Yeah, I had to laugh at Franky's insane rant. He had a fairly fun match with El Generico at their last show, so I don't mind him at all, he's a good heel.
-
Just wondering...why do you want the PPV versions instead of the Colliseum video versions or whatever?

Punk is "straight edge". He doesn't smoke, drink, do drugs, etc. He had a great feud with Raven in ROH where he hated Raven because he said Raven wasted his life on drugs, alcohol, rats, etc. I think Punk could get the easy cheap heat in the WWE by saying he doesn't drink and that's he's better than anyone who does, etc. Punk's real strength is in his promos, because he's one of the best in the indies at them...and he's a pretty damn solid worker too.

"Kurt beat Jacque Rogeau, he pinned him clean. Jacque Rogeau pinned Hogan clean. So technically speaking, Kurt ended Hulkamania!" Franky the Mobster ranting about the neccesity of wearing a fanny pack made me laugh too.

What song would make a great entrance theme for a wrestler? It can be one that somebody uses/used in the past, or something you just think would work really well.

I didn't buy anything from ROH after the RF scandal until they split officially and made their own website. RF still posts his shills all over the net, but I have to think that barely anyone buys anything from him anymore. And the ROH product has really improved since all that shit went down around March. The stuff from April-now has been really fun for the most part, though most "casual" fans judge the product on what they've seen, which is generally from 2002-2003. TNA just hasn't grabbed my interest at all. I feel like it's a really "dumbed down" product for some reason. There's no complexity at all to ANY of the storylines.

He said he never had a world heavyweight title shot. He's had a shot at the WWE title, but not a shot at the heavyweight title since moving to RAW.

I'm really excited to see the Torneo Cibernetica match. Sounds pretty cool.
-
Those weren't dark matches. They aired live during "The Main Event" pre-show on TBS. Thanks for the correction, sorry about that.
-
I think that's a fair estimate. 170,000-180,000 probably.

I kind of like the idea of Jericho/Benoit vs. Edge/Christian...those guys worked well together in the past, and it would definitely lead to some great promos and matches. And we'll see how long HBK is out, but he definitely has a feud ready to go with Edge when he gets back, too. I'm really digging the bitter heel Edge right now. People tonight were comparing him to Bret Hart circa 1997, and that's a good thing for him right now, I think. Heels are the best when it feels like they truly believe in their cause, and Edge's promos have made sense and created a much better character for him. He says that he should get a title shot because Benoit and HBK have had plenty of chances before...which is true. He's already bitter at the fans for booing him in Toronto at Summerslam, and now when HBK gets the title shot instead of him he ditches Benoit in the tag match to be a dick and costs HBK the title to be a dick. Good stuff, I really hope they keep going with this character for a while, because he's doing well with it. Snitsky is clearly getting a monster heel push. So what's next for him? I really have no idea. I kind of shudder at the thought of a Benjamin/Snitsky feud for the IC title... Oh, earlier I also wrote that I wouldn't be surprised if HHH turns on Flair on Monday, and feuds with him for a bit to give him something to do while he keeps the title until his Wrestlemania showdown with Orton. And then we have Batista! Who should he feud with? Questions, questions...

I'm not a fan of ROH whatsoever --- and they're significantly better than TNA. -=Mike What wrestling ARE you a fan of, Mike? Not being sarcastic or anything...I'm actually curious.
-
Good point. I retract my statement.
-
I was hoping for Daniels or Samoa Joe or Super Dragon or Homicide or Colt Cabana or CM Punk or Jay Briscoe or Mark Briscoe...
-
Have to give the umpire crew credit tonight. In a tough situation they've made the right call on two BIG plays tonight.
-
Why is that bullshit? He only scored because A-Rod swatted the ball down the line.

I can definitely see HHH beating up Flair for showing respect to Orton. Maybe a HHH/Flair feud leading towards the Rumble and giving a challenger to HHH before Orton at Wrestlemania?
-
Or Bash at the Beach 99 True, but in 98 Savage's knee was shot to hell, just like HBK tonight.
-
I predict they pull a WCW Spring Stampede 98 and put the title on HBK, and then Hogan returns tomorrow night to win the title.
-
Keller gave it *3/4, for what it's worth. Meltzer said it was decent. Keller gave the tag title match *1/2...everything else has been in the DUD-3/4* range I guess.

Maybe they have some show-closing angle planned so it has to go last...or they're doing an old school cage, so they have to set it up and it's going last. I really can't think of any other reason.
