If you can't suspend belief on your own, without the WWE telling you "it's real, honest!", that's a pretty sad state of affairs. As Bob put it, assuming the wrestlers are entertaining, one should be able to get wrapped up in the moment easily enough. That's how every other fictional TV show in existence functions.

You actually started it. BESIDES, it's funny to me. I'm easy to pick on, so you do it. I pick on you solely because of the American Idol thread. You do realize that, right? You went into a thread with the deliberate intention of pissing people off. It worked, let me tell you. If you enjoy it, fine, but it has nothing to do with you beng easy to pick on. Tons of our posters fall into that category, myself included. I leave them alone because they seem nice enough. Once you start shit for no reason, though, you're on my radar until the stars rain down from the sky.

Hey, question for anybody playing IV Advance, or anyone with knowledge of the series in general. was it in the Japanese version of IV, or is it truly a new addition?

Care to support this opinion? I'd like to hear how the WWE style lends itself to more dramatic matches than the technical King's Road style. Or the technical NJPW Juniors style. Then perhaps you could compare the best matches from each style to show why the WWE matches are more dramatic. Check Dama's post earlier in the thread for my feelings, but, since you asked: I feel that while the WWE style is certainly flawed and it doesn't lend itself to longer matches, it does do a lot of things right. The finish of a match is filled with familiar spots that pop the crowd, breathtaking near falls (something Angle does amazingly well, IMO), and a crescendo to a dramatic conclusion. It's very Hollywood, which makes a lot of people complain, but there's a reason that Hollywood does so well, y'know? Just because the WWE style doesn't fit a certain definition of "good wrestling," that doesn't make it inherently bad wrestling, either. In all honesty, I'm very unfamiliar with Japanese wrestling, and I have no clue what King's Road style is. But I've seen a little bit from feds like APW and ROH, in addition to a fair deal of TNA, Daniels' hometown. The average WWE main event "draws me in" much more than the average TNA main event, or even an X-division affair. But, as I've said, that's just me.

They've been together nearly a year, and they're really great for each other. She's depressive, and he's autistic. Somehow, they parlayed this into a functioning relationship. He's been planning to ask her to marry him on or around New Year's, as well. Sadly, the last month or so has been a lot of fighting and yelling. I really don't want to see them apart as they've been just so good for one another, and he especially has done a lot better as a functioning member of society. I wouldn't normally post about this, but I'm a big believer in the power of positive thinking, so I'm just asking for any well-wishes or prayers, etc. you might have. The "generic" WWE style lends itself to dramatic matches much better than a more "technical" style ever will, THERE I SAID IT. I'd qualify that statement as my opinion, but, pssh, no one else is bothering to do so. I'm not voting because I can't intelligently, but some of the posts in this thread are so matter-of-fact it's sickening. There's more than one style, and many of us find the methodical, spot-filled, overly-dramatic WWE way of doing things quite entertaining, so stop preaching your own personal truths like they were gospel. And before anyone says "lolz Hoff, but that still means that t3h Fallen Angel is a better WRESTLER OMG," take a minute to remember that this isn't the amateur ranks. The measuring stick in this business is and always has been a performer's ability to entertain. To that end, all one has to do to be a better wrestler is be more entertaining. I'm sure that there's many who find Daniels much better than Angle in that regard, and that's cool. But over the years, Angle has entertained a hell of a lot of people.

That is, without question, the lowest form of posting possible. If I had to use a phrase to describe Mole, it'd be "alarmingly unintelligent."
