Okay, but HeldDown was STACKED at that point. Now it's just a few writers doing a lot of characters, so it seems as big, but sometimes it reads thin. That's not a knock on anybody, as it takes a lot to write for more than one character, and those who do generally do it well. But it often shows...people only have so much time and so many ideas.

Hell, I even try to leave feedback every so often, which is more than I can say for several current writers.

I'm sort of with this, but I'd refine it a little. Around the waist when dressed to compete; over the shoulder in street clothes. I, too, think around the waist over street clothes looks weird, but even if a guy is just coming out to talk, if he's in his gear, it looks good strapped on. However, there's certainly some exceptions, like Taker, Show, Cena, etc. I was never a fan of Rock just dragging it behind him, but I was fine with Austin doing so, because he's a crazy redneck. It fit the character.

So, before you all played online, how would you have rated yourselves? Because I think I'm pretty good, but I have a feeling I'm in for a rude awakening.

I don't doubt Leena's definition of the word infer, but I can make words look pretty and official, too. Source? EDIT: Actually... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/infer So it seems that the words are not exactly synonyms, but comparable. More to the point, it would seem that the person committing the action would be "implying," while one observing the action would be "inferring." Incidentally, I'm grammar Hitler, and even I find this argument anal.

When I came in two years ago, we had maybe twice as many writers as we do now. People just keep quitting. I'm not talking about guys like me and Bobby and the drama queen over there...I mean guys like Papa, longtime members, as well as guys like CWM and Some Guy who came back but didn't stay. It just seems like nothing is holding interest anymore, and it's kind of sad because this place used to be really hoppin'. I don't think it's going to DIE or anything, but it would be nice to see some new blood. The worst thing was guys like Steviekick and that horror movie guy, who signed up, but did nothing. It just feels kind of bleak at times. Everyone knows how I feel about the current angle, but those personal opinions aside, the fact is that either nobody knows we're down here, or nobody cares. I don't know how to change that, which is why I've kept my opinion to myself, but as long as we're discussing the issue, I am kind of worried about the longevity of the OAOAST. If there was a way to recruit (this is where NGA busts in with the chants of "SWF INVASION"), that'd be great, but we can't force people into a hobby. I don't know what else to say on the issue, and I wish I had answers, and I want everyone to know that I'm not trying to run the place down; this is a concern I've had for about a year now. But I believe it needs to be addressed.

HTQ is very knowledgeable, and I even like the guy, but he can be very condescending, bordering on flame-baiting. I doubt it's intentional, it's likely just his personality, but I don't think it makes a good mod. Sorry, guy.

I don't even want to get into the odyssey of me trying to get online. I can't find that @#$% USB thing Nintendo put out to save my life, and every time I *think* I can afford a wireless router, BAM, T-Mobile finds another thing to charge me for. FWIW, I hate T-Mobile. Anyway, I *should* be online a few times in the next month, but I wouldn't count on me for any kind of league. I'd love to do it, mind you. Should the situation change, I'll let you know.

That was the *first* thing I admitted. Obviously, you can't base that decision off of such little experience. But there's a lot of people out there likely in the same boat as I am, who have seen very little Joe, who would say Angle on principle. Laughing at them for that is kind of cruel, unless, like 99% of the internet, they state it as undeniable fact and pretend they've seen Joe's entire body of work. But if an informed person still picks Kurt Angle over Samoa Joe, you've got to be a pretty mean, petty individual to laugh at them or chide them for it.

Yeah, obviously it's a very fakey move, and for that matter when has Angle ever worked the ankle? But there's two reasons it works. First off, it's been built up as a killer move. It's got a reputation...credibility. Secondly, he can often grab it out of nowhere. It's a spot like Sweet Chin Music, the Rock Bottom, or the Stunner/Diamond Cutter/RKO/Kanyon Cutter/etc. that can swing the tide of a match at what seems like the end. It's that kind of drama that I, along with many of the more casual fans, appreciate much more than an extended technical affair. On its own merits, that style is nothing special, but when you get guys like Shawn and Kurt and Rock that work at it, and make it into almost an artform, that's something, in my opinion, to write home about. That's memorable.

Bullshit, Adam. That's like saying Chad Kroeger is a better musician than Kurt Cobain because Chad didn't shoot himself. As much as I love Nickelback, we all know that ain't true. To judge someone's career by the rest of their lives is unfair. No matter what you can say about Kurt's mentality, his medication, or his home life, he is most certainly an unqualified success as a professional wrestler. This poll, by the way, is as of this post at 56 to 56 -- a dead heat. Very interesting. As for Angle/Joe, so okay, I've seen like three Samoa Joe matches, but from what I have seen I'd take Angle any day of the week. Not because Joe is "bad" somehow, but because I prefer the way Angle works and the spots he hits. He tends to wrap me in the moment. I would, admittedly, like to see more of Joe, but if you asked me right now, with my limited experience, I'd take Angle and I doubt I'm the only one. And fine, maybe we're the minority, but it irks me a little to see people saying they'd laugh at that opinion.

So, Final Fantasy III/VI. Which do you guys prefer, the World of Balance or the World of Ruin?
