    Clarrett sues NFL

So why again do we hate this guy? Because he wants to work in the NFL and he is over the age of 18? If he's good enough to play then let him play. It's no different than Lebron James or any other NBA players skipping college to go straight to the NBA to make a living. That three years in college rule is stupid.

    If Nintendo re-released the NES

Just out of curiousity, if Nintendo was to re-releae the Nintendo Entertainment System along with games, how many people would purchase them? As long as Nintendo made the system's top-loading (like the final rare versions of the NES they released) there shouldn't be a problem with blue screens and your old games would work fine. Even release game packs to save on cost or something. Sure, emulation is great. However, computer emulation lacks good multiplayer (as in a group of guys sitting around a house playing on a TV). Nester DC was excellent but I'd much rather be playing with an NES Max than a DC pad. Your thoughts? (on pricing, purchasing or anything else)

    Help with a Simpson's quote

Homer said something along to Marge along the lines of "how could the one thing in my life that i've ever been sure about be wrong" it was reflecting on thier relationship and i think it was a flashback episode but I'm not sure. I don't think it was "The way we was" however.

    Team of the future

Yeah, I got what you were saying with Edmonton, but I thought it was unfair to compare Florida with them in this case.

    Team of the future

I'm no Florida fan but to argue with their potential right now would be idiotic. At no point in time have they had this strength. It's generally regarded that goalies take six years to develop and skaters five (which is why the waiver rules are set as they are). Going by that logic it was guys like Jokinen, Luongo and Huselius that should have really started to hit their stride the past few years. Hmmm. The team of the future label didn't start getting thrown around until the summer of '01 when Stephen Weiss and Lucas Krajicek were drafted and Kristian Huselius really drove his stock up with his play in Europe. Since then, being the past two years, 14 of the 21 players I have mentioned have been acquired. Anyone who was calling them a team of the future before was being foolish and premature. In conclusion, according to team of the future logic, they still have a good three years to go by everyone else's label and five years to go by my accord. Edmonton on the other hand has been a team of the future for about the past 7 years. They are now past the expiration date. That isn't to say they don't have great potential but that until the CBA changes, they will never reach that potential.

    Team of the future

Without a doubt the Florida Panthers. I still think guys like Denis Shvidki will come into their own as well giving this team scary potential. Atlanta also has a good nucleus with Kovalchuk, Heatley, Lehtonen and Braydon Coburn. They really need to build some strength around that. Edmonton, possibly, depending on how the new CBA works out. However, Edmonton has been a team of the future for about the past 7-8 years. Looking at Florida: G Roberto Luongo (4th - 97) Jani Hurme (58th - 97) Simon Lajeunesse (48th - 99) D Mathieu Biron (21st - 98) Jay Bouwmeester (3rd - 02) Lukas Krajicek (24th - 01) Kristian Kudroc (28th - 99) Andrea Lilja (54th - 00) Branislav Mezei (10th - 99) Filip Novak (64th - 00) Kyle Rossiter (30th - 98) Mike Van Ryn (26th - 98) F Nathan Horton (3rd - 03) Olli Jokinen (3rd - 97) Vaclav Nedorost (14th - 00) Petr Taticek (9th - 02) Stephen Weiss (4th - 01) Jaroslav Bednar (51st - 01) Kristian Huselius (47th - 97) Denis Shvidki (12th - 99) Anthony Stewart (25th - 03) They have 7 top 10 picks from the last 7 drafts. On top of that, they have 7 other first rounders from those drafts and 7 second rounders from those drafts. That's 14 first rounders over the past 7 drafts. As well, they have guys like Viktor Kozlov (6th - 93) Valeri Bure (33rd - 92), Matt Cullen (35th - 96), Juraj Kolnik, etc that will fill out the roster nicely. It's now all about players living up to their potential.

    Help with a Simpson's quote

Okay, it was from "The Way We Was". It was were Homer ran out of the prom crying and Marge consoled him outside, yet she was still there with Artie. He said something about them being destined to be together or something. However, I still can't find the exact quote. Anyone owning that episode want to help me out? (Season 2)

Dark is home and white is away?

The Canucks are actually using the hockey stick inside a rink logo as a shoulder patch on their regular jerseys.

Dark is home and white is away?

Hell, didn't they do this anyways during the 75th anniversary year. I can't remember if it was every team every game or if it was sometimes. Maybe just when the original six teams played each other they would wear dark homes and white aways. And they also had the cool original six retro jerseys that year.

Dark is home and white is away?

They have one in NHL 2003. It's white with a red stripe. I tihnk they made it up. Actually the jersey you are referencing is one with reverse colors from the road jersey. It's a large blue stripe in the middle. Basically, it is the same as the road jersey, with just the red and white reversed. This is an actual jersey that they wore in the mid 1940's. As for the home/away thing, this is old news. No matter what spin they put on it, it has to do with merchandising. Almost all road jerseys (and third jerseys) are better looking then plain white ones and therefore have more merchandise appeal. It is hoped, that wearing these jerseys at home will give them added exposure to the hometown fans (they don't have TV's?) and create more sales.

    Capturing the Friedman's

I sincerely doubt that anyone else has seen this movie. Anyways, it's a documentary. The story is about a Long Island family in the 80's. The less you know about the movie going in, the more interesting and surprising I think it would be. I will tell you more about the movie (but no actual spoilers) in the spoiler text. Highly recommended Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The family is an all-American family with the dad being a teacher. However, it's discovered the dad is into child porn. From there, the dad and the youngest son (18 at the time) are charged with rape and sodomy while the dad was teaching computer classes in the basement of thier home. The story pretty muchs depicts the downfall of this dysfunctional family as an amazing amount of it is captured on videotape. The oldest son (not involved in the crimes) had just gotten a video camera and was taping virtually everything at the time. Some of the scenes that are recorded are amazing to see.

    Johnny Depp Dislikes U.S.

So just out of curiosity, how many of you Depp haters also hate Johnny Cash? Cash spoke out openly against Vietnam and the government's decision to fight that war. Mind you, he did support the troops there. Depp's beef was also with the U.S. government. So I hope all you Depp haters aren't praising Johnny Cash now after his death, because that would make you a hypocrite. And we all know that there are no hypocrites in America.

    Bush approval sinks to 52%

America has one of the poorest political systems in the world. Albeit, they are not the only one's who run a country that way. Democracy itself is a great system, however, the way that it is played out in America is, for lack of a better word, retarded. If you look at any sort of major operations (corporations, military or what have you), the operations are most successive when the people in power work together. This isn't to say the people in power should agree on everything, it's just that they should work together when they don't. With America, the system is just the opposite, with the people in power constantly fighting rather than working together. What the fuck is the point of having individuals always vote along party lines? What America really needs to do is scrap Republicans and Democrats. Have all political candidates run on their own forum rather than one laid out for them. That would be a true democracy and a real step towards smartening the country up.

    If Nintendo re-released the NES

I contend, that to this day, RBI Baseball is the single greatest two player baseball game ever. Sure Baseball Stars and Little League were great, and Dusty Diamonds was always fun but RBI was the king. I loved the BoSox in that game. The funny thing is that I'm almost better with Bruce Hurst than Roger Clemens. I have a tendency to pitch for a lot of K's with Clemens, forcing me to go to the Sox brutal bullpen (assuming you can only use one starter). However, with Hurst I can usually going the distance, just throwing those tight inside pitches that force the hitter to swing and handcuff him. I'm an RBI junkie.

Anyone have any info on the following?

I don't really follow any video game websites/magazines. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the following: A Pride sequel (loved the first one - however, I want Mirko and Fedor) NHL 2k4 (or ESPN if you will) NHL 2004 all for the PS2 A sequel to Animal Crossing. I don't have a Cube, but I'm damn tempted to pick one up if there is an Animal Crossing sequel. I'm almost tempted to get one for the first one. I did the same thing with the 64. Waited til it was ultra cheap (think I paid 50 bucks) then I picked up No Mercy, Revenge, Wrestlemania, Goldeneye, Perfert Dark and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Speaking of which, I heard there was going to be a Conker game for the Cube as well.

    Confessions of A Dangerous Mind

One of my favourite movies that I've seen in 2003. Some people bitch about him (Chuck Barris) making the whole story up (I won't give anything away). If he did, so fucking what. Either way it makes for an entertaining story. Hell, if nothing else, watch if for the strawberry dick scene

Whoa, nothing good coming up soon? (in regards to Pirates around until December) Motherfuckin Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Matchstick Men could also be promising and I wouldn't mind seeing Cold Creek Manor. If it's half as good as The Others I'd be happy. So with the upcoming week featuring: Once Upon A Time in Mexico Cold Creek Manor Matchstick Men Cabin Fever What are everyone's predictions?

Matt reminds of the cousin on Step by Step, Cody. That whole "Aw shucks" nice guy dufus act. Everyone remember Step by Step with Patrick Duffy and retro babe of the week Suzanne Somers?
