The image of Finley surrounded by drunken Leprechauns, such as in "The Great White Hype" has forced me to smile. -

More likely, this... Eugene Vs. Garrison Cade is announced for Bad Blood. Backstage, Bischoff announces to Regal... "If Eugene loses, he never wrestles again, and YOU are back to the roster, Mr. Regal!" "If Eugene wins...you're out of a job, forever!" Then, Regal can interfere "accidently" and Eugene is distracted, Cade powerslams him. Cade up for the "worst elbow in the business", and then Regal has a change of heart, shoves him off the top, and costs Cade the match, going full babyface in the process. Backstage, Eugene "celebrates" near Eric and hugs Regal repetitively...Regal hugs him one last time and tells him "he has to leave for a while". The next couple weeks on Raw...Cade and Coach KICK THE EVER LOVING SHIT OUT OF EUGENE. Finally, 3-4 weeks later.....REGAL RETURNS!!! Imagine the monster pop for this? -
...who in 2004 has a beer belly, like CURT HENNIG did in his 1997 WCW debut on Pay-Per-View! ...(Buddy Rogers was never a WCW World Champion, btw.)
-
Probably Nash, then. Peculiar result from 10/92...on 10/02 Steamboat's got the TV strap. On 10/03 Scott Steiner has it. Know there was a title change on TV where Steiner (heelishly) rolled up a groin-injured Steamboat from behind to win the belt (WCW's "peace-offering" to try to get Scott & Rick to stay...). WCW just advertising a champ before it happened on TV?
-
Hmmm...this "Master Blaster" from '91...was this Nash or Al Greene?

I hope Christian is alright to wrestle, or we get an update on him. I DON'T WANT Jericho Vs. Tom Co. anywhere near the PPV. Interesting to see the matches tonite, since they kinda blew their load the past couple weeks, I expect: -Triple H rants on HBK. Bischoff/Nitro out. Blah blah. HHH gets HBK unsuspended. But...the match will be..."Hell in a Cell!" -Kane does bad things to Matt & Lita. Benoit saves. (This would be very uncharacteristic for Benoit, however, to help Hardy/Lita when he already has 2 title belts to worry about...) I'm thinking Benoit saves them...gets his ass kicked, resulting in him being in bad shape and Benoit/Edge dropping the tag titles? Will Eugene wrestle? I hope not. I'd like to see him get another match, properly HYPED for next week, against someone decent. I'd like an explanation for this "Sly" character (Sylvain Grenier), name change, whatever. I'd like Garrison Cade to grow a bear/goatee and continue his slow evolution into Barry Windham. The tights, the boots, the hair (it's growing), the long-legged kicks. I want a good Raw. -
Sting Vs. Booker was match of the Night at Stampede, **.

Thanks guys. The seperate pages (see 1991, and 1992) are becoming a lot more visually appealing on the eye, and filled with results and stuff when I have time.

MrRant, what's your deal, man? I'll post in the NFL when the season rolls around. Thanks again for your useless post. Which was just followed up by a useless post of my own. Sigh. -

Thoughts on last night's game: -Flyers looked like crap to start off. Their defense was awful. -Lacavalier is just tremendous. -Flyers start to get the puck in the offensive zone but show NO signs of being able to mount a consistent offense. -Lightning defense gets REALLY strong. -Both teams play standstill hockey, good defense, a few attacks. -Flyers commit STUPID, STUPID penalty, leading to go-ahead goal for Lightning, heading into 2nd intermission. -Flyers throw EVERYTHING at Lightning in third. Finally, Primeau steps up AGAIN and ties it. -Crowd is loud, good stuff. -Overtime: Few STUPID Flyers mistakes lead to odd-man rushes for Lightning, saved by quick defensive plays, bad passes or Esche's goaltending. -Overtime: Flyers pick up the offense, crashing the board. Gagne keeps trying. -Gagne sneaks it past Khabibulin after 2 bounces! AMAZING GAME. I was critical on the Flyers, but as a Philadelphia area native and fan since forever, they made WAY too many bad passes, shitty offensive attacks, and played with little energy for WAY TOO LONG in a "*must win* Game 6. They really got things going in the 3rd period and OT! Hope this carries over to Game 7...which is gonna be a FIGHT. Let's Go Flyers! -
Obscure Wrestling Matches that were taped
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Pretty sure this one's true... WCW's Boogie Knights were booked to win the World Tag Titles from the Natural Born Thrillers in Germany. Disqo went down with an injury, so they booked it as Hugh Morrus & Alex Wright winning the titles. The match was taped, but Morrus was told to "hide" from the camera, so they could announce Wright & Disqo as the winners. WCW's pretty much saying "Germans just hallucinate...Disqo was there!" At any rate, match was never shown, just a brief clip of Wright getting the pin. -

AWESOME job, I like the layout! Since we have 1990 in limbo, I will take it if you don't want it. Is "1990" a Crockett year, tho? I know the company referred to itself as "World Championship Wrestling", but was it officially seperated by the beginning of 1990? I doubt it. Anyway, nice site, can't wait for results. -
Eek. I purposely deleted the managers, finishes, etc. for simplicity. I think I'm gonna go year from year and add EVERYTHING. I'm working on 2001 and 1998 now...specifically, every single show. Thanks for the advice. -Eddie

Obscure Wrestling Matches that were taped

Here's a more recent one... Kevin Nash & Brian Adams defeated "Buff" Bagwell, Lex Luger, & WCW World Champion Scott Steiner. From the Feb 11th House Show in Baton Rouge. Arguably 4 of the laziest workers in one match, with Scott Steiner providing the "workrate". This was the MAIN EVENT, by the way. -
I don't intend the double spacing. I agree. It puts them in for whatever reason. I'll try to correct and get the format even more viewer-friendly over the weekend while I work on the site. EDIT: Go here, to 2001's result I put up so far... http://p2.hostingprod.com/@thehistoryofwcw.com/WCW2001.html Tell me if that is visually pleasing. I'll be changing the font color of the individual show names or house show cities soon. It should be a larger PPV/TV Show/Clash/City name...then the Date and City (if applicable) at a smaller font, then each match, numbered. Lotsa stuff I have to add this weekend, hope ya like. -Eddie

I don't copy n paste results, as I write them in my own basic format, with the 1. ____wrestler____ defeated (possible title) ____wrestler____ (possibly to win). And notes on special features (retirement, loss of something, etc.) underneath. Digest does have all the house shows/tapings I need, however. I HAVE found that several write-ups, most notably from Scott Keith's WCW PPV rants, some DDT Digest House Show reports, and some results from Steve's Wrestling.com (all great sources) are WRONG. That's why I don't want to simply Copy and Paste. I check some things that from memory, seem inaccurate or skewed.

I fixed the Font issue. House Shows are goin' up constantly.
-
DrDrainoScott, thanks for the interest. Please understand that the font size you see, and spacing, etc. are not necessarily the final look. The HTML is being edited... *** Souled Out 1997 <---14 point font Blah blah, Date, Arena, Location <--- 12 point font 1. Jack Ass defeated Vader. <--- 12 point font 2. Sting defeated Dick Slater. <---12 point font. etc. Is the format it should read. I'm trying to get the HTML to read correctly. Don't worry.

Hey...anyone have early (91-94) WCW non-televised house results? I've got a handful, plus a ton of PWI/WCW Magazine results I'm doing...any help would work for WCW specifically first.
