Let's do feedback anyway!
- The opening was cool. I liked the little IZ nod/joke.
- I was actually really shocked by J&S's heel turn. You knew it was coming eventually, but this soon? Surprised me. My only concern is the disproportionate ratio of face to heel teams we got going. Hopefully, we can even that out a bit. But it doesn't look to be a big problem since everyone hates the champs anyway.
- The tag match was fun. It was nice to see four "normal" wrestlers in there, and the dueling crazy managers was good times. I thought both teams looked good. I also like that the champs are wearing matching tights, now. It's little touches like that that I appreciate.
- The Saints promo was great, not necessarily because it was a good promo (which it was), but because it helped expand the division a little by putting some spotlight on COD. More teams, the better. The Saints are always fun, though.
- As it pertains to the Zack in a wheelchair thing: I honestly don't know what happened there, save a heap of miscommunication. ...Let's just say it was MIND GAMES~!
- I hope everyone liked cocky, fun Hoff. I know I've kind of had dueling directions with the character (cocky frat boy vs. big bad killer), but I *think* it all blends together well. If anyone has any comments, they'd be much appreciated.
- Zack's promo was crazy. I like how he's showing the hints of rage and madness. The Pillman nod was a nice touch. It also made Crystal look great to get the last word.
- The Emperor of Death tourney...well, that's friggin' awesome.
- Bryte's "Uncle Kev" stuff is starting to amuse me greatly. Bryte is such a dick to everyone, I love it. And the ass falling of had me ROTFLMFAOOMG2004~!!
- I kinda saw Drek's Italian Championship coming, but NYU is a fantastic writer and the unveiling was just extremely well done, so props to him.
- DAMA! I want my feedback. Anyway, yeah, I bought the explanation. Smith's part of the promo explained it perfectly, and it was believable. I *really* like where you seem to be going as far as there being an even higher power then Damaramu. BUT, if I could make one comment, it'd be that you sure curse a lot, boy. Now I have no problem with it -- this is an efed and there's no network execs watching us -- but, when you do it so much, I think it takes away from the promos a little bit. But if you feel it works, then by all means.
- I like that Parka seems to want to help Rick Edwards. It adds well to the "inner conflict" of Rick's. It's also nice to see a WRESTLER in the role, as opposed to Abe, Leah, or Eddy. I said it before, but LP is telling a fantastic story with all of this. It doesn't seem formulaic at all...I'm simply enjoying watching it unfold.
- I loved the altercation between the NNMX and Black T. Tony calling JR "their bitch" had me laughing out loud, but it was also good to see some old-school shit like that, with teams assaulting each other's managers. To be honest, I miss the era of the male manager (as opposed to valet...though I got nothing against them, wink wink, nudge nudge), and this is great as far as I'm concerned.
- OHNO WHO HURTED SLY SOMMERS?! Ahahahaha. HEELS~!
- CABOOSE
I think the bigger issue here is why the HELL a guy that DOESN'T EVEN WORK HERE is getting music and pyro!
Heh. I always wondered about that sort of thing. Anyway....OMG PANTHER~! BACK IN TEH COMPANIE~! This was a great promo. I liked how Chris had the upper hand. I also liked that there was a little flash of Chris as a Panther fan. That was great to see, that sort of "flicker of humanity." But I look forward to the impending return of OMGPANTHER~!
- Again, thanks to those who commented or complimented (even better!) the Hoff/AJ match. I personally was worried it was a little short. Of course, any critiques are welcome.
- The closing scene with Caboose was...odd. I'm interested to see where it goes. ...Not much more I can say about it, I guess.
So of course overall I liked the show, as always. Everything was strong. On a semi-related note, I'm talking to a friend of mine to see if he wants to come in with me as a TAG TEAM. Which brings me to what I liked most about this week: tag, tag, tag, OH TAG~. Great to see it flourishing again.
I know we don't do teh numbers anymore...but 10, baby, 10 all the way.
