The RAW Thread for May 9, 2005
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Kane Vs. Edge will suck the missle hard and we all know it. It took Benoit a few tries to carry Edge through late 2004 'til now. I recall Benoit/Edge singles match (was it in London last year?) being awfully boring. Then this year Benoit won via the roll-up in a good bout. And the Backlash match was supposedly really intense (Downloaded, but haven't watched it yet). Kane is not the guy for the job I fear. He's been stuck in the doldrums wrestling the likes of Snitsky, Christian, Tomko, and Viscera lately. -

Oh My God. If Face Kane has to try to carry Heel Edge to a passable match at Vengeance the results could be catastrophic. HOWEVER With Benoit out of the World Title mix, could be possibly get IC Title: Shelton Vs. Benoit at Vengeance? Do that. 30-Minute Draw. Then build to a Shelton/Benoit Ladder ReMatch SummerSlam. We have our match(es) of the year. -

No, that's in 2 weeks (his interference) and 3 weeks (his historical CHALLENGE TO BATISTA OMG!). -
Wow didn't see you coming a mile away to defend your only friend.

Here's an odd note: The Backlash 2005 DVD has a DVD-Only extra called "Lita & Edge backstage".
-
The main characters of the show were: A Carribean guy A masked Mexican A confusing, sneaky Mexican A jealous, cruiserweight Mexican Two Hollywood A-List partiers In real life, all these people would be getting drunk on May 5th. So any fans they attracted would be doing the same.

Is the 2005 PWI Wrestling Almanac out yet?

They also claim Chris Benoit won the World Heavyweight Title by making Triple H tap out at WrestleMania 9. In the headlines section. -
Wow! Are you trying to tell me that Zenk didn't really win (insert ridiculous Goldberg-like number that would change by like 20 with every show) matches in a row in 1990 during his "winning streak" that led to the TV Title? This is disturbing!

HHH/Taker wasn't the plan. Flair did announce the match, but it was a storyline that Taker got "shafted" of his title shot. McMahon pointed out that Flair had no right to name the main event, due to the original draft's Coin Flip giving McMahon (Smackdown Owner) the first main event (which was Backlash).

2005 WWE Television Win-Loss Record & Standings
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Smackdown! has been added into the list. There it is. Every televised match this year leads to the 2005 Wins Standings. Who do you guys think will finish with the most wins come Dec. 31st? -
2005 WWE Television Win-Loss Record & Standings
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, for some people who are released, such as Molly or Rhyno, they are taken off the list for 2 reasons: 1) To focus on the records of actual wrestlers on TV 2) It wouldn't be fair to compare a record of say, a wrestler who went 7-3 and was fired to a wrestler who was 19-24 for the year, for instance. ________________ If say, Christian and Regal were to go to Smackdown!, it'd be a weird situation. Perhaps this list will be made into one big "Smackdown/Raw" TV Win-Loss Records List by then. As long as the thread title can be changed, or this old one deleted at the draft, I'll thrown the new one up. -
I added all the 1993 stuff. Thank you. Still a work in progress, but there's a lot there. Uploading that page in a few.

2005 WWE Television Win-Loss Record & Standings

Updated for Heat. Technically speaking I think Heart Throbs over Tajiri/Regal would be the upset of the year. Two winless guys defeating the #2 and #4 (at the time) winners. -
Sid Vs. Steamboat in a 35-minute match on 10-15-93. This has to be seen. Sid was even more awful than usual during his brief 93 run.

For that show you couldn't place, the tapings would have been for the WCW SN a day before, and 8 days before, SuperBrawl III. The WCW TV Title tourney of 1993 started on February 2nd. Those are all first round matches. I'll go with Feb 2nd until otherwise, as I believe Orndorff/Scorpio was the tourney's first match televised.

The 2005 MTV Movie Award Nominees

Seeing both NAPOLEON DYNAMITE and CARY ELWES nominated for any type of "award" is hilarious. -
I predicted the Mavericks would win the series after they dropped the first two at home. Stop boasting. I know shit-nothing about basketball statistics. I just think Yao sucks.

How many times did PARTNERS WHO HATE EACH OTHER OR HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON wear the tag titles? Let's see Rock & Undertaker Austin & Undertaker Edge & Benoit Austin & Michaels Austin & Dude Love Rico & Rikishi

I dig the gimmick. People just don't have patience and want a big payoff now. I think the person that breaks the masterlock is gonna be made into a star if handled correctly. But knowing WWE booking, Shane McMahon will break it.

1992 is back up. Gaze upon the pictures of such greats as Sting, Austin, Rude, Paul E., and...uh...Chono. Yeah. Wonder who that "Steve Richards" is that worked Super Invader during his debut at WCW SN taping. Stevie? And that "Mando Khli" or however it was spelled that "looks like The Warlord"...could this be "Mondo Kleen", who was a big Northeast indy name that went on to be Damian DeMento in the WWF? And for as big as a York Foundation mark as I was, I didn't remember Terrence Taylor going back to "Terry Taylor" briefly before he became Taylor Made Man and being a face? Odd.
