    SmackDown Spoilers

This show has been really bad, a trend Smackdown! has followed since the Kane acquisition, save for that one show w/ Regal/Kendrick and three other good matches. What is Maryse's gimmick exactly... It gets worse with evil Tatanka.

WON News + Notes, January 8th Issue

If you're expanding to that large of a timeframe, aren't your forgetting about Flair, Austin, Dibiase, Windham, Vader, Steamboat and about two dozen other guys? Maybe if you said 95-05 I'd maybe buy it, but those four certainly aren't the best of the Wrestlemania era. One of the problems with giving your opinion on who you think is the BEST is that everyone who reads suddenly thinks you hate on INSERT X HERE because he's not on the list. Barry Windham was AWESOME until early '93, and had matches that were *****, but is not better than Angle, Bret, Michaels, or Benoit. Ted DiBiase was an amazing bumper, character, but nowhere near those four. Well below Windham. Steve Austin was such a hybrid of everyone. He started out as a heel Windham, bumped like a machine, great promos, great charisma. But in his biggest matches with the big 4, I felt the opponents outshined him. Austin's right there, though, but he's also produced a lot of STINKER big-level matches, while the other 4 have always produced something decent to great when on the main stage. I.E. Angle carrying UNDERTAKER to a great match in '06. God, Austin had an energized Taker in 98 AND 2002 and had the most boring matches ever with him. Among other common opponents. Such as Jericho. Austin couldn't carry Jericho, their matches were awful. Angle took RVD to an awesome main event match in 2006. Austin couldn't do the same when RVD was at his 2001 peak. Ric Flair has wrestled the same match, chop, flair flip, flair flop, figure four, eye poke since 1994. He's been a cartoon of himself for over a decade. The other 4 have had a much more diverse set of opponents and had more classic matches. Who are these 2 dozen other guys? Vader is nowhere near these guys. Great worker but always needed an energetic opponent to have great matches. It's just my opinion. Everyone has different ones. But given your candidates, I would rank them: 1 - Michaels 2 - Angle 3 - Bret 4 - Benoit 5 - Austin 6 - Windham 7 - Steamboat 8 - Vader 9 - DiBiase 10 - Flair

Britney Spears is looking familiar nowadays...

That pic is mad old. She's hooking up with Leinart now and getting better. Although that HUGE scar and nasty vagina is probably the same. You know who she resembles? That headshot of that girl doing porn from that signature that had the "YEAH-UH!" guy (blonde preppy Mentos looking kid). Could someone please post that collage, it's my favorite thing ever from this board.

    Marvel's Civil War

Issue 6 is getting some fairly big criticism from the 'net for Iron Man basically putting over teaming with the villains "How can you stand up to the World's Greatest Heroes AND the World's Greatest Villains!" as well as for treating Panther & Storm like minor characters who all of a sudden wanna brawl, which was ridiculous. Civil War needed to be a 4 issue series, BTW. Speaking of Kingpin... Read the new Amazing Spider-Man. :::tissues:::

    Scrubs

I watched Scrubs during OC's commercial breaks and found it really difficult to turn back to Fox. Scrubs was really good. I liked how Sarah Chalke's character was all "why don't *I* get focused on some more?" and the guy who thought he was House was all "be quiet, this is my episode" in more words.

Either or, it's cool to hear that the "top guys" of our lifetime all think they're the best. Way too different of styles to judge fairly between Bret, Angle, and Michaels. To me, those three, along with Chris Benoit, are the four best professional wrestlers of the 1984-2007 Modern Era.

"HBGay trying to spit in Bret Hart's face" I'd say "his workrate did that" but then we'd get a 10-pager on who's better, remember those days? So for the record I refrain from saying that. I thought he was mentioning The Rock, since he also said "I'm still WAITING to get in the ring with THAT GUY!" Why would he say that about Bret/Angle, two former WM/various PPV opponents?

I advise you to pick up the Jan. 4th Amazing Spider-Man issue if only for the ending. Also, the story FINALLY picks up in Uncanny, good stuff heading into the final 4 parts (of 12!) of the Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar storyline.

Issue 6 came out. It's really good, in a "you MUST buy the next issue" kinda way. Plus, there's a MAJOR "ha ha!" crazy moment when someone gets kicked off Cap's team.

The sad Dolphins owner asking the REPORTERS for suggestions on how to improve his team has to be the #1 quote of 2007 so far. Vince Young plays the game right and is a winner. Vick can't throw and is a loser. I don't see the problem. Plus Vick is a prick.

Let's not forget D-LO making it to the final four in 1999! With McMahon, Austin, and Bossman! And even hitting the Frogsplash on Stone Cold, doing his head bobble, and getting tossed!

Did Sid ever return from this?

Even as 9-year old mark in 1991 I could see the "SID IS GONNA BE THE NEW TOP BABYFACE, COOL!" thing being pushed by WWE. Then we get: Sid as a ref on the 2nd biggest show of the year. Sid not ON the Survivor Series and being hurt. And Sid losing at the Rumble. Then Sid being Hogan's tag partner at SNME. Then Sid being the latest guy who can't put Hulk away at Mania. Talk about a shitty run.

One last thing, they showed the ugliest de-roided picture of Masters ever during his match-up screen with Flair for NYR, classic. Props to the Miami crowd, they were red-hot for most of the show. Awesome DX promo, too.
