Nothing. The article, however, is just more shit paving the way for when Rob opens another indy promotion again, because he'll say that he can get guys jobs with the WWE, so they should work for him. If you don't read this as a "three cheers for Rob" article, I think you're missing something.
-
This whole article is meant to be a "Rob Feinstein has stroke in the business and is GREAT!" type thing. Yay for the pedophile.

This tournament is shaping up to be must see.

Shawn Daivari has received a threatening note from someone via his personal message board. The message was submitted to the Raw superstar last week, with the person identifying themselves as only “Sand N-gger Hater” The following is part of the full message which was posted: “Hey, Davari (sic) you and Hassan are going to be sorry you sand n-gger piles of sh–. After what I saw on TV last weeekend, I have made a decision that if you and Hassan come anywhere within 300 miles of where I am you stupid assclowns who s— off f–ing camels and wants seconds, I will be more then (sic) glad to empty three full clips from my 9MM glock into your punk ass. If you and Hassan don’t like the USA then do us Americans all a f–ing favor and leave the USA muthaf—er before someone sends you home to the Middle East in a f—ing casket you stupid son of a f—ing bitch. How dare you talk sh– about the American soldier you stupid f–… So please come within 300 miles so I can buy front row ringside tix for me and my 15 friends and then when you and Hassan come to the ring talking sh–, security won’t be able to stop us and we are going to take your candy asses out for good and so what if we go to jail.” The person who submitted the message said he has a cousin who is stationed in Afganistan as part of the Special Forces Unit. Daivari responded with the following: “You have to wait till we get within 300 miles of you before you hop the rail and kick our asses?! Any real American patriot would be willing to drive at least 302 miles.” In an earlier post, Daivari wrote: “I don’t feel like I’m playing a character mostly cause I’m not. Not one scenario played out on TV yet has been 100 percent fabricated. Sh– like that happens to me semi-often, especially worse now that I’ve made my case public.” Credit: PWTorch newsletter

PWInsider.com is reporting that Vince Russo is working on two projects right now: (This is from the elite section, not on the main page as far as I know) The first would be like Ted Dibiase's PWA, which would mix wrestling with religious themes. Few details are available yet, but they report that Sinister Minister would play a Satan heel gimmick in this promotion. This is interesting because Jim Mitchell (Minister) is a devout atheist so it would be weird for him to be involved with a religious wrestling promotion. Russo has been in contact with many people from WWE and TNA, apparently, so we will hear more soon. Russo was also in California (he appeared at the SCCW independent show this weekend) with Wade Keller of the PWTorch.com pitching a TV show idea to someone from FOX or USA. The show would apparently be wrestling related and they don't know if it would be a show or a wrestling promotion, but think it might be a new promotion that they are trying to get on TV. Also involved in this meeting was Ian Rotten and JR Benson. I have no idea what's going on here, but it's stuff to keep an eye on...

Downloaded this a while back, and since he was on Smackdown this week why not post it here? I hope the download works for you guys, and you'd better get it fast before it goes and I have to repost. http://s13.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3M51ACO...JY1XS5WWKNDNKHB

I enjoyed it. They obviously had to develop the "characters" of the main players in the show so the audience has other stuff to follow. But I thought it was decent, and I'm kind of interested to see how it goes the rest of the season, though I wish they'd stay away from more of the stupid Real World-ish stuff as time goes on.
-
Probably, but I never got the Hogan DVD so I don't know for sure.

He's a regular in FIP, a Florida fed that Gabe Sapolsky of ROH books. I believe he does NWA-Florida too, though I could be wrong. He also has been in CZW recently, and did one or two JAPW shows.

1/16/2005 6:02:00 PM WWE does house show title change, Michaels heavily booed, Flair goes off and fans booing opponent on strange show in Winnipeg by Mike McIntyre A few noteworthy things at today's show. First, they did an actual title switch. La resistance won the tag belts from regal, who was forced to have coach as his partner but never did tag him in. Also, jericho went over hussan before his hot hometown crowd (is that hussans first loss?) in a "royal rumble qualifying match". Also, the much advertised and hyped michaels vs flair singles match never happened. Instead, it was michaels and orton vs flair and batista. Neither michaels nor flair looked hurt, both worked a lot, not sure why the change. Before match, michaels got booed a bit, then lots of "u screwed bret" chants, which prompted flair to grab mic and shoot on the crowd, saying shawn is "greatest performer I've ever been in ring with" and that wpgers and canadians just can't give it up, and they better, cuz "wwe will stop coming here". He was legit mad. But whatta dumb thing to say. Also called bret " a rick flair wannabee, never will be", and so on. Btw, michaels pinned flair for his teams win. Anyways, other results: Benoit b edge (easily best match, edge is really strong) Shelton b maven Kane b snitsky in hardcore match Christian and tomko b hurricane and rosey Victoria b molly CREDIT: Wrestlingobserver.com

Yeah, he was. He'd have to totally change his style in the WWE, unless he played a power type guy in the CW division.

Got this email response from Meltzer on the whole Luger/Wrestlemania 10 stuff: "The whole story of Luger getting drunk is a myth. The actual story is that the day before the show, several WWE wrestlers were at Morton's Steak house and talked about how Bret was going to lose to Owen, but win later, and that one of hte NY papers the next day in the gossip section reported it. WWE didn't change its plans even though it was in the paper. Somehow that story got changed to Luger said he was winning, it made the papers, and WWE changed plans. I was told I'm thinking 3-5 weeks in advance that Luger wasn't winning because of the reaction at the Rumble. I was never told Bret was winning, but it was pretty clear that was the idea."

Did Goldberg ever lose any house show matches before they started "the streak" with him?

King of the Ring 1995. One of the worst PPVs in wrestling history, if not THE worst. Your goal is to completely rebook the PPV. This means that you must also book the tournament matches that weren't on television. The tournament was 16-man, so you must book 8 qualifying matches, and then the entire PPV. Book the results of the matches, the time, and even add a star rating if you'd like. Rebook the non tournament matches as well, and tell us about any feud you have going into the show. (For example, you want Diesel vs. Bret Hart for the WWF title; explain your booking and how you would build to the match, etc) Here is how the original card went down: King of the Ring 1995 June 25, 1995 in Philadelphia, PA The Spectrum drawing 16,590 ($311,680) Shown live on PPV (0.65) 1. Savio Vega pinned Irwin R. Schyster (4:01). (Free 4 All qualifying match to take the injured Razor Ramon's spot) 2. Savio Vega beat Yokozuna (8:24) via countout. 3. The Roadie pinned Bob Holly (7:30). 4. Shawn Michaels drew Kama (15:00). 5. Mabel pinned The Undertaker (10:44). 6. Savio Vega pinned The Roadie (6:36). 7. Bret Hart beat Jerry Lawler (9:20) via submission in a "kiss my foot" match. 8. Mabel pinned Savio Vega (8:32) to win the King of the Ring Tournament. 9. Diesel & Bam Bam Bigelow beat Tatanka & Psycho Sid (17:35) when Diesel pinned Tatanka. --I'll add in mine soon. If you have any questions about who was on the roster at the time, check out www.thehistoryofwwe.com for help.

That is disgustingly bad. At least you had the battle of Too Much/Too Cool in the opener.

I remember at Royal Rumble 1994, Gorilla Monsoon and JR were doing radio coverage...what was up with that?
-
No, not really. He said that he thinks the WWE might put the title on Cena at Wrestlemania if Rock doesn't do the match, or right afterwards if Rock does do the match. Other than that, not much was said.
-
Meltzer says he still thinks Angle/Taker will happen, but not for the belt. He said tonight he still hasn't heard anything to make him believe they'll do Angle vs. HBK.
-
On WOL, Meltzer said they should have had MNM debut (Joey Matthews, Johnny Nitro, Melina) and win the tag titles to get them off to a hot start. Oh well.

1/16 RAW BRAND RESULT FROM WINNIPEG: TAG TITLES CHANGE ON HOUSE SHOW by Jordan Nepon @ 6:17:00 PM on 1/16/2005 Here are results from the Winnipeg show. I think I've got everything. Christy Hemme came out to welcome us, and said how much she loved being in Winnipeg. Which is a blatant lie unless you love freezing weather and love tons of snow. Simon Dean came out, called her fat, offered her his Simon powder which she threw back in his face. 1) Christian and Tomko beat Hurricane and Rosey. Rose was holding Hurricane, and Tomko hit a bit boot to get Christian on top. 2) Victoria beat Molly with the Widows Peak. Crowd wasn’t too interested. 3) Shelton Benjamin beat Maven with the Exploder. ‘Just there’, but not too bad. 4) Kane beat Snitsky in a hardcore match. Big pop for Kane. They used a trash can, trash can lids and a hockey stick. Good for what it was. 5) Chris Benoit beat Edge via Crippler Crossface. Match was 11 minutes. I was a bit underwhelmed, but it was still good. The T-shirt guy threw out some shirts, then we had a 15 minute intermission. 6) La Resistance beat William Regal and the Coach to become NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS. Coach came out and announced himself the ring announcer. La Res came out followed by Regal, alone. Coach said Regal had to defend the titles, but not in a handicap match, and Coach named himself as Eugene's replacement. Regal wrestled alone regardless, he went for a tag mid-match but changed his mind. For the end, Regal nailed Coach instead of tagging him, then La Res hit their tag finisher (sorry, forget the name) on Regal to win the belts. Post-match, Coach insulted Regal and followed up with a low blow. Regal came back with some knees then tossed Coach out of the ring. 7) Chris Jericho made Muhammed Hassan tap out to the Walls of Jericho in a Royal Rumble entrance match. Jericho was way over, as usual in his hometown. Hassan badmouthed Winnipeg before Jericho cut him off, and said he’s give Hassan a Y2J beating he’d never, evvvvver, forget. Daivari kept interfering, but finally backfired for the Jericho win. After the match, Jericho said how much he loved performing for his hometown, and said “even though it’s –40 C outside, it’s hot in here”- and the temperature with the windchill is completely legit, even colder a few days ago. 8) HBK and Randy Orton beat Ric Flair and Batista when HBK hit the Sweet Chin Music on Flair. Nice pops for Flair and Orton, and HBK wasn’t booed out of the building for what it’s worth. Good main event, similar to the usual Raw tags. We got a *really* full moon from Flair, a visual I probably won’t forget, as much as I want to. Randy teased an RKO, but we never got one. Orton and HBK shook hands with the front row after the match. It was a pretty good show, Not mind blowing but I had fun. I wish we had the scheduled HBK vs. Flair singles match, though.

Thanks to Richard Seale for the following: Well, just got back from the house show in Kitchener, Ontario and it was quite the disappointment. Most of the upper red seats were empty and the crowd was not really into the card for most of the night. There was a shuffle in the schedule, but that was probably meant to make up for the injury to RVD. Anyway, the results were: John Cena over Kurt Angle. Cena challenged Angle because Angle was upset that Cena had modified the US title. Huge pop for Cena and a "You Suck" chant for angle. While this match would normally be a must-see, too many rest holds ruined the match for me. Theodore Long came out and thanked everybody for coming. He announced the card and it was quite different from the advertised one. In a Royal Rumble qualifying match, Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak defeated Nunzio and Scotty Too Hotty. Cruisers got some action in doing the "embarrass the monster" routine, but in the end, Jindrak and Reigns won with their power. Didn't see Jindrak in the match too often. Reigns had a lot of heat with the ringside fans. Kenzo Suzuki with Hiroko defeated Charlie Haas. While there was no reaction to either athlete, Charlie Haas was very athletic and showed himself to be one of the most underrated wrestlers on Smackdown. Kenzo won after Charlie had his head snake-eyed into an exposed turnbuckle. Paul London beat Rene Dupree The best match of the night even though it was surprising to see London go over Dupree. Dupree got mild heat for being French in Ontario. Each athlete deserves a push. The most comedic moment of the night was the referee strutting. London won with his flip off the ropes. Bashams over Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Long wait for the match to get started as the Bashams argued with the crowd. When the match was finally ready to begin, Eddie and Rey grabbed the belts and walked to the back. When the match finally started, it was a basic match with Eddie getting pinned despite hitting the frogsplash. There was no referee because he was busy with Rey and the other Basham. When Eddie got Rey to leave the ring, he turned around and was greeted by a sit-down powerbomb and got pinned. After the match, Eddie got upset and walked away angry, leaving Rey upset that Eddie was mad at him. Eddie refused to shake his hand before leaving and shrugged Rey's help off. Eddie also tried a comedy routine in moving the tag rope when the referee tried to make him hold onto it. After the intermission, the hot body contest occurred between Dawn Marie and Miss Jackie. Jackie is hot. Basic stuff. They disrobed. They shook their asses. Crowd voted Jackie the winner and Dawn complained. It looked like they were going to wrestle, but they were interrupted by Heidenreich who complained that the audience hurt his feelings by cheering the divas. Heidenreich over Hardcore Holly For a guy that gave the Undertaker a run for his money, Heidenreich was put over as very weak in this match. When Holly wasn't chopping him, Heidenreich had Holly in a bearhug for most of the match. Stiff clothesline won the match for Heidenreich. There was next to no reaction from the crowd. Funaki defeated Chavo and Spike The two faces worked over Spike for a while. With Funaki out of the ring, Chavo knocked Spike out of the match. Some of the fans complained that Spike was the best man in the match. After some back and forth, Funaki won with a reversal. Big Show beats JBL by DQ JBL got huge heat for insulting Canada, calling the soldiers wimps and claiming that the Americans had to protect Canada. When the Big Show arrived, the fans went crazy wanting him to shut JBL up. Show got some offence in before JBL took out the knee. Match saw lots of interference by Orlando Jordan with fans outraged. When Show was about to finish JBL off, the Bashams ran in and got JBL disqualified. Show got mad and took out the Bashams and Orlando while JBL ran away. Again, show was disappointing with many boring matches and a card that looked very thrown together. Man, I wish that it would have been a Raw card like originally scheduled. Oh well, the next Kitchener event can only be better. Biggest Pops: Big Show (to shut JBL up) John Cena Eddie Guerrero Miss Jackie Rey Mysterio Biggest Heat: JBL (Anti-Canada rant) Kurt Angle Reigns/Jindrak Rene Dupree

Excellent reviews. I had no idea Styles wrestled Teddy in Hawaii.
