Ironic you say that. She's also a huge fan of Cuba, and has stated on more than one occasion that she would have rather gone to school there.....except, of course, Cuba isn't exactly known for its great law schools. The stories I could tell you about this broad.

Indeed. I prefer Quiznos these days anyway. BTW, at my school there's a woman who's a member of PETA and quite passionate about the organization. She's also a rabidly pro-Palestine, self-admitted socialist who, just the other day, remarked to one of my fellow classmates that she was going to attend an event about North Korea, designed to dispell some of the "lies" we Americans have been telling about their government. Her exact quote: "They're all Stalinist Communist there, how bad could they be?" I've still got the wounds on my tongue from where I had to bite it to keep my damn fool mouth from opening and saying something I would have regretted later..... .....on second thought, I wouldn't have regretted it later. But still....

You know, I'd like to just dismiss this as "politics as usual", but during these days, where we've had so many intelligence fuck-ups, do we really need the fucking Senate Intelligence Committee using their power / resources to form a political strategy to target the party in power?

Interesting. I want to see how many French personalities / politicians are named, though. I have to agree there. The man just looks like a cadaver.

New poll finds voters, polticians split

I thought we had decided - REPEATEDLY - in this forum that polls essentially mean nothing? -
Fuck, I just rewound my tape, and Robinson DID give the X. Goddamnit, this fucking hoss had better not have injured him.

Stevie is dead. But not as dead as the crowd was whenever 3rdReich was in the ring.

JR, you fucking senile old bastard, don't tear down the fourth fucking wall and tell us about Jericho's wife.

Ah, it's time for Richard's weekly RAW squash.

I think offseasons are a BAD idea. For us hardcore fans, we will ALWAYS watch the product, so if the WWE goes on hiatus for a couple months, most of us will come back when it does. But that's us. I'm of the absolute opinion that if it was every done the casual fans would go away and many would STAY away.

Clinton-Gore Economic Boom Continues (2003-10-31) -- The latest figures on decreased jobless claims and a huge increase in third-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) signal a continuation of the Clinton-Gore economic boom, according to an expert. "After a brief two year 'hiccup' the wisdom of Clinton-Gore still shines through," said one unnamed itinerant professor who has taught at the University of California Los Angeles, Columbia University, Fisk University and Middle Tennessee State University. "Any time economic indicators are this good, you can take it as an article of faith that it's the legacy of the two best men ever elected President -- Bill Clinton and Al Gore." _____________________________________ The sad thing is that I know people who would accept this as truth.

Eventually, yes, the law of averages holds that they WILL get it right. I just think it's dangerous to assume that this will be that time.

Let's not let this degenerate into a Spiderman vs. Hulk debate. Both movies have their merits. I was quite fond of Hulk - I enjoyed it in the theaters, and I plan to buy the DVD soon. The movie was poorly marketed and I think, in some ways, Ang Lee gave us a film that (in the minds of many) was not what we thought it would be. But I think he did a good job of making the movie a look into the life of Banner rather than simply a full-out HULK SMASH action flick. Spider-Man doesn't suck. It's good for what it was intended to be - a superhero action flick. Hulk concentrated more on the characters and the story, so in some regards, it's the "better" film, but both movies are enjoyable and entertaining.

Not horror related, but I saw Whale Rider today. And.....yeah, I cried like a bitch a couple times during it.

There's someone for everybody, kkk. Hell, somehow the very frog-like Larry King has even been married something like 8 times.

It's like an SAT word analogy. Ronald Reagan is to Bill Clinton as Bill Clinton is to Ronald Reagan. Both accomplished some significant things in their tenure as president. And their enemies in the opposite political party will do everything in their power to paint them in a negative light and destroy / minimalize their legacy.

It wasn't about distributing a copy. It was about making a copy. Or at least that's what I got out of it. No, you had to make a copy AND show it to someone. It's the only way to lift the curse - to share it with someone else. It's why Aidan, at the end, asks Rachel "what about the person we show it to?" As for Watts.....she had already lifted the curse from herself by showing the video to Noah, long before she truly understood what the curse was or what she was really doing to copying it and showing it to another. What she did at the end of the film was to save the life of her son. It would be one thing for her to just accept death and let the curse die with her - but at that point she was no longer in danger, her son was. Should she sacrifice her son to protect someone else? It's an ethical dilemma, but she did what I think most would do and chose the life of her son over that of another. Of course, the moral dilemma at the end of Ringu was even more involved.

I watched the American version again tonight, and I must say......after viewing it a second time, I really, really, REALLY prefer the original Japanese version, Ringu. It's not that "The Ring" is a bad film, and in some ways it's slightly superior to "Ringu" - but only in small technical ways. Overall, I think the film lacks what Ringu had. In several ways, such as: 1. Background of Samara - there's a more insightful look at Sadako and her powers in Ringu, as well as more info on the mother. 2. The tension in the film - in Ringu it's palatable at times, especially at the end of the seventh day when Reiko and Ryiuji are attempting to unearth Sadako before nightfall. The ending involving Samara in the American version, even, pales in comparison to Sadako facing Ryiuji in Ringu. 3. The imagery is better in Ringu. Scenes such as Ryiuji's image showing Reiko the key to the mystery - the copy - were disturbing. Such a scene was lacking in the American version and other instances of imagery seemed to lose the same force they had in the Japanese version. 4. I really liked the moral ambiguity of the ending in Ringu, rather than "The Ring" 's question of "What happens to the person we show it to?" Those are just a few examples. Again.....while I don't think the American version is a BAD film.....it falls short of the original, which, for some reason, disappoints me more than it probably should.

I saw this - what a fucking show! The lawyer was pulling some serious Matrix moves to doge those bullets.

Dean Says He's Not Metrosexual, but Metropopulist (2003-10-29) -- Presidential candidate Howard Dean today renounced his previous confession of metrosexuality, and officially declared himself a 'metropopulist' -- a hot new buzzphrase for politicians who are "in touch with their average American side". "I'm a wealthy former medical internist who also served as governor," said Mr. Dean, "So, I'm the ultimate power-elite insider. But that don't mean I can't relate to 'Joe and Jennifer Sixpack' -- you know, the average working stiffs." While a metrosexual is a "dandyish narcissist" in love with himself and his lifestyle, a metropopulist becomes enamored with his own campaign-generated media image as a kind of noble savage. "Sometimes I look in the mirror," said Mr. Dean, "and I roll up my sleeves and flex my neck muscles until the veins stand out, and I say to myself, 'Howie, you are one righteous prole! You're just like the little people who send you money through the Internet.' O yeah! I know what you want from government.'"

Who the hell is Morgan? Was Morgan one of the Tough Enough kids from season 2 that had to leave due to a knee injury?
