Hopefully this Nick Dinsmore guy is HILARIOUS, or else I'm gonna hate his Eugene gimmick. Chick battle royal, eww. No Victoria and Gail Kim is in it? Yay. Nidia wins.

    Who's Your Favorite WWE Wrestler?

At my fraternity's semi-formal last night, "awards" were handed out for the year. One of the guys got the "Chris Benoit Best Technical Drinker" award. Of course this totally went over the crowd's head, but still, I found it funny when I heard it announced. Another reason Benoit rules, cause he inspires.

    Non-Fans watched Shelton/HHH with me...

Well, here's what we saw: Shelton looked likle a cocky badass, with cool mannerisms, smirks, and a nice moveset. Triple H sold well for him. -The match BEFORE the commercial was quite good. -The match AFTER the commercial was mediocre at best. Restholds and slowness from Trips and dominance over Benjamin slowed it down, and it was quite frankly, boring for a while. -The ending was pretty good. Would have liked to see Benjamin establish a "finisher" to upset Triple H with. This is similar to Hurricane going over Rock last year...but with Benjamin, they actually have a plan for him. Triple H gave him a hard-fought roll-up victory. He didn't really "put him over". The match itself: ** 1/2 The non-fans really got interested in Benjamin. They even discussed his career at Minnesota when JR brought it up. They hated Trips, and EXPLODED when Benjamin upset him, because they knew he was an underdog, and the match made them like him. Kudos to WWE. RAW also made us cheer for Tajiri against Kane. My "smart" friend lost a bet. One of the marks claimed he'd bet 10 bucks that Tajiri would win. Haha. Good RAW. Tag match kicked ass too, save for the shitty ending.

So now that he's the deadman again.....

Hey...what if...now this is the internet so of course this idea would never happen...The Big Show steals The Undertaker's urn!!!!!!!!!! JUDGMENT DAY: The Big Show Vs. The Undertaker Show wins a "shocker" when Bearer turns on Taker and reveals to be Big Show's TRUE father! "I'm a bastard no more, they were married!! ARGGHHHHH THECHOKESLAM!!!!!!!!!!!" Show goes on to feud with Guerrero at Vengeance.

Question from the Monday Night Wars DVD

Actually, Flair "as WCW President" took Roddy Piper as "Vice President" (or "RP-VP" as he called himself), and they formed a group that blatantly claimed they'd never pass the torch to the "young guys". Of course, the internet was BEGGING for the new guys to be pushed. This is PRE-Vince Russo WCW. So after Chris Kanyon turned heel on Benoit & Perry Saturn (tag champs) and joined the "old guys" (WTF?)...we had... Old Guard: Flair, Piper, Kanyon, DDP, Bigelow against the "Young Superstars", consisting of Benoit, Saturn, Malenko (ridiculously misplaced, however, he never became a 'superstar' so he was put with these guys), Buff Bagwell (who was beginning to tread water workrate wise), but no leader. Shane Douglas came and formed a stable with Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn. The internet fans creamed themselves. "Triple Threat and Saturn OMG!!!!!" Then they realized: 1)Douglas fucking sucks. 2)Benoit/Malenko/Saturn are shit on the microphone. 3)The group used a lame "Beautiful People" ripoff. and 4)The angle was ending. How? Well, let's look at WCW FALL BRAWL 1999 for proof. The Revolution, as they were called, had 3 matches. Saturn had a TV Title shot against AWFUL champion Rick Steiner. Most predicted Saturn would upset and take the title. Douglas & Malenko teamed to face lame Jimmy Hart jobber team Brian Knobs & Hugh Morrus in a "top contender's" match. DUH, Revolution goes over, right? U.S. Champ Benoit faced the "undefeated" Sid, who wanted a piece of Goldberg. -Saturn jobbed to Steiner. -Douglas and Malenko jobbed to Morrus & Knobs. -Benoit lost the U.S. title to Sid. Russo came in, Benoit was kicked out of the group, and the Revolution actually became pretty cool as dickhead heels (albeit Douglas still sucked). Some decent Filthy Animals Vs. Evil Revolution matches came about, too.

How can a guy have a finisher that relies on another person first CATCHING his foot and spinning him around? A defensive finishing maneuever? Yuck. Like Storm's Rolling Crab...fun to look at, but a bit contrived.

Smackdown house show results for 3/29/04

I'm not "grading" it. Do you see letters? I based my fractions on whether I, and frankly any intelligent person with money, would pay to see such a show. And it looks like it sucked, like most of Smackdown in 2004.

WWE stars hit with sexual harrassment suit

I swear showing this Plane Ride on Pay-Per-View would get a better rating than "The Stone Cold Truth" on this month's Fanatic Series. probably better than Backlash's, too.

    Oh, My...Re-Re Wrestling

"He's gonna PUKE! He's gonna PUKE! He's gonna..PUKE!" Sorry, saw a post that made me laugh out loud. I saw "Kevin Fertig" at the RAW tapings the night after WM XX. His match sucked.

Smackdown house show results for 3/29/04

    1) Dudley Boyz def. Billy Kidman, Paul London and Orlando Jordan in a Six Man Tag Match when the Dudleys hit 3D on London. Of course, the most talented man in the match gets pinned. Could care less. Shitty match, I'm sure. 0/1 2) OVW Tag Challenge: Johnny Jeter and Sean O'Haire def. Nick Dinsmore and Inspector Impact. Good God. O'Haire? Inspector Impact? Nice load of heatless crap there. 0/2 3) Chavo Guerrero def. Nunzio and Rey Misterio in a Triple Threat Elimination Match to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title. Probably decent, although house show predictable regarding elimination order. 1/3 4) Mark Jindrak def. Billy Gunn with his feet on the ropes. The match we paid to see. 1/4 5) John Bradshaw Layfield def. Shannon Moore with the Clothesline From Hell. Interesting note that he is still using the APA theme and wearing APA tights. I'm guessing Bradshaw did NO mic work...had NO new theme & NO new tights? So they disrespect the paying customers by assuming they don't deserve a gimmick's full attention, AND you get a shitty squash! Try 1/5 6) Undertaker def. Booker T with the Tombstone in a total squash in less than a minute. Isn't that lovely. Squash! 1/6 7) Rob Van Dam def. Charlie Haas with the 5 Star Frog Splash. Eh...probably longer than the Smackdown! match...but honestly, what's the point? Haas' singles work needs skill, he's not seen as a credible mid-card singles guy yet (but will, hopefully). RVD is RVD...missed the boat with this guy years ago. 1/7 8) Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty def. Basham Bros and Akio/Sakoda in a Triple Threat Elimination match to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles. Tajiri's henchmen were heatless and useless WITH Tajiri still ON the show. Sakoda's awful, too. The Bashams work well, usually only with quick, bump-taking face teams, however. Rikishi & Scotty blow. Who fucking paid for this show? 1/8 9) John Cena def. Renee Dupree with F5 to retain the WWE United States Title. Well, Cena was gaining steam as a heel. Because he was carried by Angle and Taker. Then he turned face. His raps are now worse than his funny mid-2003 ones and his wretchid late-2003 ones. His workrate dissapears every show, and his injuries aren't helping either, however much they're worked or not. Dupree has potential...but I think it's a bit too soon to bill him as the "U.S. Title #1 Challenger". Crowd was probably very hot tho...call this a DRAW. 1.5/9 10) Eddie Guerrero def. Big Show by using the title belt when the referee was down to retain the WWE Title. Guerrero rules all, and Show/Guerrero has proven to be entertaining and effective. I'd like to see it one more time. Probably was decent, and helps cement Eddie with the fans. 2.5/10 YEAH, sounds like a "great" show. My dear, the Smackdown! brand sucks.

    Backlash card

Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels Vs. Chris Benoit I DO NOT think this will stand...It SHOULDN'T anyway, as Benoit/HBK in FUCKING CANADA would be better than redoing the (excellent) WM main event. I'd hope to see Benjamin/HHH at the PPV. They fucked themselves tonight, tho. EDGE Vs. KANE ?!?!? What is this shit? Should've built the midcard matches better for more durability, instead of blowing their load for Y2J/Christian and Edge/Kane. Where does Benjamin fit in now? Against old man Flair? Shitty Batista? Yay.

    Backlash card

After tonight, hopefully we'll begin a build to some meaningful stuff. Kane/Jericho would be meaningful. He took out his knee. Christian hides like a pussy behind Kane to avoid Y2J. Jericho has Trish in his grasp, about to deck her, kane interferes, etc. Plus, who else would Kane wrestle? THIS MAKES SENSE. It also frees up another GOOD match between say, Shelton and Christian...where both can look good, it's billed as "an important match as both look to climb the ladder", its entertaining, fills up more time, and puts someone over, and another with a strong performance in a loss.
  21. UseTheSledgehammerUh

    Backlash card

Choken, blow off feuds at Backlash and set up new one's for JD? Agreed, but ahh...Judgment Day is a Smackdown! PPV. Have the blowoff for Y2J/Christian at Bad Blood.
  22. UseTheSledgehammerUh

    Backlash card

Canadian Stampede is different. It was a two-hour pay-per-view, first off. Plus, they had a solid stable of heels to battle a solid stable of faces. Unfortunately, instead of the faces that were over (like HBK and Sid, for example), we got Goldust and LOD on Austin's team. They need to now fill up 2 hrs and 45 minutes with at least 7 matches, and only so many faces. I say, hold off on Christian/Jericho, and allow them to face other people this month. Keep them feuding/interfering, but not a blowoff yet, so that the card can benefit. That way, we can get: Kane Vs. Chris Jericho (Kane goes over, continues his rebuilding process...a decent/solid match occurs...Christian/Trish get heat from interfering and Christian Vs. FACE Shelton Benjamin (very solid/great match...Christian's super-push continues...Shelton looks great, albeit in a losing effort) And the NEXT night, they can have Shelton and Jericho tag. Shelton can leech some of Jericho's face heat to continue his turn. So I'd do... Benoit Vs. Michaels Edge Vs. Triple H Jericho Vs. Kane Orton Vs. Foley Christian Vs. Benjamin Flair & Batista Vs. (Build a Team) Victoria Vs. Nidia Throw in some decent angles by that time and the card will be GOOD.

    Merchandise at WWE House Shows

Feel the excitement and revenue generated by KANE t-shirts! I want to wear a picture of my favorite bald crazy WM 20 jobber to school! Whoo!! Seriously, tho...they were selling Cena stuff like crazy RAW after WM. I saw the BEST shirt there, however, which the WWE didn't produce. A fan had a shirt with Mick Foley on the front, giving a goofy thumbs up. Above the picture: "RANDY'S BITCH" I loved it.

    John "Bradshaw" Rules...

I know I'm gonna get shit for this. Bradshaw, known hazer and largely unmotivated worker has really sucked, or at least had no entertainment value, since early 2000 for me. Not since he was stiffing the Hardys and E & C and delivering somewhat funny promos with Faarooq. His team was boring. His RAW "hardcore cowboy" singles push sucked ass. His recent change to "blonde hair" APA member blew too, as his singles work was not entertaining against the likes of A-Train, Show, etc. BUT... We like heels. We like cocky asshole heels. We like mainstream attention to WWE. We hate Bradshaw. We wanna cheer Eddie. This "money-wise tycoon" Bradshaw can work...IF... Bradshaw's ring-work is "smash mouth". By this I do not mean a few Clotheslines from Hell that are predictably setup by an opponent charging into the corner and missing, and Bradshaw running off the ropes. I want Vader/Stan Hansen ring work. I want 1999 Acolyte Bradshaw, kicking people in the face, occassionaly stiffing the youngens, powerbombs, clotheslines, chairs, bats, and more chairs. I want Bradshaw to come off as believing in himself, that he is correct. I want the 'net to hate his "scientific" style, or lack thereof, but enjoy his asshole "I'm on MSNBC" crap. So far, so good, IMO. He may have a shitty track record. But I think he's on the right track. Would I make him WWE Champion? HELL NO. Does he deserve a main event TRY? Hell yes. He's been in WWE for 8 years. If it sucks, he'll go back to Velocity and job to the FBI, like Hardcore Holly. Can we try to be optimistic? :::2 weeks ago::: "SMACKDOWN HAS NO HEELS!! WE NEED HEELS!!!!!" :::Bradshaw does (thus far) successful heel turn::: "NO BRADSHAW SHOULDN'T BE A HEEL!! WHAAAAAA! HE'LL BEAT EDDIE!"

    Merchandise at WWE House Shows

I was at the RAW the night after WrestleMania. They had. John Cena's WW World Life baseball type shirt. RVD's new orange shirt. Evolution shirt. New Kane shirt. Tons of Austin crap. RAW Program (large version of insert that came with the first new logo RAW Magazine a few months ago). RVD hands. Cena hands. Rock "How Long Has It Been..." shirt. A few others I think. Oh, the new red RAW shirt.
