I love Cena, but he almost played to the crowd too much there, instead of just ripping Heyman to shreds. Don't tell me he's gone soft now that he's a face!

So HHH AND Lesnar lose their titles between now and Wrestlemania? And Meltzer is wrong when he says that Benoit is being brought to RAW to take on HHH in some title matches? I don't know...

Why did the WWF never go back to the Silverdome for a Wrestlemania after the success of WM3? Would they have not have done enough business without a match as big as Andre vs. Hogan? I would think they could have for the huge Hogan/Savage match at WM5. What led to WM9 being at such a small venue, not to mention an outdoors one, like Caesar's Palace? Was the card held during the afternoon? Thanks!

You know, I'd call you a huge nerd, but I'd probably do the same thing to.

Was Jon Dalton from Survivor the "big news" instead of WGN?
-
Man, that Diamond/Swinger and Gilberti/Young feud is gonna bring in the PPV buys.
-
Watts has a masked man? Wow, where have I been.

So far AMW d. Redshirts and Shane won the X-division match...anything else?
-
Sucks that Shane won, but damn that's pretty sweet with another X Cup.

Thanks for recapping tonight, even if it's painful.

Thanks for the answers ahead of time. You guys rock. 1) Who was Techno Team 2000? 2) When Savio Vega replaced an "injured" Razor Ramon at KOTR 95, was this just an angle, or was Hall actually banged up? He ended up taking some bumps in the show anyways. 3) Any reason why Hakushi never got a bigger push? 4) This question doesn't specifically refer to 1995, but when the WWF would do long TV tapings that would include dark matches plus 4 weeks of shows, often adding up to 25-30 matches, how long would these shows run, and would the fans actually cheer the whole time, or did the WWF have to dub noise in? 5) Razor Ramon beat Jeff Jarrett in a house show ladder match in May, and lost the title back 2 days later - any reason for this, or just to try and show that anything could happen at the house shows? 6) Why did Jeff Jarrett leave the WWF right after the July IYH, return in December, and then leave again after that? 7) Chris Benoit worked dark matches for the WWF in 1995 and didn't get a job, yet they had friggin' Mantaur on the roster??? 8) Was Luger leaving the WWF after Summerslam 95 a surprise, and was it a reason behind the big push Bulldog got afterwards? 9) What did Ahmed Johnson do before coming to the WWF? 10) What happened to Barry Horowitz after his Summerslam 95 win? 11) Why was Vince pissed at Nash after the 10/95 IYH PPV? 12) What was the "RAW Bowl" match, and was it any good?

Any reason in particular that Studd was picked to win it?

I must be one of the few who didn't like the 2003 Royal Rumble at all. Lesnar comes in at 29 and wins it. Taker at 30. The last four in the ring are Brock, Taker, Kane, and Batista, and before that it was A-Train. It was a fast paced start, but I really was disappointed in it in the end. Going back to the poster who liked the 96 Rumble, it also has historical significance, with the debuts of Vader and Austin, obviously. Not too bad.

Yeah, I believe you're right.

1) Where did HBK wrestle before signing with the WWF to be in the Rockers? 2) Given Vince's reluctance to push non-big-men, how did HBK get an IC title push and even a world title match against Bret Hart at Survivor Series in late 1992? 3) How close was HBK to leaving the WWF in 1993? 4) I read somewhere that the original plan in 1995 was to have a Diesel/HBK rematch at the first IYH after Wrestlemania, but then that was changed because Sid injured HBK with a messed up powerbomb. But the booking that night really seemed focused on setting up a Diesel/Sid match (with Diesel running out to save HBK), so was that ever the plan at all? 5) When did HBK start using the superkick as a finisher? When was it dubbed as Sweet Chin Music? Thanks!

It also has one of the coolest "looks" of any WWF PPV ever, IMO.

ummm.......Sid eliminated Hogan. It makes perfect sense. Like I said though, Hogan was the top # 1 babyface in the company. Young kids are supposed to look at the guy as a basically a role model. Hogan gets eliminated CLEANLY by Sid. Rather than just walk off and "fight another day", Hogan decides to basically go against that and help heel Flair win. Even Gorilla Monsoon makes a case about it on commentary. Unless it was foreshadowing a heel turn, it made no sense. Nah, Hogan's just a baby. The 94 Rumble, except for the Diesel segment and the notable ending, was really boring and pretty worthless. The 98 Rumble it was obvious Austin was winning, but the end with the Rock was fairly hot. The 93 Rumble is pretty blah except for Backlund's run in the ring and of course Giant Gonzalez.

Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. God that was awful.

I don't mind Henry's finisher. It seems realisitic, even if it's boring. But at least it seems realistic, unlike the Acid Drop/Dudley Dog or some dumb move like that which requires help from the victim to pull it off.
-
I didn't like the 96 finish because it all happened so quickly, there wasn't any time for drama. They could have had Diesel and Shawn go at it for 2-3 minutes before the ending, IMO. I love the ending to the 95 Rumble. Sure, the one minute intervals sucked, but the ending was pretty cool, especially with it ending with the guys who started numbers 1 and 2.

I think it would have been fine for a month at the very most. Then HBK gets it, then Austin gets it at WM. I guess, though, without the Bret screwjob, we might not have ever gotten the Austin/Macmahon feud.

The only Mean Gene moment that matters is Summerslam 1989. Tony: Let's send it backstage to Mean Gene Okerlund, who's standing by with Bobby Heenan and Rick Rude! Gene: Thanks Tony, I'm here- [The entire backdrop falls down.] Gene: Aw, fuck it!

1) Where did Rodney Anoia / Yokozuna wrestle? He obviously got a huge push in the WWF immediately because of his size, but did he wrestle much before they signed him? 2) Was there any particular reason Scott Hall didn't receive a push in WCW in his first stint? Did they just not see anything in him, and then Vince decided to push him to the moon? 3) Where did Owen Hart wrestle from 1989 (when he wrestled at WM5 as the Blue Blazer) to 1992 (when he wrestled at WM 8 against Skinner). Was he an active WWF competitor? 4) Why did Sid leave the WWF in late 95/96 and in 1997? 5) Who was in the Truth Commission? Thanks!

How long did they last in the WWF? I'm watching Survivor Series 97 and JR is REALLY working to get them over, especially Kurrgan (Interrogator).
