The OAO Armageddon PPV Thread- 12/14/03

I'm takin' a few of my fraternity rushes to check out the card at a sports restaurant/bar in Bridgewater, NJ. They seem excited for what looks like a small card. Goldberg/Kane/HHH could be average. Does Goldy retain tho, or do they give Kane the belt, setup a RR rematch, and return Taker, costing Kane the belt, setting up WM? Goldy going over tonight and then at Rumble, too (or another rematch) makes Kane look like a puss. So this match could be surprising. How long has it been since we CLEARLY knew HHH was losing in a title match? The I-C title match will be decent. Orton's no Malenko, but he can hang with RVD. Foley's involvement will pop the audience. WORST TAG TURMOIL EVER. Storm/Venis, Fucking Lame Superheros, French Rookies, Bland Rookies, Stale Dudleys and Roids on Parade. THEY ALL SUCK...alright, Venis and Storm work well, but they're just uncreative and dull. However, I like Steiner and Test, if only because they're too idiots and make my friends & I laugh. Steiner on RAW last week: "Shut up, Booker T!" Hope Scott & Test win. Batista and HBK. See, Batista's the "Sid" of the Horsemen I guess. But the difference? People LIKED SID...they chanted for him, popped for him, and he was cool. He sucked in the ring for the most part in 90-91, but still, people saw him as the cool, enacing badass. Batista, on the other hand, is boring, slow, plodding, and sucks monkey balls. If Michaels gets him over ** 1/2 I'll be shocked. Who else is fighting? Oh, Booker T, repetitive yawner and Mark Henry, Fat Slob. Yay, this'll give me a chance to order some food. Oh and Christian and Jericho Vs. Two Women. WTF. This'll last 5 minutes... So we get 5 actual matches? Turmoil is one long tag match. Most likely La Resistance over Supershitty Heros in 4 minutes. La Resistance over Storm/Venis in 5 minutes. Dudleys over Frenchies in 5 minutes. Dudleys over Steiner/Test in 5 minutes. Cade/Jindrak over Dudleys in 8 minutes. Batista bringing the working shoes tonight!!!! 30+ minutes!

The REAL December WWF/E PPV History Thread

I believe Quinn was a jobber that temporarily teamed with Scott Taylor when Brian Christopher was "sidelined". In story, Too Cool were still an unover, heel, homoesexual dancing jobber team. Christopher got jealous of Quinn teaming with Taylor, so he faced him on HeAT. Quinn defeated Christopher for some reason, and was never seen again. Picture a bland, ugly-singlet guy with a ponytail and brown hair...and a goatee I think.

We DID however, renew Mark Henry's deal! Yay! Keep it up. Check out my shit if you get a chance...I'll keep doin' the same here.

Winner Gets a WWE World Title on WWE Saturday Night 6. Brock Lesnar pinned Chris Benoit at 14:54 after repeated overhead back suplexes, which dropped Benoit square on his neck. Benoit made the easy pin. *** 1/2 Interesting, as the new heel Crippler gets knocked out. Who does Lesnar face Saturday? -Video package highlighting the Batista/HBK U.S. Title feud :::commercial for the 2004 WWE ROYAL RUMBLE, coming in early January 2004 here at TSM Forums::: -Backstage, Orton pumps up Batista for his title defense, and runs down Michaels. Evolution's newest member, The Huirricane, says that effective right now, he QUITS Evolution and their "Evildoing" ways! Eric Bischoff enters the room and tells Hurricane that if he quits the group, he'll no longer be able to compete in the WWE as "The Hurricane" again! Hurricane looks very upset, as Bischoff adds "Do I make myself clear, Shane?" -Backstage, Michaels laces up the boots... WWE United States Title Match 7. Batista pinned Shawn Michaels to retain the title. Batista destroyed Michaels' lower back, outside and in the ring. Michaels used his quickness to fight back. Batista picked up the pinfall to retain the title after hitting his own "superkick" in 12 minutes. -Backstage, Orton and Triple H congratulated Batista on having the true best "Sweet Chin Music" in WWE, and predicted Michaels career was over after his beating. -Highlights of the WWE Title Tourney, and Taker's rampage as WWE Champion. WWE World Title Fatal Four-Way 8. Goldberg annihilated Flair with a spear to pin him for the first elimination. Cena hit Goldberg with the F-U, but fell prey to a Taker chokeslam...and kicked out at 2! Taker soon hit the Last Ride to eliminate Cena. Goldberg spears Taker!!! 2 count! Run-in by Christopher Daniels...this is no-DQ, however! DANIELS IS SPEARED OUT OF HIS BOOTS! But from behind, AJ Styles attacks and hits Berg with a chair. Goldberg grabs AJ by the throat, and press slams him over the top rope! Taker recovered and kicked Goldberg in the face. Later, Berg hits a powerslam for 2! Even later, Taker has severely damaged Goldberg's neck with various submissions...these two have beat the hell out of each other. Berg ducks a big boot and battles back with a stiff Hitman-Killer Superkick! Berg is ready to finish Taker! HE HITS A BEAUTIFUL SPEAR...but Taker is sent to the outside! The New Pollution attack Goldberg, as Eric Bischoff has come to ringside. Taker clips Berg in the back of the knee with a chair. He DDTs him on the chair, hard! Back inside, Bischoff has taken out the referee. Taker grabs the chair and swings for Goldberg, only to hit Bischoff. Suddenly... "IF YA SMELLLLLLL......" It...it's The Rock! MAH GAWD HELL FIRE AND BARBEQUE SAUCE AND BRIMSTONE THE BRAUMA BULL IS BACK! The Rock enters the ring, and runs directly for The Undertaker, who he hits with a massive leaping clothesline! Dazed, he turns and Goldberg kicks him...sets him up....JACKHAMMER!!!! HE HIT IT!!!! REFEREE IS UP....1......2......NO, BAH GAWD HE KICKED OUT!!!! Goldberg sets him up for the second Jackhammer, as The Rock cracks Eric Bischoff with a steel chair outside the ring! He hit it! 1....2.....3! And we have a new WWE World Champion. *** ALL SET FOR WCW SATURDAY NIGHT.... -TV Champion Randy Orton, a pissed off Triple H, an unhappy Hurricane, and U.S. Champion Batista -The New WWE World Champion Goldberg....Vs. Brock Lesnar???? -Updates on Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit -The New WWE Tag Champs -An update on the Royal Rumble PPV...and a ton more....seeya!

    WWE World Title Tourney

Hey guys, sorry about not finishing the PPV...I've been pretty busy and sick lately. I'll finish the results, and be back with WWE SN after Saturday... I usually only do this when drunk anyway, which is like...Saturdays and stuff. But here's the rest...

What the blue hell is this on HBO?

So I turned on HBO at like 12:30 afternoon today and saw some "spy" / "teenage" movie that looked good. It turned out to be nothing but a shill for pop culture...with Britney Spears as a stuardess...NSync members working/being annoying in a pizza place...a guy from the LFO boy band as a cop, that Tapanga chick from BMW as "the jock's gf"...Brad from Home Improvement as "the jock". Anyway, to keep this WWE related... As the RVD-esque ninja kid was walking this blonde around...I almost spit my lungs out at the TV... The Rock, the fucking ROCK jumps out an attacks them with a knife in a dark alley! Hahahahaha. Wearing his Rumble '99 attire and all. Laughing My Ass Off. What the hell is this? When's it from?

What the blue hell is this on HBO?

Let's not forget Screech and Lisa from Saved by the Bell, and a host of worthless boy/girlbands singing like assholes. Gilbert Godfried and the blonde haired bitch that shot down Hobey on Baywatch, The lip-synching on this is worse than the SBTB crew.

Caddyshack, baby!!!! Adam Sandler is so not over giving this speech. He just yells like Triple H to get a response after stuttering through his lines. Rodney getting helped on stage by hot juggies to Kenny Logins songs is so awesome.

I have decided to watch a ruored awful show in hopes of making RAW, which is kinda decent lately, seem better. Eh...hockey...: 7th Heaven it is...hold up, Rodney Dangerfield special on Comedy Central. Wait, The Commies....cool. Never seen before. Whoo!

ligerbomb, I love pro wrestling, always have and always will. We all know it sucks...I was just commenting to ChrisMWaters that it isn't "funny" bad, just bad. ALTHOUGH, 3 weeks ago was good...2 weeks ago a little less good...last week a little less good. I think the show after the PPV is pretty good, and it deteriorates once the feuds get established. But, uh, Victoria is wrestling Trish, so I AM HAPPY AND WILL WATCH.

The OAO Raw Thread for the 8th of December 2003

Sadly, RAW doesn't make me laugh. It makes e feel sad. Like, WCW in late 1992 made me laugh. Seeing Erik Watts go over guys like Arn and Eaton every week was funny, because I knew eventually Bill Watts would be replaced and Erik would be jobbing to The Cole Twins on WCW Saturday Night in '93. Watching RAW, its like the same shitty stuff....but a new direction isn't in sight. You take the good, you take the bad, and RAW will just make you sad. No funny face Jericho, RVD/Orton, Michaels losing to big nimrod Batista, fatter Trips, Goldberg, boring Kane, boring rookie team, stupid bitches get "revenge"....I dont wanna see it.

The OAO Raw Thread for the 8th of December 2003

RVD/Batista? Barf. No-finish here. Team Chris loses to Dudleys when stupid bitches "accidently" do something. Kane/Goldberg no-contest. Canadian Unover team that I kinda like will lose to even more unover rookies that I hate. Did I see "Steiner/Test/Mark Henry" somewhere? That was a joke right. God why did I wake up for this.

Hey everyone. I've got a 103.6 degree fever. It's been climbing since Sunday morning but I'm sick of laying in bed now. I'm really hopin' for a good show. No "Chug a Beer if _______" tonight...let's change it too "Take Two Tylenol Flu Capsules If_____" ....if Trish "plays" Jericho someway tonight.

    The 2002 Survivor Series

The 2002 Survivor Series, a decent show, actually was a turning point in the way of new top faces, new top heels, ending great feuds, and having a neat feel to it by taking place at MSG. This show had a lot of impact at once on the WWE, moreso then any PPV I can remember. 1. Tables Match - Spike, Bubba and Jeff Hardy defeated Rico and 3-Minute Warning. Underrated match! Not so much for the average ringwork, but the bumps were pretty brutal. Impact: Cements 3-Minute Warning as jobbers after months of destroying old ladies, legends, and The Dudleys. Impact: Brings back D-Von to a MONSTER pop, return of the Dudleyz. Saliva performs "Always". This sucks. 2. WWE Cruiserweight Title Match - Kidman defeats Jamie Noble for the title. SOLID bout. Crowd gives Kidman and Noble heat, whooo! Impact: A cruiserweight title change at MSG on PPV. Should have sent Kidman onto a nice reign. Injuries and poor booking destroyed that, though. 3. Hardcore Match: WWE Women's Title. Victoria defeats Trish Stratus. Horrible overrated match. Little wrestling flow and some "trash can" shots. Awful, blown, rescripted finish. Impact: New top women's heel cemented in Victoria. OVW stars continue to win titles, new face. -Big Show/Bischoff promo. While not important, it did stress the differences in brands...i.e. Show a jobber on RAW, World Title contender on Smackdown. 4. Brock Lesnar Vs. The Big Show for the WWE Title, Show takes it. This match is historically huge. 1)The Internet creas for Lesnar and his F-5, and likes his face turn. 2)The live crowd goes apeshit for face Brock, leading his character to a WrestleMania main event. 3)Big Show is made into a top Smackdown heel (still is today). It also begins Brock's WM chase. 5. Guerreros Vs. Edge/Rey Vs. Angle/Benoit. This match is extremely shitty for most parts, but has some REALLY GOOD Angle/Benoit parts. Not a great bout, but does do the following: 1)Ends the "Smackdown Six" battles. 2)Establishes Los Guerreros as Smackdown's top team (still are today). 3)Rekindles Benoit Vs. Angle Scott Steiner debut. Kinda important, I suppose. Matt's "Version 1" character debuts on PPV finally. "RNN Breaking News"...kept Orton enjoyable in a small vignette...Orton's very first PPV appearence? Elimination Chamber. The better of the two. First time. Kane/HBK's first meeting. Booker T/RVD in a PPV main event. Had a lot of intrigue for being a new gimmick match. Michaels puts in a good effort, as does HHH. RVD works his ass off. EC wasn't as "dynamic" as Hell in a Cell was after its debut, but it was something different. This PPV: Establishes VICTORIA, LOS GUERREROS, BIG SHOW, MICHAELS, KIDMAN, ORTON, etc. in one night. Say what you want about how each was booked afterwards, but this show did its best to make the look great. It also created the #1 face in WWE, Brock Lesnar.

    Good news!

Well, the NWA may be around as a company name, but its under various incarnations around the nation, with most being very pathetic. The true NWA died in '91...as did any World Title recognition they deserve. Sorry, I preferred World Title matches in different venues, televised weekly or building to a huge PPV...instead of.. "Double J hits the guitar shot!" every week in the same bush-league venue. I'm sure 55 year old Hogan will save everything Noveber 2003 with the PPV...I mean January 2004...errr...May 2004...uh, it ain't happening. The fact that TNA has politics and has pissed off the internet without even having a credible company makes me laugh.

    Good news!

For the guy that said "I hope Jones doesn't go to NWA", please call it NWA-TNA. The NWA died in '91. NWA-TNA is a shitty indy with washed up ex-WCW talent and a few very good marketable stars they have built from the South that runs on PPV every week. I hope Jones goes there and becomes NWA-TNA "World Heavyweight Champion" (ha!), Like Double J and K-Kwik. So they can put up a graphic before Jones squashes Jarrett about how the belt dates back (insert ficitious NWA bullshit claim) so many years... Anyway, as far as Jones go, he sucks. I am SNOWED IN and watching Rumble 2003, guess which match? The ONE-STAR classic (yes, it deserves a star...Steiner/HHH was actually almost watchable the first half, they tried and used psychology of the back, and hit their moves solidly before it turned into Steiner sucking wind and just AWFULNESS). I'd still take one of the most awful displays this year over any NATHAN JONES match. I hate him.
  19. UseTheSledgehammerUh

What's the last wrestling tape you bought?

Ultimate Ric Flair Collection Good stuff, most holds up over time except the stuff with Dusty and Race, who suck. I hate the Sting match they picked. With the ridiculous Sherri turn. I would have liked to see, I dunno, maybe Luger/Flair from Capital Combat or something (if they needed a 20-minute bout).

    The 2002 Survivor Series

If we're talking about INVASION Kidman, the crowds couldn't give a SHIT about him. They only popped for his (few) highspots, and when he beat X-Pac. They tried pushing him as an "alliance guy that gets cheered" for about a week, including a match against Alliance-ally Tazz on RAW. The crowd chanted "boring" during these attempts, and he was quickly thrust into jobber status (read: Survivor Series 01 Battle Royal).

your WWE SMACKDOWN WORKRATE REPORT- 12/4/2003~!~!

I think A-Train attacking heels to save his bets could be good...even make him a face? If he puts some clothes on, works the streets, and chokebombs the likes of FBI, Jones, and Morgan and gets 'em off TV quicker, I won't have a problem.
  22. UseTheSledgehammerUh

    The 2002 Survivor Series

It's a turning point because it represents a changing of stories. That has nothing to do with how the stories are "good" or "bad". By the way, uh, I'll take December 2003 WWE over December 2002 WWE.
  23. UseTheSledgehammerUh

    The 2002 Survivor Series

Olympic Slam, I don't think you can make that case. The only recent "major happenings" at PPVs for WWE stars are like: -Goldberg wins World Title at Unforgiven -La Resistance wins Tag Titles at Badd Blood -Team Angle cemented as top team at WM 19 -Tajiri pushed over Rey at top cruiser -Orton made major player in wins over HBK/Team Austin Stuff like that. SSeries 02 made Big Show a major player, made Kidman the top cruiser, made Los Guerreros the top team, threw HBK to the top, turned Brock face, established Victoria as a new champ, put Orton on PPV, debuted Steiner, etc. all at ONCE...I found it pretty neat.
  24. UseTheSledgehammerUh

    The 2002 Survivor Series

Bob, maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part then for Noble/Kidman to have some heat. On a second look, the later parts had some noise, the last 2 minutes were really hot, and the rest was not well-responded too. And they took Kidman's wifebeater and jean shorts away. He's useless.
  25. UseTheSledgehammerUh

    The 2002 Survivor Series

I think they cared. They popped for the high-flying stuff, the near falls, false-finishes and finish. They cared more than Regal/Storm Vs. Hurricane/Goldust. j/k
