Of all the Japanese promotions -- NOAH, AJ, NJ, ZERO-ONE, DDT, etc...which are the major feds? Which are the smaller ones? Which are the "WWE's" of Japan and which are the TNA's, ROH's, etc? Which do the best business? Which are struggling? Thanks!

Statement: If TNA signed Nate Webb and let him do his full "Teenage Dirtbag" entrance at each show, he'd get over huge as a cult favorite among TNA fans. Statement: TNA will make it to Victory Road 2005.

Thanks, great summary. So all the other ones, HUSTLE, Toryumon, DDT, Zero-One, they're more comparable to the indy feds of the U.S? Who is New Japan trying out as their top draws right now? Who are the major champions in all these promotions?

It'd be cool if someone could post it.
-
You have to remember that at the time it was all about SHADES OF GRAY~! I agree though, if the feud had played out fully as planned, it would have been interesting to see crowd reactions.
-
According to the Torch, a Jarrett/Hardy rematch is planned for Victory Road.
-
Well that's exciting.

So did they announce anything for Victory Road? I know it's two months off, but still...

TNA PPV REPORT SEPTEMBER 8, 2004 LIVE FROM NASHVILLE, TENN. The final TNA Wednesday night PPV is here. For commentaries previewing this show, check out The Lounge area (see left menu bar for the link) as there were several articles this week looking at the end of this weekly TNA tradition after about 26 months. I can't say this feels like the final Nitro, but it does feel like the end of something. -After four minutes of angle recaps, they went to a different camera angle to open the show than usual as Mike Tenay introduced the show. Then they went to Jeremy Borash in the ring for intros for the opener. 1 -- JOHNNY DEVINE & PETEY WILLIAMS vs. SHARK BOY & D-RAY 3000 vs. DELIRIOUS & SONJAY DUTT vs. MICHAEL SHANE & FRANKIE KAZARIAN vs. MIKEY BATTS & JERELLE CLARK vs. AMAZING RED & CHRIS SABIN The first round of this tag team elimination match is scheduled to be fought battle royal style until only two wrestlers are left. In the opening seconds, Sabin was almost eliminated, but instead he head scissored Williams out of the ring. If one wrestler from a team was eliminated, it didn't mean the entire team was eliminated as is typical for tag team battle royals. Delirious was elimintaed next at 1:30. D-Ray was eliminated when he leaped over the top rope to the ring apron, then got knocked to the floor. Kazarian eliminated Sabin at 2:30. Shane eliminated Batts at 3:00. Kazarian and Shane eliminated Shark Boy at 4:00. Shane was eliminated at 4:45. Red was eliminated at 5:30. Kazarian and Devine eliminated Dutt, then Kazarian eliminated Devine. That meant the final two were Kazarian and Batts. WINNERS: Kazarian and Batts at 7:30. STAR RATING: * -- Okay action, but basically just one elimination after another without any strategy or storyline to sink your teeth into. It felt rushed. 2 -- MIKEY BATTS & JERELLE CLARK vs. FRANKIE KAZARIAN & MICHAEL SHANE Tenay said that because James Storm hadn't been cleared to wrestle yet by doctors, The Naturals would face Christopher Daniels & Primetime for the NWA Tag Team Titles. Clark missed his 630 splash, but then Batts schoolboyed Shane from behind for a quick three count win. WINNERS: Batts & Clark at 4:36. STAR RATING: * -Scott Hudson interviewed Christopher Daniels & Primetime backstage. Hudson reiterrated that Storm wasn't cleared to wrestle. Primetime said tonight would be their night and their opponents would need more than their A-game. Daniels said "Triple X has always been two men with like minds." Actually, Triple X was originally three men. The Naturals then attacked Daniels and Primetime with powder and chairs. Tenay said the Naturals went "way too far this time." Good promo. I think that was the longest promo Daniels has done in TNA not counting the vignettes about the "Fallen Angel" gimmick which never went anywhere.

What the hell was the point of bringing him in then?
-
Do the winners of that match get a tag title shot or is it a "just for the hell of it" thing?
-
Not watching...who's in the match?
-
That's the weirdest shit ever.
-
Bad Breed, baby! Ian and Axl Rotten!
-
Awesome! I hope they get a chance to show their stuff, whoever it ends up being.
-
This made me laugh for some reason. But yeah, give Eddy a friggin' break, it's not like he can't wait a month or two for his HUGE upcoming feud with Luther Reigns...
-
...not to mention the launchings of "Joey" (i.e. the "Friends" spinoff) and the new season of "The Apprentice". Smackdown will almost certainly do worse in ratings than two weeks ago. And the week after that, Survivor starts.
-
That's a really cool story. It's really sad to hear how bad Tenta's doing now though, and I'm sure the decline is going to be fast, too.
-
Great one...I laughed so hard when I heard this one the first time. I also love Vince's fake laughs when he was an announcer and one of the other guys woule make a joke.
-
Do you still love this match today? Do you think it's just a shitty Foley stuntfest? It's been more than six years since this match...how do you look back on it today?
-
The dumb thing is what did Kenzo/Dupree do to earn a title shot? Nothing. Why wouldn't the FBI get the shot after winning a non title match against the tag champs last week? It's little stuff like this that makes fans not care about matches, because it makes no difference who wins them. There needs to be an emphasis put on winning and more realistic title shots.

For some reason I thought Big Show would become Torrie's best friend, and comb her hair, and they would get their nails done together Now if they were REALLY thinking they'd have Torrie flip out that Long hired Big Show back (which would make sense if you're her) and bring in some people to take the Big Show out, turning her into a heel bitchy manager. Another angle that just writes itself!
-
Come on now, you've obviously put way too much thought into this for just a couple of jobbers like Kidman and London. *WWE writer mode off*
-
At least Big Show's return was fine. After hearing Teddy Long say Big Show went to anger management classes last week I thought we were going to see a whole bunch of lame comedy skits about Big Show being too nice when he got back.
