I wonder how many brand splits could you have. Essentially, I would find it cool to have like 4 seperate brands and run them all regionally (like old school NWA). You could have Northeast (and ON/PQ), MidWest (and MB/SK), South, and West (and AB/BC). Then you could have like a National champion who could tour around to all the territorys and such. It would be fun to see how you could do going up against a National/Global type promotion if you are all regional.

Kevin Smith and The Green Hornet
Brush with Greatness replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
No, no. Unbreakable he doesn't really have that goofyness/quirkyness. It's sort of that Blind Date/Die Hard/Pulp Fiction type quirkyness and sense of humour that I think would translate well. I guess in a way John McCaine is a superhero. -
Kevin Smith and The Green Hornet

George Clooney was already fucking Batman once. Personally I think Bruce Willis would make a cool Green Hornet. Dunno why. I just think Willis could pull off a comic book type superhero. -
Alfonso Soriano is really 28, not 26
Brush with Greatness replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Sports
Maybe he changed it 14 years ago so he could play in the Little League World Series. Anyone have the records for that? Wouldn't be the first 14 year old playing in the LLWS. -

Is that what getting payed 20 million dollars a year to play sports is? Making a living? An athlete couldn't make a couple hundred thousand a year and earn a living. The problem is, the so called going rate for these players is set by the Yankees to begin with. The teams (or team) in this case establish the market value. Its why a guy can go to abitration and say look "the Yankees pay so-and-so 15 million a year and he hit .275 with 15 homers and 60 rbis, therefore my value is 15 million because I had equal numbes." So yeah, you can say no other teams can pay the going rate, but that is because the Yankees drive up that growing rate.

I'm assuming you can't skate and most likely have never tried to.

Alright, I need some sort of Mac Emulator to play some old shareware game. I've used Executor, but the demo has expired and I've struggled getting around it. Any good emulators out there? Preferably one where I don't have to capture a ROM or whatever (like VMac) cause I don't have a fuckin clue how to do that. Thanks for the help.

43 is Belfort v. Eastman correct? If so, then getting to see the cut over Eastman's eye is worth the price of the DVD.

You guys forgot about a foul for "reaching in"?

Where'd you get those (not that I don't believe, I just want to know the site)?

Comcast trying to buy Disney
Brush with Greatness replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
Is this such big news that you had to start a new topic for it? I mean, the old one is only about 5 topics down. -
Cherry was right To sum it up, a lawyer did some research and found that: 59% of European Players wear visors 55% of French Canadian Players wear visors 20% of North American (minus Quebec) players wear visors. Not that there was any doubt to begin with.

Alright, just for the record, who all here thought the original Oiler-Flyer Mike Comrie trade was a great move by Clarke? And I think alot of you did so don't be shy. Also, in no way would I call Osgood a "solid number one goalie". And talking about goaltending controversy, Philly could already have one on their hands if Antero Niittymaki can keep his play up. How can you tell a kid, who is 3-0, with 3 goals against and a 96.1 save percentage that he is being sent down? Not to mention him outplaying Martin Brodeur in a 35 save performance to earn a victory over Philly's biggest divisional rival.

But seriously, you couldn't say the same thing about wrestling? -
Does anyone have numbers for Canada? It will be interesting to see how the American fairy tale does in Canada. Frankly, I think it would do well just because of our flat out love for anything hockey. And I can't see the Barbershop or Barbershop 2 or whatever doing nearly as well up here.

Pride 27 Card ANNOUNCED
Brush with Greatness replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in General Wrestling
So what happened to Perry? I figure, if you have to replace Quadros, than Perry was a nice fit. Whose this new guy? Has he taken over for Pride full time? -
The Big Bounce was a BIG bomb. Not even cracking the top 12 in its second week. BTW, how did City of God do with its (small) re-release? I've gotta check it out yet.

Another problem is that it seems like Lewis was awaiting the winner of the Johnson-Vitali fight to see if he was going to retire. I'm fairly certain that if it would have been Kirk, Lennox would have taken the money and laid a beating. However, Vitali dominated and Lennox retires.

They got another new announcer? Is this the guy that debuted at the middleweight Grand Prix opening round? Or is it someone else? -
Degrassi The Next Generation
Brush with Greatness replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Was there a new one on this past week or was it a repeat? I want to know if Manny is really preggy and what her and Craig are gonna do. -
Acttually, they had former Conn Smythe winner Billy Ranford do the on ice scenes for Jim Craig.
-
Exactly. But even Holyfield had the balls to step up and give the deserving man a rematch. Now it's Lewis' turn to do the deed. As for the cut, cutting a guy is meaningless in regards to control of fight. It is the same as getting a fluke punch that KO's a guy. So if we are going to say that McCall's win was lucky then Lewis' was without a doubt lucky. Take a look at the Couture-Belfort fight. Couture lost after Belfort cut him with a punch. But apart from technically speaking, no one can say that Belfort "won" that fight.

Because I'm bored, here are the playoff records of goalies. East 1 PHILADELPHIA Esche 0-0 2 TORONTO - Belfour 82-61, 17 series, 3 finals, 1 cup 3 TAMPA BAY - Khabibulin 15-18, 1 series 4 BOSTON - Raycroft None 5 NEW JERSEY - Brodeur 83-56, 18 series, 4 finals, 3 cups 6 OTTAWA - Lalime 18-16, 3 series 7 MONTREAL - Theodore 7-8, 1 series 8 NY ISLANDERS 9 BUFFALO - Biron None 10 NY RANGERS 11 ATLANTA - Nurminen None 12 FLORIDA - Luongo None 13 CAROLINA - Weekes 3-2 14 WASHINGTON - Kolzig 20-24, 3 series 15 PITTSBURGH West 1 COLORADO - Aebischer 0-0 2 DETROIT - Hasek 53-39, 10 series, 2 finals, 1 cup Joseph 58-62, 10 series 3 SAN JOSE - Nabokov 8-8, 1 series 4 VANCOUVER - Cloutier 9-12, 1 series, Hedberg 9-9, 2 series 5 DALLAS - Turco 6-6, 1 series 6 ST LOUIS - Osgood 44-33, 8 series 7 CALGARY 8 NASHVILLE - Vokoun None 9 LOS ANGELES - Cechmanek 9-14, 1 series 10 MINNESOTA 11 EDMONTON 12 PHOENIX 13 ANAHEIM Giguere 15-6, 3 series 14 COLUMBUS - Denis 15 CHICAGO I'll finish this up later, gotta go.

Emery will be a better goalie than Prusek which is why he is getting the playing time in the A. And there is no way they should trade away Lalime for another goalie. Why? Because there is no one proven that is better. When you take a look at it only three teams actually have established playoff goalies. New Jersey - Brodeur - 3 cups, 80 wins, nuff said (18 series won) Toronto - Belfour - 1 cup, 3 final appearances, 80 wins (17 series won) Detroit - Hasek - 53-39 (10 series won) and if you want to you could possible count - Joseph - a poor 58-62 (10 series won however) and I'm not going to count Osgood because frankly I don't feel he's there. So unless the Sens make a trade of Lalime for Hasek, then I don't think they are getting a goalie for goalie deal that will give them a more proven guy. Trading Lalime for a depth player? That would be a big risk and one that could blow up in your face if you are management and its the goaltending that ends up faltering in the playoffs. But just say they did, who would they deal to? You're likely not going to go in conference (especially to either the two teams in the playoff race that would want a good goalie - Philly and Boston). The only playoff team in the West that I could see wanting him would be Colorado but they won't want to part with too much. Phoenix for Doan? No chance with Boucher, Burke and Bierk there. Most non-playoff teams actually still have decent goaltending and wouldn't want to part with someone too talented for Lalime. The one potential team could be the Hurricanes if they give up on Weekes.
