Are Spanky & London wrestling tonight?

Rico, I thought they did away with the Devil's Advocate gimmick when they made him Piper's lackey? Then they fired Piper and O'Haire went straight to dark matches. A-Train's a much better worker than O'Haire, BTW. But I wouldn't care to watch either on a regular basis.

I'm glad Matt Morgan hit his powerbomb correctly for once on that little girl on Smackdown. His Christian-ripoff theme, booo, though. Hansen Vs. Vader II...they still both suck. Lesnar Vs. Benoit ? :) I'm getting a weird NWA-vibe from Holly Vs. Lesnar...maybe its the bleach-blonde in jeans attacking the top heel, I dunno. Could be fun, one time. What happened to Heyman's hair?

What the hell is Sean O'Haire's gimmick? Is he a burnout? A guy that's been in college for like 8 years and is just that "weird guy" you see at parties? Does he sing in a rock band? Wow, he sucks.

    Trivia

I'm thinking that Awesome defeated someone else in his WCW PPV debut...in the U.S. Title tourney. He wrestled twice, losing to Scott Steiner in the semi's, right? Wasn't his first opponent Ernest Miller? That Ambulance Match with Kanyon occured at Slamboree, headlined by that new guy they pushed, who's work reminded fans of the "good ol' days" of the 80's NWA, World Champion David Arquette. Stupid Russo era.

    Trivia

Trivia: 1)Larry Zbyszko was finally "dumped" by the Dangerous Alliance, shortly after losing 2 straight falls to which wrestler on WCW Saturday Night in May, 1992? 2)Who did Mike Awesome defeat in his first WCW Pay-Per-View match? 3)Who was Buzzkill's partner in the January 2000 "Lethal Lottery" tournament for the WCW World Tag Team Titles? 4)Who won the lone Road Warriors Vs. Steiner Brothers match on Nitro upon both teams return to WCW in '95? 5)On what WCW program did Dean Malenko win his first WCW Cruiserweight Title? 6)NWA-TNA star AJ Styles teamed with what wrestler in the 2001 WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Title tournament? 7)True or False: WCW Writers had brain cells when having The Yeti dress as a 7-foot MUMMY, attacking the WORLD CHAMPION Hulk Hogan at Halloween Havoc '95? 8)Who did Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk lose the NWA U.S. Tag Team Titles to? 9)The American Males, Bagwell & Riggs had quite the short stint at WCW World Tag Champs. Who was their lone successful title defense against? (Hint: WCW Saturday Night jobbers from the mean streets...) Finally... 10) What famous baseball player made a guest appearence at the Sept. '92 Clash of the Champions ceremonies, celebrating TBS and Pro Wrestling's 20-year anniversary?

    Trivia

I reember that shitty match. Wright got "injured" at was on the outside being counted out, and Jericho intentionally had the ref stop the match because "he didn't want to win that way". Great job WCW...debut a great new star and have him look unable to defeat Alex Wright, who was jobbing to everyone and their mother at the time, and was still a face. Of course they'd then have Benoit/Y2J at the next PPV, which rocked. Then Jericho feuded with Nick Patrick, which was awful. Then: HEEL TURN~!

    Dumbest...WWE/WWF DVD...Ever

Yes, the first PPV DVDs produced by WWE were WM 15 and SummerSlam 1999. There was also an Austin DVD "Hell Yeah". In 2000, Royal Rumble 2000, WM 2000, KOTR 2000, Survivor Series 2000 were the PPVs produced. They started doing "every PPV" in 2001, starting with Royal Rumble 2001. The Feb PPV, No Way Out, was not put on DVD. But every PPV from WM 17 on was done.

    Dumbest...WWE/WWF DVD...Ever

WrestleMania 15 is the worst WWE DVD. I got to go to the event, though, so I still watch the DVD with some attachment to the show...but it is BRUTAL.

    The old WWF title

Well, technically, Undertaker wore the Smokin' Skull Belt, after defeating Austin at Over the Edge '99 and wearin' it to the backstage area... Technically. Dreamer and Bradshaw's title belts were the same, just with different accessories on them. I thought this was kinda neat...gave the low-carders something to do. Koloff presented and smashed Luger with the new "U.S. flag design", gold U.S. title at WrestleWar 1991, following Luger's pretty good title defense against Dan Spivey. The new U.S. title was dropped by Luger after winning the WCW crappy world title (read: Flair's got the real one...). Sting won the title at a one-night house show tourney, over TV champ Steve Austin in the finals.

    Ric Flair DVD

On a more serious note: Flair and Hogan are obviously regarded as the NWA/WCW & WWF icons. Hogan has his Iron Shiek. In retrospect, is Race (his first heel win) Flair's Shiek to you? Awesome promos, too.

    Ric Flair DVD

I've shown (and watched) the RR92 match twice completely now...and with one who had and one who hadn't seen it before. They loved it. A really cool piece on "A Day in the Life of the Horsemen". Tully and Arn talk about trainin for 4 hours, flying to an arena, wrestling, flying to Vegas, partying....4 hours sleep...4 hours of Vegas...repeat. And how they'd hit up Chi-Town and drink all night for free out of the limo. Kayfabed or not, Tully's commentary kicked ass. "Here comes the Barbarian! He doesn't like Flair!" "He doesn't like anybody...when I managed him, he barely liked me. Why do you think he's called The Barbarian? He's not a hair-dresser on the weekend."

    Ric Flair DVD

I picked up the Flair DVD for $26.99 today at FYE. What's this "$5 rebate" you guys are talking about? Someone help me. Anyway, WOW...watched the RR 92 part...everything is here! Heenan is GOLD in the Prime Time Wrestling spots, making fun of production...introducing Flair...the Funeral Parlor...Piper's Chairshot to Vince~! They even take the distortion of the World Title. Flair's explanation of leaving WCW is great, this chapter is just...WHOOO!!!!! The RR match is gold, just as I remembered. I always respected Flair, but Hulk cheating and having (at the time, my fav) Sid eliminated made me "hate" Flair even more. Great stuff. On to Disc 2... One more thing though...the "Special Surprise" after the HHH/Flair match is INCREDIBLE. Flair in tears and all the boys celebrating with beers...just cool. Question: Where were RVD and Kane during this celebration? Even Stevie and Jamal are there. WHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Dames, my Final Nitro (Flair goes off on the WWF, challenges Sting) works fine. Sorry, bro.

Hate to say I told you so...

Went to BAZOOKA'S bar in Bridgewater, NJ...nice crowd there...lotsa people in Undertaker (?!?) shirts, and a mostly college crowd. Team Angle Vs. Team Lesnar Loud cheers for Cena's freestyles...Angle gets biggest response. atch was good, but the ridiculous quick eliminations hurt. Holly got laughed at. As did Train and Bradshaw. Crowd popped for Angle Slam and Anklelock. Didnt care that Angle was eliminated. Lesnar got NO response or cares from the crowd. Of course, Cena's F-U on Big Show they went nuts for. Good stuff, Cena and Benoit put over big time...and hopefully Angle/Lesnar is done with for a long time. Lita Vs. Molly Holly Decent match considering Lita. The crowd was actually kinda into it, as was I, surprisingly. Right person went over. Kane Vs. Shane McMahon I had no expectations...but this was booked almost flawlessly until the anticlimatic ending. Nice bumps, Shane outsmarting Kane...and Kane brutalizing Shane...exactly what shoulda happened. Still, anticlimatic for 4+ months of buildup. right guy went over. Orton RKO's Mark Cuban. Was really fun, nice reaction from crowd. Fuck you hates...Orton keeps getting better and better. You'll realize it sooner or later. Los Guerreros Vs. The Bashams. TOTALLY digged the Demolition 2003 look for Doug & Danny Basham, they are gaining more and more credibility. Good, fast paced match...a little short. Ending was a little iffy, but the right tea went over. THE RIGHT PEOPLE GOING OVER? OMG..."Survivor Series is gonna suck yo, HHH blowz, who'll get blamed for the buyrate, WAH WAH Orton sucks!" Yeah, you people can take the foot out of your mouth anytime now! This show was better than any of your goddamn NWA-TNA shows, with the exception of the Super X Tourney, I'll give you that. Team Austin Vs. Team Bischoff. I thought the lack of entrances was a nice touch. These teams weren't "loners" paired up...they were UNITS. This match was awesome on so many levels. One, Booker T gets taken out early. Two, that useless piece of shit, Mark Henry, was used properly, and got a great response from the bar I was at...a big dumb slug that overpowers and actually LOOKED LIKE HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING~! Anyway, RVD and Jericho were both on and the bar crowd appreciated it. HBK stole the show, with an actual interesting "superhuman comeback". I think everyone (and a lot of you) thought HBK was pinning Orton after the Stunner, and on RAW they'd "have a rematch due to Austin's interference"...and were ready to bitch online. Enter Batista, again, solidified properly, and AGAIN, THE RIGHT TEAM GOES OVER. Orton didn't look super, but he looked good during the bout. Buried Alive Alright...short, so no complaining. Served it's purpose, to put over Kane even more, make Vince be the luck asshole, and get Taker off TV for a bit. Crowd was kinda dull. World Title Match I left halfway through, not b/c of the match, but to get home. Goldberg did some shady selling of the ankle, I saw. Too much power stuff. Decent for what I saw, crowd hated BG, some chanted for HHH. Anyway, a really entertaining show, for me anyway. Hope you all liked it. Only complaint, there was a little TOO MUCH jammed into this show...obviously Noble/Tajiri got cut...some matches should've had mmore time. Flame, HHHate, Cry about whatever, or maybe be happy for once, away...

Hate to say I told you so...

tpww, I saw your little attempt to blend my sentences together and make my comments seem contradictory... Pretty intelligent to me. About Kane/Taker...I dunno...unless its a one time deal...maybe have Taker return and cost Kane a match with Goldberg ...but end it at WM, please. With Kane going over, though? See, it's a no-win. They've done too much with Kane to put him in a feud with Taker again. One-last-time wouldn't be too bad, though. Everyone's failed to mention the Brock/Goldberg confrontation tonight. The bar really dug that, although BG made Brock look like a complete, speechless pussy. At least the RAW title gained some notoriety for a change, though.

Michrome, what is RoH doing...1-2 shows a month now? If you took all the GOOD MATCHES/ANGLES from a month's worth of Smackdown/Velocity/Raw, and a few house shows, plus the GOOD from the PPVs....WWE blows RoH away at every level. There's no comparison, so don't act like the talent is so much better in RoH. Sure, WWE is toned down during the week...maybe it's cause they work 4 times a week. Maybe it's because they have a true TV deal. Maybe they have to travel all over the world, wrestling 4 times a week....and not just once a month doing "super high spot moonsaults" from a cage or "60-minute four-ways" that PROVE that a wrestler who does one show makes the company "so much better" wrestling wise than WWE. Don't bitch about "indy guys wrestling lots of shows a week" either...this was you saying that show-wise, RoH is better than WWE. The WWE puts a lot better out.

tpww7, I love how you try to make my intelligent arguments look like they contradict themselves by taking bits and pieces from different arguments and combining them. The argument about Cena was how he was made to look like a star. The heat added to solidifying his night. His work in the match was decent, as well. Crowd heat does impact a match, by making it SEEM better...it doesn't necessarily MAKE it better. As for Kane/Shane, and you saying I said "story counts for a match"....yes, I did. Buildup can add, but it doesn't subtract. BUILDUP FOR A MATCH and the STORY OF THE MATCH are two different things. Stop acting like I think they're the same. But then again, with your indies, the BUILDUP and STORY are usually in the same night/angle...so I can see your perspective. Shane/Kane had shitty buildup. So I thought it'd suck. It wasn't super...but I think the STORY IN THE MATCH was good. So I liked it. Kane looked good. A vulnerable guy that absorbs a shirtload of punishment and laughs it off.

Perhaps I'm harsh...I suppose he's "Dusty" credible for what the promotion is, an independent. That is NOT a negative comment, btw. The independent part, anyway. Could we get back to the thread...thanks...it was a tremendous show, save for some dull moments in the final 2 bouts.

It's not like Kane and Shane locked up and then Shane used his brute strength to overpower him. Did you people even watch the damn show? AT ALL? Shane lunged and Kane went over the roped, SICKLY dropping right on top of his head. Shane then cracked him 3 times with TV monitors, broke down his legs with cane-shots... It made sense. Kane was beaten down to the best of Shane's abilities. He then proceeded to shrug it off and destroy Shane, repeatedly throwing/darting him into/slaming his head into the ambulance. And easily throwing him into the ambulance...then just laughing at the whole match. He then buried The Undertaker, dominating him after blowing him out of the truck. But I guess that's only a "mild" push. And stop bitching about "the buildup" sucking. My argument has been about tonight's show...learn to read. Cena, gave a freestyle which cemented his face turn, and then survived Team Hoss, including the WWE Champion. He worked hard, got tremendous heat, and F-U'd The Big Show. Not bad for a first night as a face.

By the way, I didn't say Samoa Joe wasn't any good "just because he's fat". I just laughed at the notion of he being champion of a promotion that should be pushing the most credible-looking of all champions to suvive. He's eons better than 'kishi...whoever said that.

"RoH knows how to use talent"... Ah, watchin' SS... Kane was established as a monster, backed into, put through a glass plate, Van-Terminatored from the top of an ambulance, etc...and just LAUGHED at the end of the match after destroying Kane. Plus he was put over during the Buried Alive match. Kane's no Benoit...but he's decent. Speaking of Benoit, uh, he survived and made the WWE Champion tap out. Cena had a breakthrough performance tonight. The hosses were disposed of by the talent, by submissions and wrestling (Angle, Benoit, Cena). Michaels, still one of the most polished workers in the WWE, told a compelling story, making the very-talented Jericho and somewhat-talented Christian look good by nearly MAIMING him. Molly Holly, the best women's wrestler in the company, defeated the untalented, more over wrestler. HORRIBLE MISUSE OF TALENT! If only Corino was there to cut his head and get punched for 20 minutes...that'd get ****.

Dude, there was a whole thread on predictions, plus WEEKS of stuff in the RAW Threads bitching about how "Team Bischoff...Do They Have ANY Chance?", plus a thread actually CALLED "Team Bischoff...Do They Have ANY Chance?" Add a great match and drama and I like. I'm just waiting for the "MARK HENRY IS HOLDING BOOKER T DOWN!" "HE DIDN'T MAKE BOOKER LOOK CREDIBLE!" threads any minute now.
