London could be to Smackdown! in 2005 what Kidman was to WCW in 1998-99. Mega-over high-risk babyface Cruiser champion...hope they use him correctly.
-
Uh...when they count to 10...if you're not up, you lose. The referee counts it in every match.
-
Don't fucking give Chavo the title, please.

Syxx Pac !

Who wins the useless velocity jobber title ?!?!?!?

Go London....who starts the match? Updates!

God did these people even WATCH WWF in 94? Or do they just look at the title histories and assume people weren't over b/c they won the title days after an "official" face turn... Diesel was a MONSTER in 94. Had great match with Ramon at SSlam where he was over huge. Dominated 94 Rumble, over huge. People actually were pissed when he won only by DQ at KOTR Vs. Bret. He single handedly eliminated some 4 wrestlers at Survivor Series. And they popped even harder for him finally not tolerated Shawn's bullshit superkicks hitting him in the face. It'd be like Batista winning the World Title this MONDAY on Raw if he found out HHH was the limo driver at No Way Out somehow... Batista is still a heel. Right now. But we know what's going to happen.

I've never heard of "House of Wax", but I have seen fun horror movie "Waxwork"...anyone else?

Oh, question for the Stat Boy here... Could you start with Bret's 92 title win over Flair (what I consider the "Modern Era" beginning) and note: Most successful PPV title defenses in a row... WWE, Undisputed, and/or World Could be a neat record.

It's not Diesel's fault. It was the booking team. Diesel was crazy over as he broke away from Shawn and turned face. They decided to try the "big dominating champion" run. Was it successful? I'd say "partly"...obviously he wasn't drawing huge, but was anyone then? Tag team/midcard HBK HEEL as world champ? Not ready. Bret as World Champ? Just DID that. Obviously they decided to change things up. Backlund drawing? Uh...no. Taker as champ then? C'mon, Taker was a poor champion even when business was booming. I understand your point. Diesel's reign wasn't great. But don't blame him like he was booking the title into his hands...now THAT would kill a company if Nash ever had the book and decided to put himself over the big stars...

Nice 1998 WCW Raven photo.

Mr. Fuji and The Bezerker with "Party Planning Tips" Fuji: "Now we ready to throw da potty." Bezerker: "HUSS! HUSS! HUSS!" Wasn't there BOWLING TIPS from Kamala and Slick? (Post Kamala face turn)

From the Sting thread: Early (Feb-Mar Nitro) from 1998 US Champ DDP Vs World Champ Sting DDP has Sting in corner. Fantastic match. Page attempts to Diamond Cutter Sting...has the arms locked, but Sting simply slides out and thus has Page trapped from behind and delivers the Scorpion Death Drop. ___________________ Rock over Bossman at SurSer 98. ___________________ Shane friggin' Douglas, WCW skinny rookie, pinning BIG BADASS Barry Windham when he and Steamboat upset Rhodes and Windham for the Unified tag belts. Douglas sneaks in....BELLY TO BELLY...and pins the much larger AND ESTABLISHED wcw VET.

MikeSC, no offense, but you're stupid/haven't watched a lot of WCW to say Sting hasn't worked a good match since Vader. I DO agree, that Sting's "good matches" stopped early in 99. Sting always needed the following to have a good match: 1) Sting carried by a hard-to-beat heel (Vader, Flair) 2) Sting works program with up-and-coming face (DDP, Benoit) How about: - Sting Vs. Chris Benoit (World Title Defense, Nitro, '99) - Sting Vs. Diamond Dallas Page (World Title Defense) Nitro, Early 1998 - Sting Vs. Diamond Dallas Page (World Title Change) April 1999 - Sting Vs. Page Vs. Hogan Vs. Flair (World Title) Stampede '98 - Sting Vs. Booker T (U.S. Title Tourney Quarterfinal, Stampede 2000) That's just a few off the top of my head. Oh, and Red-and-Black Sting had an entertaining, impact-filled, albeit too short title match against Goldberg on Nitro, with an awful ending. I'd have liked to see what Sting could do with better opponents in 98-2000. Vampiro? Muta? Scott Steiner? Meh. Hall? Hogan? Meh. He never even did anything remarkable with Hart. However, he has had good-great matches in that time period. Just gotta look harder. -

* Formerly fresh workers that now bore me and are way past their peak performance eras: Booker T Billy Kidman Chris Jericho Triple H Shawn Michaels Ric Flair The Big Show Kurt Angle Kane Eddie Guerrero William Regal Gene Snitsky * I've never found anything good about: Batista The Undertaker Christian Edge John Cena Funaki Viscera Chavo Guerrero The Basham Brothers Orlando Jordan * I am currently entertained by (at least somewhat): JBL (Much moreso the gimmick, his ringwork is the shits) Rey Mysterio Chris Benoit Tajiri Paul London Akio Randy Orton (phenomenal seller and great heel, AWFUL babyface character...however has a continuing-to-get-even-better workrate) Shelton Benjamin -
How convienent.

What do you consider the "modern" age? Personally, anything after Bret Hart's title win over Flair to me is the "Modern Age".
-
They should have Artest on it.

HEY BACK ON TOPIC WWE Magazine did a feature on the IC Title. Apparently, the tape machines ran out of film during one title change, I think Santana winning or dropping the belt. Coulda been Muraco or Pedro though. They said it's a rare match only the "final moments" were caught on film.

I actually liked the ending. But listen... 1) Billy Gunn looked bored. "he sold" ? Sold what? A punch from Nash? Oookay. He can't work though...I enjoyed it only for the "YOU KNOW WHO THAT IS!" tired line that I've missed since the Monday Night Wars and TNA's attempt to try to recreate it with WWE hasbeens. 2) Syxx-Pac's run-in was cool, 'cause everyone thought it'd balance things and help Nash win the title. Well, it didn't, and Syxx Pac as a face should be...interesting. If he can work, thumbs up. 3) Jeff Jarrett's finisher SUCKS. This match would be getting a small, small, little more praise if he had taken Nash out (pass out) with the Figure Four. 4) If Nash's ring-work can be kept to a minimum via tags and 6-mans, keep him around. The crowd loves him. 5) Don't reform the Outlaws. Don't have them wrestle each other. But they have to... 6) If I'm booking the next PPV, it looks like this: Destination X "SUPER X CUP TOURNAMENT" - 7 Matches 1. AJ Styles Vs. Chris Sabin 2. Christopher Daniels Vs. Elix Skipper 3. Kid Kash Vs. Sonjay Dutt 4. Outside Talent (Evans, Guerrera, Quackenbush, Generico, etc.) Vs. Williams Styles def. Sabin Daniels DRAW Skipper Kash def. Dutt Outside Talent (must be a face) upsets Kazarian. Kazarian flips and brutalizes the star. TNA officials let Daniels and Skipper both in again due to the injury. 5. Styles def. Daniels 6. Skipper def. Kash - The battle rages on - WAR GAMES Diamond Dallas Page, Monty Brown, Kevin Nash, Syxx Pac, and Scott Hall Vs. Jeff Jarrett, Mr. gAss, Konnan, BG James, and Ron Killings Everyone has SOMETHING on the line. Page pins Jarrett to earn a title shot in April. 7. Elix Skipper upsets AJ Styles to win the tournament. __________________________ Chancy booking, yes, but now, for April you've got: DDP Vs. Jarrett - World Title AMW Vs. Outlaws - Tag Titles Konnan & Killings Vs. Nash & Syxx Pac AJ Vs. Skipper - X Title Kazarian Vs. Outside Talent - Revenge Match Daniels Vs. Sabin Monty against a new signee (Train?)
