And Foley's promo on Orton where he was bleeding and got spit on was not a "typical" promo. The crowd was pretty much dead silent for it, but it told a great story and was part of a very good feud with Orton. I agree with what Rudo said above...it's all about the pop, which gives us promos that feel like promos. It's like if you watched a movie and the whole time watching you were annoyed because the actors sounded like they were ACTING, and not like it was REAL. Same deal here.

The PPV will be fine, but not worth $30. I'm sure I'll be a horrible person and download it on PWTorrents tomorrow or something if any of the matches are said to be good.
-
Hell, for me the price of the DVD is easily worth it for Joe vs. Punk and the Heenan/Cornette stuff alone. Anything else is icing on the cake.

Well, I agree and I'm glad they didn't go for another very long match. I think the issue was more that the build made people think they'd go over 60, rather than people thinking the match was bad because it went less than the 60 though. The build was that the issue hadn't be settled in 60 minutes, so they gave it no time limit...which you could be forgiven for thinking meant they were planning, say, a 90 minute plus match. It's not quite that people hoped it'd be long...more 'expected'. Or predicted. It's like when Hero and Punk wrestled earlier this year...their last match had gone 93 minutes. This time they went "only" 56 and some fans were let down. Now that's just stupid. From what I've heard, the match was great and had tons of cool little things in it that pay off the previous matches. I can't wait to see it.

There's just a HUGE part of getting guys over the WWE is missing the boat on here. Not that I'm surprised, really...but a manager starting up his own stable...that's classic stuff, and can help to get guys over who need a mouthpiece or something to get the fan's attention. Look at how Heyman has helped Heidenreich. And Daivari wouldn't even have a job with the WWE as a manager if he couldn't speak a language that sounded somewhat like Arabic. Mark Magnus (Mohammad Hassan) can't do that, so that's why they need Daivari.

True, though I remember him getting the winning pinfall at Summerslam 2000. I think Stevie would really excel in a manager position again. He can talk, bump, and gets into everything he does. But I think the WWE should use managers in other spots, as well.

Joe vs. Aries for the title has been announced for 12/26.
-
I'd really love it if ROH DVDs let you turn off commentary. The dubbed over commentary takes away the sound from the shows as it is. It's nice to be able to hear things, which is why I wish they did live commentary or something.
-
ROH's commentary isn't that bad, as Punk and Nulty have been good on color commentary recently, I think. Gabe is kind of annoying at times as play by play man, but oh well.
-
I wonder if Aries/Ki will have a rematch, or will both get a title shot, or what. I'm guessing Joe vs. Corino on 12/26 for the belt, but who knows. Live reports seem to say Joe vs. Punk was very good, even if "only" a half hour. Gotta see the Heenan/Cornette stuff, I'm sure it's gold.
-
I think Aries vs. Ki was a 20 minute draw.

I'm sure Abdullah the Butcher has worn a crimson mask on more than one occasion.
-
Nah, Samoa Joe isn't about hardcore either. Show sounds good, can't wait to hear live reports. I'm sure lots of people will bitch about Joe retaining the title, like they do every time he retains. I really don't expect him to drop the belt until after the 2-year mark, though.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. Josh, Demott, and Tazz are the only announcers I like in the WWE, though JR still has his "on" moments. -

For some reason I laughed at the end of that Dawn vs. Jackie graphic when Charlie Haas suddenly appears out of nowhere. Why is a guy who "just got his wrestling license" getting a US title shot? -

"This isn't a match! This is a MASSACRE!" Ahhh, Michael Cole. You never fail to be a douchebag. -

I was hoping London would get to bust out his gorgeous SSP. Good stuff, people don't usually see stiff exchanges like that one in the WWE. -

Sick DDT to end it. These guys need to be on top of the cruiserweight division. They're fresher than the other cruiserweights at this point. -

LONDON~!~!~! -
Thanks HTQ! I'm sure Kash was exaggerating...but Hall and Nash weren't REALLY given $50,000 each for Victory Road, were they?
-
You intensely dislike ROH but watch a lot of their shows? You picked up some good stuff, man.

Bump, since the show starts in a few hours. Should be a good one.
