Spider-Man, Dean Malenko, and Son of Spidey backstage. Malenko hugging Mysterio makes the old WCW soul in me upset. Wow, great commercial for Trish there. -

These two need to wrestle every week, it's doing wonders for their overness and star power, as they don't get lumped into matches with bad workers in meaningless filler matches. i.e. Helms/Hurricane in bouts w/ La Resistance on Raw, Scotty, cruiser undercarders. All the accomplishments Hardy has that Cole listed (TLC, Tag) occurred 5 years ago. Helms does his homework and counters Matt's reputation as a ladies man by kicking him in the balls to get the pin. -

MR. Perfect in the 2002 Royal Rumble
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to slabinskia's topic in General Wrestling
I marked out when Angle threw Perfect over the top rope and Perfect held on (because's he's perfect and all) and then kicked Angle's ass, breaking out the NECK SNAP~! and the PERFECTPLEXXXXXXX until Triple ruined the fun (and the Rumble, mind you). Triple H was responsible for the two super-over guys, Perfect (via clothesline) and Rob Van Dam (via pedigree) being eliminated. -

"Non-Title Match: Gregory Helms .VS. Matt Hardy" AWESOME. Helms/Hardy rule. "Scotty 2 Hotty .VS. "The Miz"' AWESOME. Miz rules. "Triple Threat Match: Brian Kendrick (with Paul London) .VS. Kid Kash (with Jamie Noble) .VS. Idol Stevens (with KC James)." Since these three don't like each other, I don't want double-teams. Should be AWESOME. "WWE United States Title Match: Mr. Kennedy .VS. Rey Mysterio." Better semi-squash Rey. "Vito .VS. Sir William Regal" Meh. "Sylvester Terkay (with Elijah Burke) .VS Handsome Johnny." CMON TERKAY, work hard. Handsome...Johnny? "Winner gets a World Heavyweight Title Match at No Mercy: Bobby Lashley .VS. Fit Finlay." Who could win? Cool to see Lashley (apparently) elevated. -
"The wrestling connection is Gill was a big WWE fan" Reminds me... John Fiocco, Jr., a freshman college student at my school. The College of New Jersey, was killed at the school last semester, rumored to have being thrown down a garbage shoot into a dumpster, with his body found in a PA landfill weeks later. On his "Facebook/MySpace" website, John listed himself as a big wrestling fan. His profile picture was actually him doing the "Randy Orton pose" that Orton does with his arms/hands.

I agree Chavo has looked awkward for a few years on his own, as, like it or not, a second-rate Eddie-lite with poorer transitions, less crisp executions, and both attire & music that weren't as good as Eddie's. I'm not saying Chavo is great, but in his new role as scumbag w/ Eddie's wife who is crippling Rey's mind, he at least is presented as a big-time star and he seems to be working harder to wrestle like one. THING I WANT TO SEE ON SMACKDOWN! TONIGHT: - Goodness from the tag team division (L&K, Pitbulls, Indy Freebirds). - Miz do his awesome gimmick. - Tatanka cave-in someone's chest with those chops and work hard. - No Sylvan. - More Hardy/Helms interaction, and a good Helms match (Hardy got the match last week). - Lashley booked to be a MONSTER FACE. - Finley's explanation to contain various European curss-words, Irish slang, and threats to break Batista's face open again. - A new challenger for Booker. Seriously, like, send Batista off for the "Lashley Treatment", in that Finley can hopefully teach him how to wrestle and not just do a sloppy spinebuster, a big punch, and a sit-out powerbomb finish. Give Booker an opponent for No Mercy that he can have a tough match with...BUT WIN WITHOUT INTERFERENCE and get some more credibility. Benoit returns, maybe? Elevate Lashley? Is there really anyone else? At least we won't get any god awful Taker/Booker PPV builds with Booker acting chicken for 4 weeks and then winning via interference. - Michelle McCool. - As little of Vito as possible. - KENNEDDDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYYYYY deliver the Lambeu Leap to Mysterio, really stiff-like. - Regal do the Regal Wave. -

Rey is depressed and can't concentrate. Finley squashed Rey. Kennedy won a match over Finley for the U.S. title. Thus, Kennedy should destroy Rey, hitting him with two "Lambeau Leaps" and the Kenton Bomb for good measure. ____ Chavo looked good in the ring last week, as did Tatanka, who is one of Smackdown!'s best wrestlers right now (he may very well suck again, but right now, Tatanka's looked great). -
They should mark them down and sell them cheaper, thus selling more of them since from what Meltzer reported Balls won't be getting any profits for the month.

Vader's jump from WCW to the WWF
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to JN News's topic in General Wrestling
I loved how Bischoff explained Vader's firing. During the "War Games" '95 hype video, in which Vader was to have teamed with Hogan, Sting, & Savage against The Dungeon of Doom, they showed a still frame graphic of Vader, which over top of it in gigantic letters said: "A.W.O.L." And then, later on when Luger was brought into the team during a promo, Hogan's all "So that Vader dude has gone A.W.O.L.!" -

Cena, Trish retake leads. -
Perhaps if "Extreme Rules" didn't just mean "use chairshot and pre-cut table" every week you wouldn't think the same. Where's the RVD top-rope somersault into the crowd? Where's three-person pile-on pin while the crowd goes nuts? Hell, the CHEESE GRATER? The STOP sign? The chokeslam/press/etc. through multiple stacked tables. Flying off some type of backboard/balcony/stage? "Oh, Sabu has a chair. Chairshot. Chair. Oh no Big Show falls through the table." What you're getting bored of is the same "extreme" spots. Not the actual rules.

Actually, Shadowcat had metal claws in the "Age of Apocalypse" run. I really like her, BTW. The teenage version moreso than the current "tough girl" adult version, moreso. Let's get back to JLA Talk now, sorry.

If you thought the announcers on the WWE Playstation were bad... :::every 5 seconds::: "OH MY GOD DON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE HITS THE BIG CLOTHESLINE!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE CRAZIEST THING WE'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!! NO AJ, DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!"

God no. Or The Black Panther. Or that guy that is a panther in "Kingdom Come" that I think is from the Justice Society?

Vixen joins X-Force's Feral, New Mutants/X-Factor's Wolfsbane, the Mutant Liberation Front's Thornn, Alpha Flight's Wildheart/Wildchild, Catwoman, Ka-Zar's sabretooth tiger Zabu, and some others I'm probably forgetting as "Stupid Cat-Like Characters That I Hate". The only "cat" character I've ever liked was in the movie Ghoulies. The creepy-"meows" from the cat-Ghoulie were great and he was my favorite one.

I was impressed with Rowand when he made great plays and hit over .300 to start the season before getting injured. However, when the ridiculous "Roward: Philadelphia Hero" crap started circulating after he made the catch, including WIP calling it "One of the Greatest Catches in Baseball History" and by far "The Greatest Play in Phillies History", it bothered me for two reasons: 1) Neither is true. and 2) The fans would suddenly "riot" if Rowand was dealt, released, or traded when and if he slumped or they needed to trade him to free up room for someone else. We'd be stuck with him because of that catch. Glad to see Victorino contintuing to hit and outshine him. I plan on attending one of every home series left that I can get to. And the playoffs, obviously, which would just be amazing. These $4 off "College Days" are sweet, 1 each series! Team Canada's Joey Devine in to pitch for the Braves in the 9th.
-
I completely agree with everything you said. Rowand has also been noticeably not the same player since the Facecrusher Catch against the Mets.
-
Victorino has been very good tonight, running around like crazy in the outfield. Phils might actually sweep the double-header. Braves & crowd have been dead.
