Death Match Kings/Dragon & BBoy would be an intriguing final. -
Edge and Orton In the Midcard !

Actually, the Kane Vs. Kurt Angle match was over Kane costing Kurt Angle a shot at the WWF Title. -
Hollywood Hogan is the most recognizable mainstream wrestling figure ever. Next would be Andre the Giant. Next would be "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Next would be The Rock. Next would be "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

"Just Accept It, We're Number One Now"
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to QuestionMan's topic in General Wrestling
You're out of your freakin' mind. Half the reason Nash was over was because he was a legit cool dude. The other was because 7 months earlier he had held the WWF World Title for nearly 1 year. Taker would have been over, but the fans didn't want to see his tired boring zombie shtick. Plus, he still didn't talk that much, he had Paul Bearer as his manager at the time Nash & Hall jumped. HBK agreed. But he was...uh...the WORLD CHAMPION and still under a long-term deal. Bulldog and Bulldog? Not a chance. They were Vader's "cronies" and not top-level names. Bret? That'd have worked. Wow...imagine if HBK and Bret jumped. We might be watching a different show today. -
Who Else Deserves A 2-Disc DVD Set?
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to natey2k4's topic in The WWE Folder
Crash Holly was pushed heavily during 1999 and 2000, arguably some of WWE's greatest years. I believe in the mainstream he is more recognizable than Brian Pillman. -

JBL Vs. Edge For the WWE Title. At WrestleMania. :::shoots you::: Did you NOT just see Edge have one of the worst, most silent, main event title matches ever in Raw history? -
WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero being PINNED by D-Von Dudley in a non-title singles match on Smackdown! in 2004. Batista being CLEANLY PINNED in a matter of minutes by MAVEN on Raw, November 2004.

JoeDirt's old school match thread
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
I have it. The quality is decent but the broadcasters are German. Looks pretty good fullscreen. -
He's a silly mark who doesn't understand the business. BTW, Hart/Hennig SS 91 one of the greatest matches in WWF History? Ha. That wasn't even their best match against each other. Nice try to be "smart". This kid remarks that Hennig never "changed his singlet look when he came back". Technically, he did, wearing black/grey for the nWo (an awful look). besides, why would he need to "update" his look when IIRC, he was already PERFECT. Terrible read and doesn't warrant this many replies.

I left Raven off because I believe he is under written contract with NWA-TNA.

When did you know WWE would regain the #1. spot
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to Vern Gagne's topic in General Wrestling
MIKE. TYSON. It was shocking. It made Austin a national figure. Every kid in school talked about it. WM 14 was the true "rebirth" of the WWE's meteoric return to #1. The began winning the wars shortly after, with Raw in Philly and the McMahon/Austin weeks later non-match. -

When did WCW hit The Point Of No Return ?
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
I've spent more time than probably only a few others researching/watching/loving/hating WCW. I must say, the "Point of No Return" for WCW occurred in 1999. WWE became ultra-hot, with fresh talent, new angles, and huge ratings numbers. WCW kept having Nitros where "This'll be the one...", meaning this would have some super hot angle that would recapture the fans who were tired of seeing the athletic wrestlers lumped into meaningless undercard title matches or jobbed. It didn't happen. By the time guys like Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Rey, Eddie, Bret Hart, etc. were all given something meaningful to do, it was late 1999. The value of the company was already so far deteriorated in the eyes of the fans that they just didn't care. Benoit Vs. Hart Iron Man Match could have been advertised for Nitro, with a 2 out of 3 Falls match between Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero on the undercard for Nitro. And the show would've still drawn only a few decimal points higher. No one cared. 2000 came and the wheels began falling off. -

What do you guys think of this "ECW PPV in 2005" card: Match 1: Three-Way Match: Rey Mysterio Vs. La Parka Vs. Psychosis. Mysterio goes over to start off the crowd hot. Match 2: Lance Storm & Justin Credible Vs. John Kronus & Perry Saturn. The match we never got. Eliminators take it, with Saturn pinning Credible after Total Elimination. Match 3: Four-Way Tag Match: Johnny Grunge & Pitbull Gary Wolfe team up in their late partners honor to do battle with Nunzio & Tracy Smothers, as well as Doug Furnas & Phil Lafon, and finally Danny Doring & Roadkill. Match 4. Mikey Whipwreck Vs. 2 Cold Scorpio. Scorpio defeats Mikey in like 4 minutes, easily. Scorpio runs down ECW, bashing its legacy. He also makes about Tazz (who is doing commentary) and says he still remembers November 2 Remember 96 when he embarassed Scorpio. A match begins, and Tazz defeats Scorpio with the Tazmission in 2-3 minutes. Match 5: The heel Dudley Boys (Spike, D-Von, & Bubba) issue an open challenge. They get an answer, in the form of Tajiri, Super Crazy, and Balls Mahoney. Crazy spots and bumps, Dudleys win after a 3D on Tajiri. Match 5. Advertised as: ECW Champion Rhyno defends the title against Rob Van Dam. RVD finally wins the belt he should've won long ago. Helps re-establish RVD on Smackdown! Note: This is assuming he's healthy. New Jack interferes, running off Rhyno's ally Don Callis after severely butchering him. Match 6. Advertised as: Tommy Dreamer answers a mysterious challenge from (an) unknown challenger(s). Beulah comes out and stands by Tommy's side, then turns on him. In comes Stevie Richards. Dreamer defeats him. Brian Lee is #2. Defeated. The Blue Meanie as #3. Defeated. Finally, Dreamer says he KNOWS who sent them. It has to be....(crowd chants "Raven! Raven!") Tommy tells his old foe to come out...and he gets... CACTUS JACK! Match 7. Cactus Jack def. Tommy Dreamer. Match 8. Advertised as: Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko team up one last time to do battle with Chris Jericho & Eddie Guerrero. Match ends in a double-pinfall, as Benoit has Jericho pinned with a Dragon Suplex just as Guerrero has Dean beat with the Frog Splash. Afterwards, Dudleys attack all 4 men. But the 4 "technical" wrestlers band together and run them off. Match 9. "Gangster's Paradise" Suicide Six-Way Match: Advertised as: Former ECW World Champions do battle to decide the most hardcore of all! Includes: Mike Awesome, Masato Tanaka, The Sandman, Steve Corino, Terry Funk, and Sabu. Sabu or Funk go over, last eliminating Sandman. I THINK THIS WOULD BE AN AMAZING SHOW...

Christy Hemme to pose for Playboy
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
>>>WWE is so stupid they cannot even get this correct. Actually, WWE and Christy will get paid by PLAYBOY for the shoot, not by the fans. So what Christy is a "new" diva? WWE doesn't care. They and her were paid by Playboy. Now if the issue doesn't sell, thats Playboy's loss. -
Moments you *did* see coming
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to CanadianChick's topic in General Wrestling
I saw this thread coming. But I'll play along, I guess. I saw Eric Bischoff counting Shawn's shoulders down too coming on the Dec. 03 Raw where Michaels "won the title" in San Antonio. The way Eric shifted to clearly look at the shoulders (IIRC) and the way Michaels fell and Trips moved his own arm so Shawn could be flat on the mat gave it away. -
Hey everyone. I had a great time today in Philly with my friends at a huge sports bar, gave us free entrance, seating, let us work the house mic and lead chants. I thought I'd be devastated if they lost. They did, I shed a tear, but honestly, they played a better team, and didn't play an A game, which was needed. So close. But nothing at all to be ashamed of. But get Freddie Mitchell the fuck out of this town, please. He's a worthless cancer. Congrats Pats. 3 points. Damn.

Here is the Virgil story. The Million Dollar Belt was worth, in storyline, One Million Dollars. This is explained in either PWI or WWF Magazine when Virgil's win is highlighted, with the quote, "Now I'm the Million Dollar Common Man!"
