"Smart" means knowing something about the business and how it really works. "Mark" means one who enjoys wrestling. We're all smarks, and as long as we enjoy wrestling we all will be, and in that sense, we DON'T have a choice.

Yeah, I was never really sure when HHH hate became a smark thing, since all the casual fans I know and almost all the ones I've talked to think that HHH has really gone downhill recently and isn't very good. Admittedly, this could just be my circle of friends, although I doubt it.

I don't think Henry is a bad person or anything, he seems like a company man, and a good guy, but I still think he sucks in the ring. I think a lot of people feel that way. I don't think it has much to do with "smark myths," and more to do with Henry being slow and limited in what he does in the ring. Just because somebody's not Sabuing everything doesn't make them any good. It further needs to be stated that wrestling, like most things, is a matter of opinion and there are no doubt people who like Henry in the ring, but in a forum known for its appreciation of fast-paced matches and extensive movesets, these people are just simply going to be rare. As far as "X-Pac heat" goes, I always assumed that was just speculatory. There's no real way to tell that someone is getting booed because they're over or because they're boring, without asking each individual fan. But it's not unfair to speculate that someone who a good number of people find uninteresting could be getting that sort of heat. Conversely, it's also not fair to assume that's the case. I think both sides need to realize that.

Most active at night, and a very quiet forum, with maybe 30 or so regulars, and a lot of people who stop by occasionally. It's definitely not for everyone. It's a very type B place, but I think a lot of people would enjoy it if they gave it a chance. Also, being quieter, it's not as though it takes a long time to stop by. ALSO, the more people we get, the more active the board gets. We are also vampires.

My only concern is that if it merged with GC, or even if such a "junk drawer" folder were created, some of the real nonsense posts wouldn't be tolerated. That bothers me, since these usually aren't malicious and I can't see how they hurt things. But if I knew I could step into GC or this new folder and ramble about snow or my sandals, that'd be just fine. The "I'm here to save the board" and "you suck" threads can take a flying leap for all I care.

But what if they actually COULD care less? Like, say, they really cared about something? For example, "I could care less about sandals." See, because I like sandals, so I could care a lot less.

Well, I have to say, I'm against this idea. There's a lot of the same in there, true; but there's also fun little threads that pop up from time to time, little nothing threads that aren't malicious or dramatic or anything, but they are stupid, and if NHB was closed, I wouldn't have a place to put those threads. WDI, sure. But I also like perusing the "content" folders here. However, without being able to just cut loose and type up some nonsense, I dunno if I'd have the impetus to keep coming back. I know there's the OAOAST, but I treat that separately from the rest of the board. In any case, NHB is basically my impetus to come here. I don't know if that makes sense or not, but it's the best way I can explain it. At the very least, change it to something like "Stupid Nonsense" or some such. But even if it is worthless, I don't see how it being here is so horribly awful, and it does give us a place to be just plain silly. Of course, I'd love it if more people came to WDI, but I'm not one to recruit or force the issue. Nor is that really here or there -- it just seemed to fit in the discussion. Anyway, my two cents.
