Bobby Abreu has really had a great couple of weeks. There ya go.

Quote: I disagree. The "vulgar senior citizen" character in the movie is cliche and hardly original. I enjoyed the movie, but I think it's been a little overrated. BUT NOW HE IS AN ARAB AMERICAN AND BRINGS UP TERRORISM.

The NL East and Wildcard contenders decide to take a night off, as the Braves, Astros, Marlins, and Nationals say "here ya go" and give the Phillies and Mets a game in the standings tonight. Great effort. Edit: Wow the Mets suck. Seriously though, those NL West teams played hard. And the BREWERS, what the fuck? 5 out!

By not using generic stupid gags like shitty Anchorman and Dodgeball and relying on Hollywood wannabes like Ferell and Vaughn, who had one decently funny flick in "Old School" to provide "guaranteed laughs", which instead produced lame crap. (Altho I've heard Vaughn redeems himself tremendously in Wedding Crashers, don't bash my opinion b/c of that film, haven't seen it). 40-Yr is smart, and needs to be seen multiple times just to catch all the insults and humorous subplots, IMO. It differs from SNL because of its ORIGINAL humor, and not "oh, I see where this joke is going" funny. Plus, Elizabeth whats-her-name (bookstore girl), the Ebay woman, Paul Rudd, hell ALL of Caroll's co-workers are incredible. One thing...who the FUCK casted "Amy", Rudd's ex-girlfriend? She was horrible looking AND she couldn't speak her lines correctly. Sounded like she just snorted 5 bags of coke.

"This was the best Smackdown match this year" Go away.

Oh yeah... "THEN YOU FUCK THE PLANT!"

I saw the movie today at 4 pm in a packed theatre. It is by far the funniest film I've seen in ages, makes shit like "Anchorman" and other "COMEDIEZ!" piss on themselves, and easily is in the top 2 films I've seen, with Batman Begins. 40-Yr is a ton of lot more entertaining than Batman. The laughs hardly ever stopped.

Gotcha. -
21's biggest draw was clearly Triple H Vs. Batista. Look at the facts: January 2005 PPV "New Year's Revolution", PPV poster featuring Batista, main event teased their upcoming struggle. January 2005 PPV "Royal Rumble", internet and marks both hoping Bastista won, and he did. Central focus of Raw (and Smackdown, to some degree) became Batista's "decision". February 2005 PPV "No Way Out" has a horrible main event, with the "push" from Raw in that Batista would be showing up. Batista now showing up on Raw and Smackdown until WM. The Hogan and Austin announcements added some buys, but without live appearences to hype their return. The WM show was built around Batista and Triple H for months.

SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?

cool, brain freeze I guess as I can't remember it. Interesting the hyped Savage/Warrior teaming on primetime national TV and then had that fiasco. It was '92 though, I'm sure the buyrate sucked anyway. -
I'm just about finished with a comp. of SNME action, ranging from all 31 episodes. I didn't put any promos, just complete matches. I have 2 matches left to locate and add to the DVDs. Match List: #3 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan & Andre the Giant Vs. Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy #4 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. Terry Funk #7 - Ricky Steamboat Vs. Jake Roberts #9 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. Paul Orndorff (Steel Cage) #10 - Battle Royal #11 - WWF Tag Team Champions The Hart Foundation Vs. The British Bulldog (2 out of 3 Falls) #12 - WWF Intercontinental Champion The Honky Tonk Man Vs. Randy Savage #13 - Randy Savage Vs. Bret Hart #15 - Hulk Hogan Vs. King Harley Race #20 - Ted DiBiase Vs. The Blue Blazer #20 - The Rockers Vs. The Brain Busters #21 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. The Big Boss Man (Steel Cage) #22 - WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition Vs. The Brain Buster (2 out of 3 Falls) #23 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. Ted DiBiase #24 - The Rockers Vs. The Brain Busters (2 out of 3 Falls) #25 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan & WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior Vs. Mr. Perfect & The Genius #26 - The Hart Foundation Vs. The Rockers #27 - WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect Vs. Tito Santana #27 - WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition Vs. The Rockers #29 - Ted DiBiase Vs. Bret Hart #29 - Battle Royal #30 - WWF Champion Ric Flair & The Undertaker Vs. Hulk Hogan & Sid Justice #31 - WWF Intercontinental Champion The British Bulldog Vs. Shawn Michaels Some were thrown in for nostalgia (#30, #3 for instance), but stuff like a Bundy/Hogan rematch, IMO, isn't historic. Covered all the title changes, too, which just happened to fall in good matches. And I'm a battle royal mark, so I got both of them in there, wins by Hercules and Perfect, respectively. HOGAN ELIMINATED TWICE, OMG. Haha. My question: Any matches you feel I should include before burning this thing? Or I guess, what matches do you feel were dissed and are part of SNME's Best Matches?

Yes! JIMMY JAM GARVIN and MICHAEL P.S. HAYES! I'm a Freebird a proven winner Been known to get down with my buddies Lynard Skynard. Get a hell of a future A hell of a past You mess with with us we're gonna kick your....OWWW! I'm a freebird now what is your excuse! "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL... AND IS FOR THE WCW UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!" "INTRODUCING FIRST, TOTAL COMBINED WEIGHT OF 512 pounds, from BADSTREET, ATLANTA GA, THE GREATEST ROCK n ROCK BALL OF ALL TIME... THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS!" DDT! DDT! DDT! Just kidding. God I hated Hayes & Garvin. But I never got into the 3-man team. Only Gordy work I ever liked was '92 WCW. Buddy Roberts looked like Playboy Buddy Rose's less cool little brother. -
WCW Saturday Night was the "Nitro"/"Raw" for WCW during the late 80's and early 90's (into mid 90's). It had frequent title changes (Windham over Austin TV Title, Rhodes def. Steamboat for US Title, numerous tag title changes). Many angles were advanced or created.

An example of a Worldwide: MATCH 1: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat defeats jobber Mike Winner in 3 minutes. -Pre-taped Interview segment - Cactus Jack rips on Ricky Steamboat. MATCH 2: Bobby Eaton & Arn Anderson defeat jobbers Bob Cook & The Medic (!!!!) in like 4 minutes. - Highlights of last week's Clash of Champions with Sting. MATCH 3: Erik Watts defeats Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker in a not-so-one-sided jobber squash in 6 minutes. - Interview with Watts, putting over the STF, looking towards the TV Title - Run-down of the two top matches for Starrcade MATCH 4: Flyin' Brian and Steve Austin defeated Marcus Bagwell & Z-Man in a good 8-10 minute match. _____________________________________

SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
That match never happened on a SNME. I can't really ever occur that match happening. The cloest would be Warrior/Savage Vs. Nasty Boys on the Road to Summerslam (or some such named USA Broadcast in late August 1992). -
Awww, c'mon. LOL I saw this thead title and expected a certain two people to be here, and they were. Good stuff. Back on note: Uhh...go crazy, but if you're having this thing by the lake, don't do anything stupid, i.e. smoke yourselves out near houses, etc. or be really rowdy near houses and stuff. No cops is a plus. Do some 80's metal and segue into some classic rock, I says.

I just popped in the DVDs for the first time in months and damn, this first season is probably the best season of a TV show I've ever seen. It's THAT good. Sigh. I hope Season 3 picks it up! YOGALATES

What is Chavo's gimmick going to lead to?

Equally poor if not worse television ratings and PPV buyrates.
