Edge is a much better and more exciting wrestler. I'm a sucker for heels, tho. So I like Christian a little better. Although heel Edge would probably be much better if he stayed away from the girls and was just an annoying prick. Christian seems like he's trying too hard, sometimes.
-
Whatever, it's the "Edge on the cover" issue of Raw. Just sharing. I never saw the "Dr. Death has cancer" story floating around online.

I just thought of a cool Finisher

Canada loses "Coolest Crowd Ever" title

Rikishi and Too Cool were fresh, recently turned faces, and Rumble '00 was there "coming out party". I thought it made them look like a million bucks, and it was pretty damn funny. NYC had every right to dance with them. It was a "special moment" and one of the first Rikishi dances to occur...the first on PPV, if I'm not mistaken. -
Alright, bedtime...I'm popping in Starrcade '93 for fun. A pretty terrible show, but I wanna check out the awful Kong/Shockmaster match, Scorpio in the opener and hopefully can stay awake for the main.
-
JHawk, whatcha covering for your site? Crocket, early WCW, NWA-TNA? (Indy/Foreign NWA?)
-
BTW, yes, I'm doing '90. Technically, "World Championship Wrestling" began as a company in '88 when JCP was purchased by Turner, I believe. The actual titles were being downplayed less as "The NWA United States Championship" and more as "The United States Championship" in '90 tho. They were officially the WCW <insert belt here> in Jan 91. I've got some neat title histories going up, as well. The New Zealand Militia? Early "Royal Family" name?
-
I'm assuming these house show WarGames in '91 were one ringed.

Please don't ever mention that show again. Back to Nick GaS for me. -

Smackdown spoilers from Toronto

Booker T doesn't have the talent/desire to do an interesting summer program with Eddie. Their first match after Booker got traded sucked, as will future encounters. It's not 1998. -
So I was watching the November '92 Clash... The finish of the "Bounty Tag" with Watts... Watts with a takedown on Eaton (leg). He grabs the right leg. By the way, this a "hot tag" segment with Anderson and Sasaki fighting in the ring, too. He holds the leg. Grabs the OTHER leg instead. Thinks. Thinks. Thinks. Decides to grab the right leg again. Puts on the STF. Eaton taps like Bret Hart locked on the Sharpshooter in the middle of Montreal.

The "official" ring names of these two when using THIS gimmick are needed... WCW jobbers from late '95-early '96
-
When the NWO reformed on the infamous Nitro with the finger point, Nash and Hogan demanded that all "World Orders" would be stopped. The jobber luchadores agreed (also, Eddie was injured at this time), but after months of fighting AGAINST the heel LWO, Mysterio (who was forced to join), had pride in his "colors" and didn't want to give them up. This sparked the feud where Mysterio lost his mask...upset Nash on Nitro...and then got destroyed by Nash at the PPV rematch.
-
By the way, the WWE *does* recognize Antonio Inoki's WWE World Title reign, by defeating Bob Backlund. They acknowledge and mentioned it was accepted in an old WWF Magazine, spotlighting the title's history.
-
6) Technically, the "WCW" gimmick was The Cobra.
-
...Who had a similar gimmick as Taka Michinoku & Sho Funaki, 2 members of Kaientai along with DICK TOGO.

Who fucks X-PAC.

Quite frankly it's silly for the fans to "cheer on" Benoit against the likes of La Resistance. -

Hailing from Philly, and being an old-school NYC fans hater, I must say that from attending both Philly WWE events and NYC WWE events up at college. The NYC crowds (especially MSG) absolutely destroy the heat and reactions of the Philly crowds. Definately not in other "sports", but NYC has much better WWE fans. -
Graham, I applaud your efforts on watching that...show. I enjoyed the Phillies 3 hour rain delay better. I still like Rude's..."A SLIP OF THE KNIFE!" comment.

They should have came out to "Who Could it Be Now?" -
By the way, Mike Awesome defeated ERNEST MILLER (officially) in his WCW PPV debut. Awesome was the 8th and final "mystery entrant" in the U.S. Title tourney (after Sid was denied access on the previous Thunder). Bigelow beat up The Cat backstage and wrestled with Awesome. Part of the "new" WCW's "anything goes!" attitude. The Cat entered late in the match, danced, and got Top Rope Awesome Splashed for the pinfall by Mike.
