What the Hell is WWE doing with Tyson Tomko?
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Tomko has a match on International Heat this Sunday against Viscera. -
I was at Raw tonight. And it sucked. - Diva Search was the worst yet. - Snitsky/Cena was awfully slow and boring. - Angle Invitational was pointless and lame. - Edge/Kane got a few cheers but was silly, the cage wasn't used as it should've been. - Carlito/Shelton was a bore...Jesus, "bonzo gonzo nearfalls almost 3 counts" repeatedly after what, 3 minutes in? Ugh. Even the dark match, a 6-man with Hogan, Cena, and Batista Vs. JBL, Triple H, and Michaels (the latter two shook hands after a staredown) was pretty slow.

Velocity just aired here Benoit vs. Regal

Christian has won 4 matches on TV this year. He pinned Benoit one-on-one on Raw. And Christian loves bringing up past victories and stupid "firsts". -
Edge's "rise to the top": Kane, Hardy, Lita, etc..

Snitsky/Kane isn't happening at Slam. -
Transformers: The Live Action Movie

Live action Ninja Turtles? Ugh. -
Philly loves the "mega popular babyface" (note that The Rock's "returns" occured in Philly (Raw July 01) and Atlantic City (40 min from Philly, July 02)...and they don't love Michaels, so expect Hogan to get a massive pop. Philly has a smart wrestling crowd for indies/ECW. However, there are a LOT of young marks (usually teen girls) there that are quite annoying. I'll be there, Row 14, Sect 214...yea yea, just ordered tix 5 min ago for mah friends.

I'll be at Raw tonight.

Really steppin out a limb, there. So what do ya get now, Jarrett and <insert released WWE wrestlers here> spray-painting TNA mid-carders with crossed-out TNA letters?
-
Both are stale and underwhelming. I abstain.

Wrestling and MMA Magazines/Publications

A few weeks back, one certain drunk stumbled into the local 7-11-ish store... "Excuse me, Miss...can you tell me where you keep the Apter Mags?" "You know...Pro Wrestling Illustrated. The Wrestler. Wrestle America. Inside Wrestling. Pro Wrestling Illustrated Weekly. World of Wrestling. Wrestling BAD GUYS. The 1996 Pro Wrestling Alamanc." -
Masters gets big points every OTHER week and doesn't appear on the odd show. This week would be a NON-APPEARENCE week.

Alanis Unplugged rules.

Cena's first concert in Philly will be the same time as Ozzfest 10 minutes away. Not that those crowds would intermingle, but I could see a lot of curious wrestling fans already busy.

wwe.com son.

Prediction: How will John Cena's first concert in Philly go over?

Matt Hardy: The other perspective
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to iggymcfly's topic in General Wrestling
I think if Matt Hardy were to show up on Raw with a cheesy title belt with big red "ROH" letters across it Jerry Lawler would have a field day. -
Abreu leads off for the NL. So we'll see what he can do.

The OaO Mid-2005 Zombie Movie Tournament
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to dubq's topic in Television & Film
Here are my votes. ROUND 2 1. Cemetery Man vs Dawn of the Dead [Remake] I haven't seen "Cemetary Man", so I will refrain from voting. 2. Dead Alive/Braindead vs Night of the Living Dead [Original] DEAD ALIVE, easily. 3. Re-Animator vs Land of the Dead RE-ANIMATOR defeats the 15th worst movie of the 16 in the tourney, IMO. 4. Shaun of the Dead vs Dawn of the Dead [Original] IMO, Shaun is too "funny cool" a movie to really be put in this. So I am going with Dawn (Original), just because of the ripping apart the guts and torso scenes, which put it over the top. _______________ And by the way, for all the people bringing up "Zeitgeist" (Spirit of the Times, my favorite word learned in school) and "Romeo's social commentary"... Who the FUCK cares. Social commentary has no place in horror films. I am supposed to be scared and amazed, not think about politics and the real walking mindless that already plague the nation. -
I think the Hardy firing, Edge/Lita "relationship", Matt "hating" Edge/Lita, Edge's wife's "shoot" etc. is all bullshit and a large work by the three of them to freshen their characters and have a hot summer angle.
-
Well, I'll be the first to congratulate Abreu, and I was totally wrong about how he'd do tonight. Now if he can carry it over to this week
-
One of the downfalls of ECW revolutionizing North American Wrestling in the mid-to-late 1990's was the dismissal of the countout/DQ victory, to make the viewer's experience of the "top, big level matches" seem more complete, when they were constantly put on the air during the ratings boom and wow was this a big run-on trainwreck of a sentence.

Psicosis needs a mask, and that long-pants work thing he wears seems to give him problems with the Guillotine Legdrop twice now.
-
Throw Rachel Nichols, ESPN and Leslie Gidel from Comcast Philly on there and I'll watch.

Al, I was explaining by dislike for the overrated Abreu, not explaining the Phils' other woes. Personally, I don't think Thome belongs in the Hall. Maybe now, but ultimately some 30 or so years from now he'll be seen as just a big power hitter. His health the next few years will have a lot to do with it. He's got the HRs...but the RBI and average, without him having three more good years, aren't what I see as worthy. I'm curious how Bobby does in the HR Derby. He's a stat boy, alright, but he doesn't seem too excited. I predict 5th.

How exciting a life YOU must live to have time to post about how non-exciting the thread is, sir.
