What was the last "great" feud

    Jericho/Rock HHH/Foley HHH/Austin
  2. I'm confident that Eddie can carry Bradshaw to a match that's better than Lesnar/Holly at the Rumble. One thing I really hate about the Bradshaw push is that he's getting a world title shot WITHOUT WINNING ONE SINGLE MATCH! He hasn't wrestled since getting pinned by Rikishi!

    Backlash notes from Meltzer

I just saw an ad for Backlash on ESPN...interesting that they had Goldberg and Austin in it.

    Backlash notes from Meltzer

Hey, if Foley is going he can carry anybody - he had a good match with Van Hammer, for crying out loud. But I know what you're saying. I'm really not looking forward to Orton vs. Foley because it's going to be like the old Rock/Foley matches...just Foley taking a bunch of bumps.

    Wrestlemania XX DVD prices

I pre ordered WMXX on FYE.com today (after seeing a post on PWInsider) for 16.99 plus tax and shipping. It came to about $21 - not too bad, IMO. Other prices I've seen on the net: Best Buy has it for $24.99 with free shipping. Circuit City has it for $19.99 High Spots has it for $24.99 Suncoast, Media Play and Sam Goody all have it for $34.95 Amazon has it for $24.46 The WWE has it for $34.95 And you might want to check your local Walmart. I bought the Royal Rumble and No Way Out DVDs for $15 there - not that bad a price either.

    The Tony Schiavone thread

Tony was always funny when trying to give "attitude" to the heels. Like the first quote I posted in this thread: "We talked so much about it. What if Savage wins the title? What if Hogan wins the title? Whats gonna happen? Who's going to have the power in the NWO? But I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't give a darn!"

    OK, explain this to me

Reading that over again...when was the last time creative thought of anything for Misterio to do anyways? It's not like his feud with Chavo leading into No Way Out was creative brilliance or anything. And I can't even think of anything before that. The WWE seldom comes up with any cruiserweight feuds/storylines/etc.

    Mordecai... offender of religion..

I wouldn't be too worried until he starts crucifying people or something like that. I really don't see how last night's vignette would be seen as really offensive unless you were REALLY religious and taking things a bit too seriously. He's a BAD GUY, afterall.

    OK, explain this to me

Why is it that when the writers can't come up with any ideas for somebody, it's with a guy who has a ton of talent?
  10. I'm sure threads like this have been on here many times before, but screw it. I'm interested in seeing the diversity as far as when everyone started regularly watching wrestling and what hooked them, if anything, and made them continue to watch.

Details on the new WWE show

From PWInsider: "THE WWE EXPERIENCEPremieres Sunday, May 2 (10:00-11:00 AM, ET/PT). Regularly telecasts Sundays (10:00-11:00 AM, ET/PT). Spike TV presents THE WWE EXPERIENCE, a new and electrifying WWE show. Hosted by the provocative and sultry, WWE Diva Ivory along with WWE's star on the rise, Todd Grisham, this new original morning combines the best of MONDAY NIGHT RAW and WWE SMACKDOWN in one action packed and exciting hour. THE WWE EXPERIENCE will also include plays of the week combined with today's latest music and weekly WWE Superstar segments. -It certainly sounds similar to the old recap shows that used to air on the USA Network." Ooh...Bottom Line meets whatever Smackdown's recap show is called (I can't remember). Let the excitement begin!

Did you like either of these matches?

    WWF July-August 1999

I remember hearing that originally, Steve Austin was supposed to feud with Jeff Jarrett (hence the stunner he gives him at Fully Loaded), but obviously Austin didn't want to work with him because he "didn't run the ropes hard enough". My question is was the original plan for Summerslam Austin vs. Jarrett? Or maybe a four corners with Austin, Jarrett, HHH, and Mankind? It seems like they really wanted to get the title on HHH then...or were they really going to give it to Jarrett? What was the original plan? Also, was the Edge/Gangrel feud ever blown off? And what lead to Edge getting an IC title shot against Jarrett at Fully Loaded?

Seriously? I don't remember that one.

Ahmed Johnson also beat Trips in '96. EDIT: Damn you, Anglesault.

    Vital Question

When was this? Right before Fully Loaded 98. Rock interfered and D'Lo won the European title.

    Looking for Wrestlemania 7

How is the Colliseum version different from the Legacy version?

    So, uhm, Kurt's dead.

Big Show will be haunted by Kurt's ghost, a la Hogan/Warrior from WCW.
  19. JoeDirt

    WWE.com goes kayfabe!

As long as it doesn't lead to a match, I don't really care.

    So, uhm, Kurt's dead.

Big Show will be suspended "indefinitely" so he can get ankle surgery. I doubt they'll focus much on the "legal" aspect of things. Kurt will be back in a few weeks or a month...and hopefully they don't go for the old "Kurt Angle has gone CRAZY!" storyline. In the meantime, Vince will take over for a few weeks. My prediction is that he has a match with Taker at JD. But I guess we'll find out...who knows what the hell Stephanie and co. have planned.

The One And Only Smackdown Thread 04/15/04

You guys are on a roll tonight. My prediction is that Vince takes over for Kurt for a few weeks - and this brings back Taker, who wants revenge for Survivor Series. That sets up Vince vs. Taker at JD, so they can do Booker vs. RVD instead of Booker vs. Taker.

Well, they filmed that the best they could without having to do a huge bump by somebody.

The One And Only Smackdown Thread 04/15/04

Nope and in his 15 year Career...has only suffered ONE injury...that took him out for 6 weeks. RVD should take 3 months off when his contract is up, and then come back with vignettes hyping his return, etc. It works for everyone else, why should he be punished just because he's never hurt?

Kinda figured they'd go with the DQ finish in this one. And now the EVIL SPINAROONIE~!
