Interesting line from the torch
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to geniusMoment's topic in The WWE Folder
Is there any way this could be referring to JESSE VENTURA? Screw the "locker room watch", perhaps the sheets are wrong, as usual. He's the most mainstream of any pro wrestler. And he looks awful. Amy Ace said: "As far as Kurt goes, its not just a rumor, I have first hand knowledge, and have been worried about him long before Eddie died." Do you also have a members.aol.com/ websiteZ for me to visitZ? Stop posting "inside know all" without specifying, and explaining who you are. If you're that important that you can't share the details, then fuck off. -
Well, we do offer an illegal service by providing alcohol to minors. But I also said that while I think the kid is at fault, the partyholders are, too.

Bret signed my copy on Tuesday. He looked EXHAUSTED. I discussed how I had never seen the Bulldog/Bret IYH match before and loved it, because that night I was at an Eagles/Lions playoff game (55-10 or so stomping by Eagles). He looked at me like I just asked him to sign it to "Mike Hickenbottom". Oh well, it was free. Scary thing was, after waiting 3 hours to get a good line spot, the girl's like "OK, show your (Best Buy) receipts!" I bought mine at FYE (better price, free skull hat). However, one of the foolish Best Buy clerks gave me a pink sticker to put on the box (Bret's DVD from FYE came in a big box, in addition to the DVD case). She let me go. So unlike the Hitman, I was able to avoid being screwed.

Worst 2-Hour or More NITRO or RAW...
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
The Jericho "1,004" holds angle lasted all of 1 minute. And ended, after the commercial break, with Prince Iaukea getting ON THE MIC, threatening Jericho, and Jericho leaving, afraid (?!). The 1,004 holds thing was horrible, IMO. When they returned from the break, Jericho was still reading the first page, but was on hold # 730 or so. Lame. ________ From that same Nitro. When discussing the #66 (about Goldberg). Heenan: "66. Wasn't that Wayne Gretzky's number?" Tenay: "Why, why yes it was!" Heenan: "See, they're both great ones!" -
Worst 2-Hour or More NITRO or RAW...

bravefan, that show you linked is what I just watched, and detailed in the post above you. Something else that just disgusted me. Public Enemy, on the Nitro where Goldberg defeats Hogan for the World Title, coming out wearing ATLANTA BRAVES jerseys. Public Enemy. Hailing from Philadelphia. -
As a fraternity member, I just wanted to say to Dama that it sucks your campus got dry because a stupid fraternity was reckless. But we're not all like that. Mine does 500 hours of community service a semester, supports charities and donates money, helps freshmen move in, participates in non-alcoholic events, and does other community events. But we do love to throw down and drink. We throw parties. In addition to worrying about kids dying, we worry about ourselves, our families, and our futures. Our "Risk Management" is tight. We drive all the underage kids to the house. We drive them home. (Living at the house = No driving, woohoo). We have people assigned to different sections of the house. We have people outside, watching for anyone who got out, and the cops. We have people at the doors. Just saying, some of us run a tight ship. We constantly, IMO, have the most people, the best house, and the best parties. But it depends on how much you care about your future. There WAS a fraternity here, a year ago, that gave me a bid. I turned it down. The next year, I heard "OMG they're so awesome! Such hot girls there! Parties are awesome!" And then I heard "My girlfriend was raped there. Cops there all the time." They've since been thrown off campus. Selecting a fraternity is important. As is being smart about YOURSELF when going to their parties. Don't be a fucking idiot when you drink. I blame the KID WHO DIED FROM DRINKING just as much as the fraternity at OU who didn't take care of him. Now they all have to pay.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Christian Cage's theme music is on TNAWrestling.com. It sounds horrible, as per the standard for TNA music. Instead of ripping off "Waterproof Blonde", they decided to use instrumentals from Evanescence, and turn it into a lovely MIDI File of some sort. -

Beavis and Butthead is on Comedy Central Right Now

The only thing removed from the original episodes are the music videos. Each cartoon runs about 5:40. Some are slightly longer than others. -
Angle's punches suck. Yes, they're rapid fire, but almost too quick, and the opponents hardly get a chance to sell them, IMO. Too curvy for my tastes.

I bet Eddie just stole whoever was first in line to enter the pearly gates' number and gave him #70238756.

Favourite Eddy Guerrero moments
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to CanadianChris's topic in General Wrestling
Eddie, shortly before forming the LWO, I believe, was fed up with WCW and sick of the luchadores inability to be united and combat Bischoff. So he sends out an alert...HIS WALLET HAS BEEN STOLEN!!! He's sure it was a luchadore! But they're all masked, how can he tell who it is? Easily...they all were forced to unmask so he could "get a good look at them". Not only did he see their faces (insulting tradition), but he called them all ugly. Except Psychosis, I believe. "OH MY GOD, ODELAY VATO!!!! PUT THE MASK BACK ON, HURRY!!!" After Chyna and Eddie both won their Qualifying Round matches, they were matched up against each other on Raw in a First Round KOTR 2000 match. Eddie's on his knees kissing Chyna's hand...pulls her forward into a small package. 1-2-3. The look on Chyna's face was "I thought you had character. I'm really dissapointed in you." ________ Eddie coming back on the night of the first ever Raw Brand Split show and frog splashing RVD to hell. Then owning him via pinfall in 2 straight PPVs. __________ -

I just saw the episode w/ them ripping on "Real American"...so awesome. "He's a real American!" ______ I got the DVD set. Pretty cool. It's 3 "slim cases" (Think Family Guy DVDs) inside a silver box with B & B on different sides. The thing about it, is Judge puts an insert in that basically says: "1/3 of the show's episodes are great. 1/3 are decent. 1/3 suck. This and Volume 2 will have all great/decent episodes mixed together." And when the Pantera song starts rocking after 30 seconds, they mark out. Damnit, all these videos are great, from Beavis pretending he's "Pantera's dad" growing up, to Butthead immitating Beavis' voice. -
Eddie's death was just shocking to me. And to the person who claimed that those who weren't his great friends can't shed a tear, that's silly. When I think back of seeing Eddie on PPV with Art Barr, amazing me and setting the tone for innovatice lucha and high-flying to come to the states, I respected him. I remember in high school, yep, I'm a silly mark at heart, I started writing my name as "Eddy" instead of "Eddie" for like 2 years, just because I was so into his famed "rudo dick heel" act in WCW. The heavily rumored notion that Eddie would go over for the same WWE Title that bigger and way less talented people held, and that a "you'll never be a World champ, vanilla midget" was gonna finally usher in talented cruiser-based main event scene was reason enough to drop 35 dollars for a horrible undercard, just to say I saw that live. Eddie's motivation to Benoit at Mania, his retaining the title at MSG, and the epic post-match celebration was easily the highlight of 2004 WWE. So when I think about the fact that a guy that brought me so many happy memories is gone, and the suffering his family is going through now, it makes me tear up. A new daughter won't get to know one of wrestling's most brilliant performers, never get to see him do the "cocky shaking dance", and never get to grow up with her dad. I think that can make anyone cry. Rest in peace, Eddie. Thank you for all the great memories you gave me. I know it's cliche to do the "now heaven will...", but damnit, here goes... I bet Owen's up there. And after years of practical jokes, he's finally about to become a face. But Eddie just hit one of the saints with a chair, and threw the chair to Owen. Eddie's laying on a cloud, pretending to be out cold... And everyone's still gonna mark out. R.I.P. Eddie

This is a work. If you think otherwise you are a silly, fooled mark. Can we close this?

Remember when Iaukea rolled up a cocky Regal and pinned him for the "shock, upset" title win? I do. I have it on tape. And I also remember Schiavone, counting "1-2-3!". Problem was, Tony got to 3 before the ref even got 1 and a half. Good job, Tony!

Final verdict on DVD editing of Lesnar v Goldberg?

well, the image of Jericho above the "Genesis" logo is cut off now on his site.

Al, what do you think of the new Phillies GM? I think he's a dolt. On WIP he rambled about there not being a #1-2 pitcher available for the Phils to get, then Eskin baited him into admitting Beckett is an available #1-2 pitcher, but the new GM replied "He's not in our price range." He then later said the Phillies would be okay with 3-5 more wins. Does he not know that the Phillies getting the # they got this year could be because the Braves mailed it in at the end, resulting in a few key wins, or other intangibles? Also, he referred to Pat Burrell as a "special player". So basically, what do you think of him, his track record (2 rings), and his plans? And what do you think the Phillies need to do to get over the hump? I say: Thome gone. Abreu gone. Leiberthal gone. Then sign away. If the Phillies can get hot early, and not dig a ditch AGAIN, people will come out. Break the bank. Thome's gonna cost us a lot, but we need WINNING PLAYERS, not leaders who get decent statistics (like Abreu) but don't WIN.

RUMOR: D'Amore May No Longer Be Head Booker
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to Dimensions's topic in TNA Wrestling
Quote: "...that dude really needs to get rid of the ego he somehow amassed halfway through 2003." 2003? - I think you're forgetting 1995, when his unover ass walked out on the WWF. - Or 1997, when he shot on Debra and WCW on WWF TV, and couldn't get over, only to be joined by Debra getting him the only crowd heat possible in the next year. - Or 1999, when his unover ass thought he could work main event programs with Austin and he was set straight. - Or late 1999, when his still unover ass held up Vince for a ridiculous some of money due to a "huge match" having to be fufilled with CHYNA of all people. Dear God, Jeff Jarrett walking out as IC Champ would have SAVED the un-save-able, already sunken ship that was WCW, right, Jeff. -
Well yeah, Close's character rocked in that. I didn't mean to specifically pinpoint to ultra-lame "swimfan." movie, but girls can be unpredictable and crazy, so I always dug that rarely-used character.
