"TNA...FREE ADVICE FOR TNA FROM SOMEONE WHO IS IN THEIR DESIRED DEMOGRAPHIC AND HAS SEEN THE RISE AND FALL OF ECW Every wrestling reporter has opinion of how a wrestling company should be run. So why is my advice any different or better. My argument would be that I am a 33 year old male who would watch a good wrestling alternative to WWE and I have juggled my marketing career with a career as a pro wrestling performer/associate television producer/direct marketer and I saw exactly what led to the rise and fall of ECW. Now that I have presented my credentials for all to judge, here is some free advice for TNA (which I would be happy to elaborate on privately if they asked me to) because I genuinely want them to succeed: 1.) Find another WWE or WCW Champion to win and lose the NWA Title Jeff Jarrett is a credible champion if for no other reason than he held the WCW title. TNA needs another former WCW or WWE Champion (Sting, Nash, DDP, Scott Steiner, Goldberg, Austin, etc.) to sign a contract agreeing to beat Jarrett and then within six months, convincingly drop the title to a TNA made champion (Monty Brown, Raven, etc.). Pure wrestling fans can scream bloody murder for A.J. Styles to get the belt again but it is a bad marketing move and never should have happened the first time. A.J. Styles is barely 5' 7" tall and barely weighs 180lbs. He is truly phenomenal as a performer but unless he uses the same "special supplements" that Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrero used to bulk up to a rock solid 220 lbs., he is not a heavyweight and thus, should not be champion of the heavyweights. His holding of the NWA Heavyweight Title made TNA look minor league when compared to WWE's World Champions, even JBL. Good or bad, WWE sets the standard for what major league wrestlers look like and muscles sell more tickets and merchandise than work rate. It is a sad truth of the industry and it will never change etc. 2.) Have somebody under 35 years old who is from New York or Los Angeles book with Dutch Mantell and Jeff Jarrett and I don't me either because I am not "cool" enough for the job. Southern wrestling deserves to be relegated to WWE nostalgia footage in today's American pro wrestling industry. TNA needs to be young, cool, fast, loud and edgy or it comes off as a poor copy of WWE. The exact opposite of cutting edge is a WWE-inspired half-assed racial stereotype. Years ago, I told Simon Diamond he needed a more serious character like "Fighting Irish" Pat Kenney. A wholesome, educated, morally sound "good guy" who could still be hardcore. Instead, a few southerners come up with an Irish character that included jig dancing, leprechauns, Lucky Charms cereal, Irish Spring soap and lots of miscellaneous green stuff. How do you think those same southerners would feel about a WWE redneck wrestler with no teeth and no shoes having sex with his own sister and pigs? The most successful wrestling characters are the wrestlers' real life personas exaggerated. Even Joey Styles was just Joe Bonsignore exaggerated. I'll readily admit to not being cool but blushing at every sexual reference and claiming to watch CSPAN but not MTV was done to make me a more entertaining television character. Making me a "goombah" would not have have worked because while I am an Italian-American, I am third generation born in this country and the character would have been forced and transparent. 3.) Drop the dead weight! You know who they are. Friends or not, there are some people drawing a check from TNA who are not bringing revenue back into the company coffers. That is bad business. With only one hour of weekly TV and one monthly pay-per-view, quality of talent is much more important than quantity of talent. In short, TNA is run by smart and savvy people who are very capable of building TNA into a profitable company and it my sincerest hope that they do so. Joey Styles"

From LordsofPain: Smackdown Spoilers Hello, I am Wevv Mang and I was in attendance for tonight’s Smackdown taping. Here are the quick results. - Decent Crowd. Not packed, but very full. Not a lot of empty seats. Started off with the "Lonely Road" video. New footage added. Trish and Jericho among others. Velocity Carlito Caribbean Cool (who got good heat) vs Shannon Moore --Good match. Carlito uses a side slam type finisher for the win. Sorry, bad with move names. Kind of like a reversed Side Russian Leg Sweep, only he picks the guy up. - Bill DeMott and Josh Mathews enter. Long intro to Bill’s music. Nunzio (w/ Johnny) vs Akio - Really good match. Rico and Charlie Haas (w/ Jackie) vs The Bashams -Big return for Rico, who had a lot of crowd support. Rico gets the pin after a moonsualt. Rene Dupree (w/ Kenzo and Hiroko) vs Hardcore Holly --Rene really riled up the crowd early in the match. Big Heat for the guy -Side note: noticed that Hiroko is now wearing the French and Japanese flags in her hair, and worked the two into her fan. (hey, it’s Hardcore Holly, not that exciting) Johnny The Bull vs Tony Cilantro (?) -Jobber squash match Smackdown Big Eddy Chant after Michael Cole and Tazz enter. -Vince tells us it’s going to be a special night. Kidman vs Paul London --Kidman leaves the ring right after the bell to a lot of boos. Count out victory for Paul London. Booker T enters. Impromptu match. London Wins. -Big Cena chant for Booker Foley favorite moment Kidman and Teddy talk -Great promo from Spike and Rey. Kenzo tells Rey to speak in English after he gets all Latino. Really good segment Rey vs Spike (w/ Dudley’s) - Good match. Kenzo and Rene come out. They help Spike keep his belt. Steph favorite moment. Watch the show for this. T-Shirt guy bombard audience (like 15 T-shirts given out). I don’t get one. Bastard. -Moments ago, no commentary Recap of prison love scene with Heidenriech and Mikey Cole. Touching. In a creepy way. Nice edit job, but you still feel the love. Johnny goes to see Vince The Ministry (Gangrel and Viscera) vs Taker -JBL watches from the roof of his limo. Viscera sucks. Pretty quick squash match. Taker wins adn then taunts Bradshaw. Vince talks with Johnny. Watch the show for this. Johnny says he and Vince are a lot alike. Johnny reads more touching poetry. Crowd chants Eddy Plug Next Top Model Stone Cold shows up on the screen.Big crowd pop. Schoolgirl match. Dawn Marie vs Torrie Wilson. They look great. -Teddy comes out and flubs his line, but still manages to announce that Old School will be part of the match. Moolah and Mae enter. Booing ensues. Moolah and Mae win. Dead silence. -Thank God for hot chicks. -Torrie tries to get the fans to cheer. Dead silence. Eddy chant again Stone Cold moment. Big pop. Cut short. Booing ensues. Superstar Billy Graham makes an appearance. Carlito Promo John Cena steals the Rock and Stone Cold’s catchphrases from the top of a truck. Not in the arena. No Mercy Card Rundown -Eddy vs Luther Reins Kurt Angle cuts a great promo. Hearty "What?" chant Hogan favorite moment. Big pop Eddy and Big Show vs Angle and Luther -Still no mic time for the big man. -Ending was mark Jindrak running out to interfere. Angle gets a tranq gun (I kid you not) and shoots Big Show. Then they shave part of his head. -I leave after Show makes it up the ramp, and Eddy gets up. -That's all I needed to see.

Does he go anal on Vince?

Well, it's kind of cool that London gets a PPV match, I hope he and Kidman do really well in it. EDIT: Maybe we should post the full spoilers under a new topic now that we have them?

Show fears horse tranquilizers.

Who are their money marks? Maybe they think they have a better chance to make money off loaded shows than normal ones?

Cool stuff. Beef jumping in on the Steen promo was funny. Too bad IWS doesn't release any DVDs, with all the attention they're getting in America now they could make a lot of money.

You can find most of that information by going to www.obsessedwithwrestling.com and then clicking on profiles.

In case anyone cares, all four TPI week shows are out on www.smartmarkvideo.com.

So if they want to do HHH vs. Orton at Wrestlemania, why push the fans towards having that as the main event at the next PPV? -

That's one helluva good idea you got there. I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but I was actually being serious about it. He could have her get on a treadmill and hold a bag of cocaine just out of her reach. -

Kane will still hit it regardless. Anyone ever seen that Will Ferrell bad doctor skit? Kane should just use Chris Parnell's line from that one. "Let's go start making another one!" -
