311 Day 2004 2-Disc DVD over Christmas '04. It's gotta be one of the greatest, most bang for your buck music DVDs ever, regardless if you like the music or not. For $19.99, it has **64** full, live performances of the 2004 311 Day concert, bunch of extra stuff, clips of the fan party, etc. So I've been really excited to go to this show, which was originally intended for New Orleans. At the last minutes (January), it was moved to Memphis, TN (which is awesome, IMO) to the famous Mid-South Coliseum! I'm heading with a friend to Savannah, GA from Philadelphia, PA. We're making stops in Chicago, IL and Charlotte, NC, where we'll booze up at the airport like only idiots could. From there we'll end up in Savannah, GA, meet up with a friend who goes to college there, and begin the drive to Memphis, TN. Staying at a hotel in Memphis, and between the atmosphere of the town and the 6 hour concert, plus endless tailgating it's gonna be a LONNNG day. Afterwards, driving back to Savannah, GA. I just won a radio contest for a 4 day stay in Clearwater, FL (5 hrs from Savannah), so I think we're gonna end up driving there for some fun, too. All in all, I think it's gonna be a cool Spring Break where I'll learn about some Southern culture. In all, between March 10th and March 19th, I'll see: Leaving New Jersey Philadelphia, PA Chicago, IL Charlotte, NC Savannah, GA Drive through Alabama Drive through Mississippi Memphis, TN Possibly New Orleans and Possibly Florida, depends on the cash and our physical state. Anyhoo, anyone else checkin' out 311 Day?

Comments which don't warrant a thread

Hehe, sorry. I'm glad the juniors are cut. They were really slow and boring, and added nothing to the show. I'm sure Super Porky is funny and everything to some, but a guy eating a chicken or whatever didn't make me laugh. It wasn't even "funny because everyone on the 'net likes him". I'm hoping they take all the juniors salaries and lump them together to sign either a returning Chris Jericho or Razor Ramon HG.

This isn't Triple H's sister, BTW.

    Final Destination 3

I downloaded this. The death scenes aren't as fun as part 2, but the build-up to them is tense at times and can get ya a little spooked, in anticipation of what the impending gore will look like. My favorite particular scene's build-up, not spoiling whether or not the person lives/escapes, is in the weight room. The "crushed from the sky" scene is jacked from FD2. It's cute, though, because the character in FD3 mistreats some pigeons, which caused the similar death in FD2. The tanning bed thing reeks of "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer", so big minus for lack of creativity. The whole "whiny girl who has a premonition" and "male lead" co-star was done in FD2. More lazyness. And what the HELL was that ending?!?!?!?!?!?!? Overall, though, it does an okay job at what the movie is supposed to do: Have a little humor, non-believing teens, add some suspense, and have some gore scenes. The previous versions were much more clever, original, and gorier, though. Rent, if you must.

    World Baseball Classic

I'm rooting for a U.S. departure in the first round to end this whole concept by killing the crowds for the next rounds. Seriously. This thing is nothing but a meaningless exhibition of players, and not even the best players in some cases. I'm totally against it and almost glad Utley's gigantic fly out didn't go over. Sorry to be a downer but I agree with those who have spoken out against this silly tournament. Get the boys back in spring training and working out.

Guns 'N' Roses - Catcher In The Rye

Average, Axl was singing some lines much too quickly, at times it felt like G n R goodness and at times felt liked a forced G n R cover. Just sounded...average.

    Okay, so what'd I miss.

    Lenna still has the AIDS.

    Well, see ya later guys

Lita cheats, then Melissa cheats. Hardy loses job, Young loses internet. Any day now, "Melissa" starts an account, sharing it with her new boyfriend "typing sometimes" and calling out Matt. Then Matt comes back in full hero mode and obviously tries to make a friend or two for a change. He fails miserably. Typical TSM lazy booking.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

Shane being put over Barbarian, who was still seen as a credible (and decent working) midcarder (see: Rumble 91, WM 7) in 1991 is really odd.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

Flair beat Hogan by DQ at the summer 96 Clash. Jericho's nWo victory came months later, I think.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

The Lightning Kid (Sean Waltman) did a couple WCW house shows and dark matches at tapings in 1992.

Will we see another year long title reign?

I hope Triple H holds the belt for a year until a really good, charismatic worker wins the title from him. The Benoit WM 20 win wouldn't have been the same if the belt kept flopping back and forth every other month. Save for the horrid Goldberg title run, Trips run may have sucked, but it at least put major heat and a celebration factor when he was finally beaten at Mania.

    311 Day 2006

Czech, I'm flying from Philly to Chicago to NC to GA (for $67 I'll deal with a couple hours of layovers). Driving from GA to TN. Then back from TN to GA. Then flying GA to Philly on 3/19. Thanks for the advice. Yeah, anyone know any cool stops in Memphis, or along the ride from Savannah GA to Memphis? We're gonna go through Alabama and Mississippi, I'm told.

the official who is on your ignore list thread

Leena, your emo-centric B&W picture makes you look older than usual, taking you from that Papa Roach groupie look to the "God I'm fucking ugly and even if I told my dad I DIDN'T mind when he touches me, he still wouldn't put it in" look. Good luck with accumulating more people on the "List O' People Who Hate Me" thing you have. Good start. Quote: "..and probably not updating this thread." It's not a fucking blog, moron. It's not your job to update a thread with your useless thoughts.

    ** 2006 WWE Televised Win-Loss Standings **

It's updated through "Raw is Shitty Old WM Rematches". It's like they're protecting Viscera's spot by jobbing all the top people below him, i.e. Angle, Shelton, Kane. Note: If Big Show got his shit together, all the titleholders would be in the top 10.

    Tony Atlas' HOF induction.

Pete Rose being tombstoned at WrestleMania 14 was on like *every* news station by 11 pm. Minutes after WM 14 ended. John Cena, Triple H, Batista, Orton, etc. could never generate that publicity for WWE. That's why I have no problem with him being in the celebrity wing of the HOF.
